My religion does not make up my character, and only just a very small part of who I am. But, not an occultist (though the symbol was also used by alchemists/occultists.) And, the symbol is in no way Nazi related, and used in modern German military as a symbol (free Germany, but my character grew up in what was West Germany, and deeply despised Nazi even back then.)

Which is all true... I know the history. But, there are other forms of the symbol pre-dating those days.. (I.e. Swastika was actually made hundreds of years ago or longer, and is used in Hindu culture and Asian culture as for 'good luck' or 'great joy.' Nazi/Hitler perverse many old symbols to his likening & use because he was a failed artist, so he resorted to stealing older symbols for his propaganda (I.e. Swastika, Black Sun, etc.)
This just so happens to be one of those cases.
Black Sun is used for predominant Germanic Paganism (I.e. which includes many countries, including the Scandinavians.). Wicca still uses the symbol to this day, as well has shown up in Celtic Paganism.
The Iron Cross pre-dates Nazis, and also has been used as the symbol of the German Army, even to this day.
I used to live in Germany, so I know this for a fact, as well as I am a 'nerd' who studies symbolism, etc. Mostly also, because I'm a Freemason for 16 years, which is heavily symbol driven. But, Freemasonry the biggest tenet is you must have a monotheistic belief (which, that country's predominant religion is.) So, in the U.S. it's Christianity (no matter the denomination: Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, etc. etc.)

Also, by definition, post-Nazi 1945..The symbol is NOT associated with Nazi Occult, but rather:
A revival of Neopaganism in Germany and Austria began in the 1970s. Since the 1980s, mainstream esotericism in German-speaking Europe has been dominated by generic New Age syncretism as it developed in the United States.

I'm not arguing that I'm just saying that generally when a symbol was used by a very evil entity it doesn't usually pop up as something to parade around. Hence, the swastika no longer having the general meaning of yay happy fun times.

In Hindu countries, but in America and Europe, we did not have the technology back then as it is today, so seeing Hitler using it was brand new to us and Europe. Since none of use had a real population of Hindu or Buddhism. So, therefore, those countries still use it, but after Hitler preversed the usage of an old symbol, no one in Western Culture, or in Europe, wil ever use it (and rightfully so.) |

You have to look at it in the scope of outside of what we learned in school. Same thing with the Black Sun (which, was not prominent on Nazi flags, etc. But Hitler preversed that use as well, but all-in-all, it was originally, then post-1945, used for not occult symbolism, but the true paganism of that era hundreds of years before. But, it took 13 years (give or take,) that Hitler and his plagary to just develop his own meaning of what those symbols mean.. And, which shows what a Napolean Complex he had, and made his 'people' transfixed on symbols to further his agenda.

You see it that way, and you are wrong. What can I say. You are arguing for arguments sake. It's like me taking a shit, and calling it a mud pie. Don't read too much in it. My character is NO way Nazi, nor even remotely tied to it. I'm not going to argue over schematics, when the proof is in the history books.
Now, Swastika was used TO represent the Nazis. Whereas, the Black Sun ONLY was USED by Nazis... And, NOT to represent Nazism. Big difference. Regardless, my character will be from West Germany (and served in Germany military after the unification, that despises Nazi's, and the Iron Cross is used today as the Army's symbol. #2 The 'Black Sun' will not really even be used with my character, even in ring attire, etc.)
So, it's a moot point, and I had to spoil the damn surprise of my character because of this asisnine conversation. So, let's part as equals AND no reason to discuss further. Good night & God bless.
