I had a good conversation with Bates on how to effectively RP, tell my character's story, but also focus on my upcoming match..
So, I've implemented Bates advice (and hopefully, I didn't mess that up...lol)
And, structured my RP in a different style, etc.
I am DAMN determined to shake off my 15 year absence from efedding, and the rust that comes with it..lol Hopefully, soon..I won't have to ever refer to my 'my rust' and make my RPs enjoyable to read, and also develop my character..)
Now, don't bash too much because I will pout and cry...oh wait, I DON'T HAVE FEELINGS IN THE FIRST PLACE...lol jk)
Thanks you all for support and helpfulness...I do mean that. Great organization, great talent, and great 'family.' *****Night all!*****

The German word "von" means from. In the early years of German civilization (after barbarism) it found use as a tool for denoting the surname of a recognized gentry or noble, such as the von Eschenbachs. It meant, for example, Wolfram "from" Eschenbach. Unless there is a German town named Massaker, which there isn't, it would be impossible for anyone to have their surname become "from Massaker."

In fairness, Maloure is simply a hill in Normandy, but my name comes from Durand de Maloure. Sam concept, but the place "no longer exists" (not on any major maps at least, that I can find.

'Von' means 'of' and thus my whole name means, 'Executioner of (the) Massacre.' Von, in some instances can mean 'from,' but not this instance. It is considered a 'homograph' (I.e. bass= fish or 'bass' can be an instrument, etc.) As, names were given by what their trade or where they lived. So, 'von' would be in reference to his 'trade, and not location. So, for etymology purposes, the usage is correct in German terms, since I did live IN Köln, Germany. #2 I asked for feedback for my ROLEPLAY, not an English diagram. Which, I even referred to my sister, who was an English major and published author. #3 So, does anyone ELSE have an opinion the STRUCTURE of my roleplay? Flow, content, storytelling, etc. #4 With all do respect, this IS efedding, so no need to really disseminate, or dissect, the actual meaning/spelling of a character's name...as, I believe 'poetic license' CAN be used in this case, as we are not here to be graded on a thesis paper. Thank you!

I know you're young but that just makes people want to punch you. It will not serve you well as you get into the real world. You won't be smart, you'll just be a prick

Thank you! First, I thought this was the post you made about general character feedback. Oh well. This is what I get for trying to help. Bates: That's true, but, at least that place existed. Second, frankly, this is incorrect. "Of" and "from" are used in the same concept in Germany in this case. "Of" has an equal definition to "from" when using the word "von." I see where you made the mistake though since they appear to be interchangeable, but regardless of which word is used it still means from or in possession of. See: en.wiktionary.org/wiki/von#Etymology_2Also: translate.google.com/?safe=strict&espv=2&biw=1745&bih=925&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.&bvm=bv.125801520,d.dmo&ion=1&sns=1&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&client=tw-ob#auto/de/executioner%20of%20the%20massacre Also, two years of German. I just took this course. You're right, you do what you want. But as you've seen, if you make mistakes, people will harass you about it. But really... this had to be a fight? It's not. I gave information. Use it if you like. No need to get so testy.

I gave information. Use it if you like. No need to get so testy. Dude, taking 2 years of German, does NOT compare to LIVING in Germany..like, um......ME!!!!!! Each part of Germany has it's OWN dialect, but also there's universal usage of a word, that can be interchangeable! You can research all you want, read all you want, BUT YET you try to ALWAYS be right, and just plain won't stop your pissing contest. Did I ask feedback for my RP? Yes!!!!! (Which EVERYONE knows that means the RP as a whole.) Did I ask for someone to breakdown word usage, entomology, or how to say 'to-may-to' versus 'to-mah-to?) <------The last one was just used to for purposes of levity! lmfao So, as I stated before, Drop it! It's not relevant to the 'big scope' of the RP feedback that everyone, besides you, utilizes. So, no more non-sense, and the need for a one-sided pissing contest. Regardless, take care Dag, and thanks for the 'attempt' anyways. Peace and chicken grease!

No, just your specific incorrect feedback on a spelling not one....damn... word.
That's not feedback, that was misguided information not related to the RP.
I was a customer service manager for a a software distributor in Köln. I managed AVG, TrendMicro, Microsoft, LG, Kaspersky, etc. for the Military, schools, major corporations, etc. If you want to troll/check out where I lived in the Ehrenfeld section of Germany.
Cities along the northern part of the Rhine River have a looser pronunciation of the language, and Köln has it's own dialect, Kölsch..which is, ironically, the city specific brand of beer that is ONLY Brewed in Köln.
So, how I used 'von' is 100% correct. When was you in Germany? Maybe we can talk about out experiences...
Also, last time, No. more. Talk. On. This. Subject. NOW.... No one has gave me any feedback on my RP, because of the idiotic 'von' debacle. Thanks.
Just drop it already, for the love of God!

Good example for anyone who'd like to give you constructive criticism in the future :/ You're criticism was in no way constructive. It's his name. It can literally be whatever he wants it to be. I don't even think Neforian is a real word. It's a butchering of another word that means evil. Is that an issue? Just let the guy call himself whatever he wants. Literally no one cares whether his use of the word von is proper or not. You're the only one who gives a shit about it

Remember the debate over whether or not a person liking a post should be considered "in character"?
This is 100x more nerdy.

Good example for anyone who'd like to give you constructive criticism in the future :/ Make your criticism constructive next time and not nitpicky on the semantics of someones name. You gave literally no feedback on his RP, AT ALL. Don't get cranky when someone asked for feedback on their RP and you are just trying to antagonize. You never told Nathan von Liebert he was saying Nathan from Liebert.

I know I'm supposed to "drop this for the love of all that is holy and the sake of the world" but yeah, that was my mistake, I meant to post this in the "general feedback on my character" thread he made. When I do make a mistake... "No excuses. I own it."

Ok, all settled and forgotten? Good! So, now we're past the small obstacle... Let's band together, and turn out good RPs, and have a kickass Slam! Remember, we all have struggles in RL, but in the end, we are here to work together to bring the BEST out of each other (win or lose. . And, it's a FUN way to keep distracted from our RL problems, but also develop friendships... Which helps in communication regarding angles, storylines, possible feud storylines, etc.
Respect for each other, means better chance to build your character and storylines.

I've got a compliment sandwich for you:
1) Pros: You have established some motive for the Baron, given a fresh look into his past, and shown his demeanor.
2) Cons: Let the action unfold. A few times I noticed action that happens with expositon; as a small key, try to resist expaling every part of someone's reaction. Letting us determine the reaction helps better the characters in scene. Another step could be letting an interview not be about straw men, but about your character showing their true colors. Little things, sure, and also opinionated.
3) wrap up: You are devloping his lore quite well. Don't back down and let us see who can be. I am rather intrigued.

So, for this constructive criticism and also your support as a man, I appreciate and respect your opinions and honesty. I will take all of those points in consideration, and apply that in my posts & RPs. And, always feel free to PM me, if you'd like, if you have ideas for angles, storylines, etc. with my character. Once again, I appreciate your feedback, Sir. Also, I appreciate a fresh look and honesty regarding my 'work' here in WCF.
