(Four years prior to WCF debut)
The scene begins with a clearly distraught Greg St. Matthews. He seems to be struggling with something as he paces furiously and talks to him self.
"I can't handle this shit anymore all the back and forth." He stops and opens a pill bottle and takes another xanax and starts to calm down and looks around. He loses his temper and punches a hole in the drywall. He looks at his hand and sits down and fades into a pill haze.
(6 months later)
"Mr. St. Matthews, you seem to rely on the pills to keep you and it's not in the slightest healthy." The rehab director said.
The camera pans to a very skinny, unhealthy Greg St. Matthews. "What do you suggest doc?" "I don't know how to function without the pills."
The doctor looks worried and replies "then you need to replace the pills with another addiction. A more healthy one."
(6 months later)
Greg St. Matthews is seen running towards the doctors office He looks completely exhausted from the long run but happy and much more healthy. He walks into the rehab doctors office and sits down.
"congratulations Mr. St. Matthews you are now 6 months sober. How are you doing?"
"It's an awesome feeling doc I gotta tell you. It's an amazing thing man I started exercising and actually enjoying life and the pills just kinda faded out." "I'm happy as I can be and I swear I've never been healthier thank you doc I can't thank you enough."
8 Months Later St. Matthews joins the PTW training school and goes onto the PTW main roster.
"Welcome to Prime Time Wrestling we have a great match up for you as Greg St. Matthews takes on Brandon Taggert for the PTW Heavyweight title. (The match begins as a hot contest with an equal showing from both competitors) "And Taggert sets St. Matthews up for the power bomb." Taggert slams St. Matthews to the mat but St. Matthews takes a bad fall and is knocked out cold.
(The next week)
PTW is sorry to announce that Greg St. Matthews has sustained a major back injury and will be forced to Vacate the PTW world heavyweight championship.
Hard Row by the Black Keys hits and St. Matthews rolls to the ring in a wheelchair, the championship draped sheepishly over his shoulder. He looks frail, almost broken. He stops just short of the ring and asks for a microphone.
"First off" he starts, "I want to apologize to Brandon Taggert for not giving him the match he was capable of." "Second I would like to apologize to PTW management for being unable to fulfill my contractual obligations." "And finally I would like to apologize to each and everyone of my fans that I may have let down. Please dont be sad or upset that I'm not able to compete just remember that I gave you my all and I hope to see you guys again." With that St. Matthews removes the title belt from his shoulder and lays it on the apron of the ring. He waves to the crowd and wipes a tear away. He rolls out of the arena visibly destroyed in the wake of the emotional roller coaster he had just endured but it seemed to weigh on him what the doctor had told him.
"Mr. St. Matthews, you will probably never wrestle again."
