Tonight we take a look back at the career of Greg St. Matthews we will tell the story of his rises and falls and look ahead to what his future holds....
A large auditorium filled with hundreds of people. The auditorium is decorated in streamers and balloons as the students sit in chairs roasting alive in their caps and gowns. Greg St. Matthews had been waiting for this day for quite a while and could barely control his excitement.
"Finally," he thought to himself, "I can finally get out of here and live my life for a little while."
After receiving his diploma and sitting through what seemed like an endless ceremony Greg St. Matthews ran for the door. In the parking lot he jumped into his Tahoe and rolled the windows down as he cranked the engine over. The music started playing Sad But True by Metallica so he cranked the music and left the parking lot.
(2 years later)
It had been 2 years since he had left high school and at 20 years old he found that he had absolutely no drive to do anything at all. It really worried him. He had been struggling with depression and anxiety on top of manic bi polar disorder so his life was one up followed by several Downs and it seemed that the tunnel was never ending and there was no light at the end of it.
A few weeks after his 20th birthday his brother came to see him.
"Hey Greg what's up?? You doing alright?" His brother asked him.
"Yeah I'm alright just not sure what I'm doing right now." Greg replied solemnly.
Worried, his brother thought of something he could do to cheer his big brother up and suggested, "hey they are doing a wrestling thing over in Paris tonight you wanna go?"
Greg mulled the thought over in his head and replied, "yeah let's go sounds like it could be fun."
The St. Matthews brothers arrived at the venue and immediately got swept up in the fanfare and fun of the event and for the first time in quite sometime Greg was actually happy. It was at that point that Greg knew what he was going to do with his life he was going to be a professional wrestler.
"Seems pretty crazy to me Greg." Tommy said looking kinda worried but intrigued by the idea. "But hell when did we ever do anything that wasn't completely bat shit nuts?"
"Exactly man and just think, you and me go in there we'd be unstoppable. We would run the show. Let's fucking go."
The next week Greg and Tommy went and joined up with the WCCW wrestling program.
Shortly after their debut the St. Matthews Brothers we're over in a big way and found themselves in contension for the WCCW tag team titles and after winning them found themselves at the forefront of one of the largest inter promotional wars since the famed Monday night wars.
A rival promotion, one Greg would eventually find success in had contacted WCCW stars and were trying to buy out their contracts. Naturally with their talent being offered other options WCCW management went on the offensive running down PTW superstars and berating PTW management. After many long months of warring back and forth it looked as though PTW had all but won the war. It was at this point that WCCW introduced a new batch of young superstars fresh from development. Among them were none other than the St. Matthews Brothers.
For the first few months of their careers they were forced to job match after match after match to both veterans and other new blood alike. But no matter how much they lost by the boys always sold the matches which gained them quite the following with fans of WCCW and eventually management took notice and gave the boys the push they deserved. They rose quickly through the ranks of the tag team division and won the tag titles just as The wars began to reach a fever pitch with defectors from each company jumping to the other creating new and unique challenges for the boys which they welcomed week after week managing to hang on to their titles week after week. The excitement was building more and more but soon rumors began spreading throughout the locker room of a possible sell out to PTW and that superstars would be notified at the next PPV event which had been worked out to an inter promotional PPV to determine which was the better of the 2 promotions. At the opening of the show it was revealed that WCCW had in fact sold out to PTW and that all outstanding contracts would be given over to PTW after the nights proceedings. Each of the nights title exchanges would unify the championships. The boys saw the writing on the wall and took the fall like they were supposed to. Much to the chagrin of PTW management the boys asked for their release from their contracts as they had no intentions of wrestling for anyone other than WCCW, the organization that had allowed for their introduction into the world of professional wrestling.
After leaving PTW the boys took a hiatus from wrestling for a few months but never got out of practice. They were soon contacted by PTW management about a possible return. Greg St.Matthews had been chomping at the bit for some time now and was ready to return but his brother had decided to continue his time away from wrestling for a while.
After redebuting in PTW Greg St. Matthews was greeted to chants of "WELCOME HOME" and "MAKE GREG CHAMP". This started a fire in Greg that would lead up to his crowning achievement but also to his near self destruction. As a tag team wrestler Greg had his brother there to help manage the limelight but on his own he found he had a hard time dealing with the increased attention and pressure being put on him. This is when his addiction began. It began at first as a way to manage and cope but eventually led to Greg being forced to seek treatment or lose his place in PTW. Even after treatment he was forced to reenter development which he saw as a waste of his time. But honestly he had to admit he was a good bit rusty and the stint in development did help him. After which he went on to become the PTW World Heavyweight Champion until he was injured during a title defense match against Branden Taggert. An injury that would send him reeling for nearly a year and a half until his decision to rejoin wrestling saved him from another self destruction. He is now an active part of WCF's main roster and competing weekly.
When asked if there was a possibility of a reunion of the St. Matthews Brothers Greg merely smiled and said, "The possibility will never fully be taken from the table."

This week on Slam you are a part of a six man tag match showcasing some new talent to WCF how do you feel about your match this week?
(St. Matthews)
It's a unique opportunity for everyone involved to really show what they can do and for me I've not competed in any sort of tag team action in quite a while so this gives me the chance to examine how well I'm still able to keep up.

At Blast you came up a small bit short of defeating The Heavy Metal Machine and Severan King after the interference of Sean Craven, a man usually closely associated with The Plague Kevin Bishop, any speculation into why Craven got involved in your match and what implications this has between your self and the plague?
(St. Matthews)
Honestly I have no earthly idea who this Craven guy is or why he saw fit to get me decimated but I assure you that I will find out. As far as Kevin Bishop goes I have never even had any dealings with him but if he wants to go down this road I'll walk it all day long.

As seen in the retrospective we showed your brother was your tag team partner to much success back in your WCCW days, is there any chance of a reconciliation of the St. Matthews Brothers??
(St. Matthews)
A wry smile creeps on to St. Matthews face.
The possibility is never something I will take off of the table in some capacity or another. My brother is an incredible competitor and a great person he holds me down when I need him to. So yes there is and always will be a possibility of the reconciliation.
