Class is in Session - Click Here

[We open up to a huge classroom on the campus of Fontbonne University in Clayton, Mo. The classroom is completely empty except for Vic Viceroy, dressed in slacks and a sweater vest. He has a clipboard in his hand and a projector behind him.
Viceroy: Alright class we have so much to cover in today's Viceroy 101 class so let's get started.
[The picture on the screen behind him switches to a shot of Viceroy hoisting the Unknown on his shoulders and tossing him over the top rope to win the Battle Royal at blast.]
Viceroy: Lookie there! I did exactly what I said I was going to do. I took on all comers. I finished that off by dropping ole' Allen Wrench over the top rope. I had a feeling it would be you Allen. But listen no hard feelings. You're good. I'm better. It's that simple. No real need to cover that anymore.
[The screen switches to a picture of Corey Black standing over a fallen Vic Viceroy. His face gets angrier and his voice gets deeper.]
Viceroy: And then the WCF was graced with the return of the legend, the Hall of Famer, the two time WCF classic winner, Creeping Death Corey Black. I have been in Black's position before. You have a promotion that you've always been a big player in. A place where you are the man. Then you sit back and you see you're not the top dog anymore. You notice that your strangle hold on the company has become a little limp wristed. So you decide to make a statement. It might be against someone whose mouth is writing some huge checks. It could be someone that has won a big match. Or it could be someone you see a lot of yourself in and want to see if he's up to par. Well....you've got all of those things in me. But I understand. You had to do what you had to do. I am not going to take it personal. But... anything like this happens again..and the war begins.. the war..begins.
[-A coy smirk spreads over Viceroy's face. He turns around to look at it with a hint of disdain one more time until the picture changes to video from Blast.]
Neforian rolls away and watches with fire in his eyes as Alpine struggles to work his way to his feet. He's using the ropes to get up. He turns, and Neforian grabs him immediately.
Zach Davis: RUNNING POWERSLAM!
No! - Alpine is able to wriggle his body so he lands behind Neforian. Neforian spins around and is met with a kick to the gut from Alpine.
Freddy Whoa: THE GLOW WORM!
Alpine drops on top of Neforian.
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
Zach Davis: WE HAVE A NEW TELEVISION CHAMPION!
Alpine rolls off of Neforian, clutching his back, both men laying on the mat.
Freddy Whoa: What. A. Match.
Zach Davis: For a long time, the Television Title has been THE most sought after Title in the WCF. Tonight proved why.
Alpine slowly works his way up as Neforian rolls out. Alpine is handed the belt - he raises it for one half second before dropping to the mat and rolling out after a hard fought victory.
[Viceroy nods his head slowly in approval and he starts a slow clap. Clap...clap....clap.]
Viceroy: Arguably the match of the PPV. Neforian vs. Brent Alpine for the Television Title. Both of these competitors have been moving up the ranks here in WCF and they have put everyone on notice. You people might think I am a fool who has just come in here guns a blazing looking for a fight, and you wouldn't be wrong at all. But I also do a little bit of research here and there, and I do pay attention to those who demand attention. Neforian and Brent Alpine demand attention. It might be because they are both off their damn rockers....but they demand attention. Crazy as they might be...they are both damn good between those four ropes.
[The graphic changes to the Slam logo.]
[Viceroy smiles and nods again.]
Viceroy: So, then there's the Slam after a big event. A new champion is crowned in a thrilling match. We've all seen this scenario before. Then the next time you see the winner of that match on television they get a 'fluff match'. The powers that be put them in a 'title defense' against someone that has done something to earn a title shot, like say...winning a battle royal. But it's not someone they think will actually win. The big money is in the rematch against the former champion. Anyone with any business sense know that. But what if....what if... that dream rematch is ruined. What if that 'fluff match' actually turns out to be a challenge? What happens if that 'up and comer' that's getting thrown a bone by getting a title match has been to the dance before? Just what if? The new highly touted champion... loses his first title defense?
[Vic Viceroy grins and the image switches to Brent Albine atop his throne.]
Viceroy: 'The Shine" Brent Alpine. There's only one thing in common between the two of us. We both like to win. Other than that.. not much in common. No one knows too much about me just yet, but the thing is I like it that way. I come out....I talk about what's going to happen or what my opponent has said about me. I might do a silly little gimmick like this classroom here but you know what you're going to get. I'm going to talk shit. I'm going to back it up. I'm not going make any excuses. I don't feel like I need the cameras to follow me around while I do every little thing in my every day life. The reality show to me is inside those four turnbuckles. Maybe that's just me. My life outside the ring doesn't involve weird entourages and spiritual awakenings. I run my bar. I train. I drink. I fight. So I guess my backstory is pretty boring. But I personally don't care if Brent Alpine has to fire his mistress/personal assistant because he went to the mountain and some deity told him to do so. Shit I had to fire Yolanda, one of my best bartenders, because she was giving hand jibbers for $20 in my bathroom. I guess I could have wasted my promo time telling you all about the ill affects of Hepatitis C, but I choose to talk about what is going on inside the wrestling ring...ya know the reason people tune in.
[Viceroy claps his hands together and the image changes to the Television Title.]
Viceroy: THAT right there is what it is all about. Two men. One title. It's not a high profile match. It might be a blip on your radar since you've had such a long career here. But this is my biggest match yet in WCF. I know to you this is a 'fluff match', but to me it's my proving ground. I see by your little lifetime movie you're boring us all through that you're going through some changes in your life....some dark, dark changes. I hope you bring that darkness. I hope you bring that pent up rage. I said from day one I was looking for a fight. Well I finally have got one. Take me to that dark place with you Brent Alpine. When that bell rings, I want your best. I want everything that Neforian got. I want a match that will demand attention. I want to let you know that you're getting the best of what's left of me, and I hope I get that in return. I am not saying I will win. I have seen what you can do. I am saying this. You're going to have to come prepared to fight. I know you look at what I did at Blast and you shrug your self loathing shoulder and think that any hayseed could pull off that victory. I believe you're right. That match was fun.... but it wasn't a challenge. This Sunday, there will be a challenge. For you, and for me. One of us will leave Newark, New Jersey with the Television Title. I am going to give it my all to make sure that man is me. I hope you do the same Brent Alpine. I hope you're ready to 'shine', because I sure as shit am.
[All the lights go off except for a spotlight on Vic Viceroy.]
