The scene opens with Captain WCF finishing his 4th class at the Next Level Martial Arts dojo in Reading, Pennsylvania. His first class had been the previous Monday and he made sure not to miss the Wednesday and Friday classes as well. The Captain can already feel himself getting strong and his conditioning improving. He’s all smiles as Master C brings the class to a close and dismisses everyone for the day. However, as Captain WCF goes to gather his things, he sees a small boy, probably in the 5 or 6 year old range, crying over on the side. This concerns the Captain and he immediately goes over to Master C.
Captain WCF: “Master C, there small boy crying over there. He upset about something.”
Captain WCF points towards the boy as Master C looks on.
Master C: “Ah yes, that’s little Johnny. I’ve noticed him crying before. I asked him what the problem was and he told me some boy was bullying him at his school. I tried to get him to tell his parents or a teacher, but he said he could take care of it. He always rides his bike here by himself, so I’ve never been able to tell anyone that might be able to help him about it.”
This story makes the Captain sad. He very much wants to try to help the situation in some way.
Captain WCF: “Is it ok if I talk to Johnny?”
A slight smile forms on Master C’s face.
Master C: “Sure Captain, hopefully you’ll be able to give him some good advice.”
Captain WCF gives Master C a thumbs up before he walks over to little Johnny. The boy quickly wipes away some tears as the
Captain approaches.
Captain WCF: “Hi there Johnny, I Captain WCF. I see you cry, what is problem?”
Johnny furiously shakes his head back and forth.
Johnny: “I wasn’t crying! I just had dirt in my eyes!”
The Captain points back at Master C, who is now busy talking to another student.
Captain WCF: “Master C say you have problem with bully at school. I can try to help you with problem, if you want me to.”
Johnny looks down at the ground; he appears to be sad again.
Johnny: “Yeah, there’s this big kid at school. His name is Jory and he’s always making fun of me for being smaller than him.”
Captain WCF nods his head.
Captain WCF: “Well Johnny, in wrestling Captain WCF is small too. But that don’t stop me from facing bigger, stronger opponent. This Sunday I face Brad Nose Benson again. He much bigger and stronger than me, but I smarter than him and use his mistakes to overcome his power. Maybe you just need to use your smarts to think of way to be friend instead of enemy with him.”
Johnny looks at the Captain, a renewed sense of hope in his eyes.
Johnny: “Well what if Jory is somehow smarter than me, what could I do then?”
Captain WCF strokes his chin as he thinks about Johnny’s question.
Captain WCF: “Well this Sunday, I also face Greybush. He very smart wizard that create potions and use magic. He might be smarter than me, but he doesn’t have same heart to win as the Captain. If you more determined to settle problem with bad boy than to let him bully you, you will think of way to make him stop.”
Johnny looks away from Captain WCF as he thinks about the advice. After a moment, Johnny looks quizzically at the Captain.
Johnny: “Well what would you do, Captain WCF?”
This time, the Captain looks away from Johnny as he has to ponder the question. After coming up with a quick game plan, Captain WCF faces Johnny again.
Captain WCF: “Well Captain would ask Jory why he have problem with the Captain. Then after hearing what problem is, I would ask him what we could do to fix problem. If he was still mean to Captain after that, I would tell teacher about it and what I did to try to fix problem. Just like if I had problem with other wrestler in WCF, I tell Sef Lich about problem if other wrestler and I can’t come up with answer to problem. It may not seem cool or like good idea to have to tell grown up, but sometimes you do what you have to do to come out on top.”
Johnny nods as he looks at the Captain. It was obvious that Johnny’s first choice wasn’t to tell an adult about his problem, but when Captain WCF gave him an alternate solution first, he seemed more receptive to the idea that he may have to tell a grown up to get a resolution to his issue.
Johnny: “Thanks a lot, Captain WCF! I think I know what to do now, you really are a super hero!”
Captain WCF beams as Johnny runs off, he feels great about being able to help the boy. As Johnny runs out the door, Master C walks over to the Captain.
Master C: “I caught most of what you said to Johnny and I was very impressed, Captain. That was really good advice, Johnny is a lucky boy to have a guy like you on his side.”
Captain WCF hits the WCF logo on the chest of his uniform.
Captain WCF: “The Captain always fights for the people and has their power on his side. Johnny will be rid of his bully because he smart and strong boy.“
A look of determination appears on Captain WCF’s face.
Captain WCF: “I will beat Brad Nose and Greybush because they don’t have same smarts and power of the people that the Captain does. I here to win and to make all WCF fans cheer and be proud of me.”
Master C chuckles.
Master C: “I have no doubts that you will do just that, Captain. We’re all very proud of you here and love having you around. You keep training here with us and we’ll do our best to make sure you’re the best wrestler WCF has ever seen!”
Captain WCF smiles and bows to Master C.
Captain WCF: “Thank you, Master C, I not let you down, I not let anyone down! The Captain will win, BANZAI!”
