To be fair, I didn't kidnap Leah, she was there of her own free will and she was merely a conversation piece than an actual entity... Lol I know I know white lives matter or however that little thing goes. Would you like some cookies? I've been told that the plague has the best cookies at his meetings.

That's why no.one gets over Is the solution to be more ridiculous or less? The solution for people to not think because they are " sadistic" or cruel or whatever to think thats going to get them over. There are only 2 legit members in WCF history that has actually accomplished that; Oblivion and Green Fever. Its the same thing when like everyone wants that cocky cool 26 millionaire thats also trained in 17 martial arts and can bench 400 pounds and can counter every move. We need less of the "psycho murderers" and if people want to play one, thats cool but like, thats not getting anyone over and its not working for your character. Imagine 6 undertakers or Kanes or Bray Wyatts. those gimmicks would be trash if there was 6 of them. IF a person wants to do those characters make it unique or else its just going to bomb.

I agree 100% (though I feel NvL should be on the list of guys who got over by playing a sadistic monster). Like you said, people should definitely write their character the way they want, but if you pick a gimmick that's an efed mainstay, you'll probably get lost in the shuffle unless you're really really good at putting together an rp.

Yes, correction: NvL got over with his gimmick. So when we ask " why are there 7- 9- 15 gimmicks that are THE EXACT SAME" its because no one reads other characters. Or when people make that defense " My character only kills for X or Y". No, your character shouldnt kill at all. Like this is what I took HMM to task for. You just broke your own character for little to no reason. I'm glad people want to come here and have these ideas, thats awesome but there has to be an edge. Even the ZMAC character got over by just being different.

I think what it comes down to is what we call the cheap pops lol. To me, death in an RP is the equivalent of a pie in the face gag or praising the hometown basketball team. It's provocative, it's interesting, it's inherently fascinating... But it's also kind of a crutch lol. I have actually gone out of my way to have Teo/Teddy sell other characters deaths (mainly scarecrow) because I always want those things to be monumental. If someone dies, it makes people stop and read, it makes people care. And you see where I'm going with this, right? I have never had Teo del Sol reference the town he's in in a promo lol. Similarly, I purposefully avoid mentioning death if possible, because I consider it a cheap pop. If you've read my RP this week you might point out I featured a pretty violent scene though. Though that was a deliberate fake-out

I actually to transition my character for exactly this reason (and partially because it's just so different than my personality it's hard to come up with ideas).
I felt like I had kind of a cool idea when I first started. Neforian kind of being the embodiment of evil in the world but not considering himself evil seemed like an interesting idea. Now it just seems to similar so I'm kind of transitioning him into something different.
I think thats what needs to happen here. People need to see that even though they may say "Well I'm different because..." the fact is if you have to explain why you're different you probably aren't different enough

But its not so much a " wheres why" but a HERES HOW. Thats why guys get stuffed on when they come in with the " I'm the best " gimmick or the " I'm the most sadistic." half the roster knows thats not true. Its more a matter of sell me your gimmick rather than I just have to believe your gimmick
