The rainy day was the final straw. The final straw in what was a day of freedom. This was the day that he was finally going to be free of his past. Most people struggle to rid themselves of their pasts. Today was finally the day for him to overcome everything that led him to this moment. Everything that he had been put through. All the trials and tribulations had finally led him to this moment. The camera shows a dark haired man looking down at a tombstone. The man runs his fingers across his jawline, feeling the 5 o'clock
shadow. The man looks over his shoulder towards the car, then speaks with a rather thick British accent.
"I finally did it, no thanks to you. I remember the first time I told you I was going to be a wrestler. You beat me within an inch of my life. You told me
I would never amount to anything. I can still feel the sting of your hand across my face. Well, Dad, I did it. That's right, me. I made it to the WCF. Me, Trevor Browning, versus Black Demon and The Unknown. I will show you and the world what I am truly made of in my Debut match. When I finally step into that ring, you will see how very wrong you were. You will see that all the nights I spent watching wrestling have actually paid off. You will see that Trevor Browning is no longer at rock bottom. You held me back for so long. You made sure that I had no time to do anything. You made sure that I couldn't train like I wanted to, well You stopped holding me back so many years ago. When you died I was finally free. I wish you could have seen the joy your death brought to me. Everyone else gets to see it at Slam.
The man pulls out a flyer for the Slam and places it under a candle at the base of the headstone.
"You said I couldn't do it. I guess you were wrong. I Said I could and would. Well I just wanted you to know that I still hate you for the beatings. I still hate everyone and
everything. You taught me that every other person in the world is just a stepping stone to where I want to be. You taught me to use my rage to get what I wanted.
When I left home I told you I was going to be a wrestler. Well Black Demon and Unknown are my stepping stones. They shall feel the aforementioned rage. They will feel
the years of pent up anger. They will know the feeling I had as a small boy. The feeling of the man who was to protect me beating me. They will feel everything I felt
for 16 years. They will truly feel what its like to be broken down piece by piece, feeling like you can't take it anymore. Holding on for that ray of light to guide you
to relief. Then, like you did to me I will shatter that last bit of hope."
Trevors hand clinches into a fist as he continues his thick British accent sounding through...
"This is the last time I have to come here. I'm finally going to be free of your shadow. I'm finally going to rid myself of the so called skeleton in my closet.
For far too long I have let you hold me back. Soon, they will see. Soon they will feel what it is to be broken.
The diner is alive with guests as Trevor looks at the card for Slam. The numerous conversations at the tables are lively, some people laughing. A few people discussing business.
The look of thought washes over Trevor's face as he speaks
"The Unknown. Hmmmm. I guess we both have something in common. Neither one of us is known here, yet. Well I guess the only thing to say about that is that after Slam...
You'll still be the unknown, and I will be the known. I'm going to use you as another stepping stone in my path. You are the first stone in my path to the top of WCF.
I almost felt sorry for you. I almost felt sorry that I was going to have to use you in my path. Then I realized that at least people will look back and remember you as
one of the men Trevor Browning used on his ascent to the top. That is what your career is going to mean for so many. The first step towards greatness. Mind you, not your
greatness. Mine."
The waitress brings a cup of cup of coffee to Trevor. He waves his hand at her shooing her away.
"I hope you have career plans for after Slam. Because after slam you will slip back into obscurity and I will step out of the shadows. I will finally show the world all that is Trevor Browning. After a few years everyone will look back and say that they were their when the greatness of Trevor started. They will look back and think "what ever happened to the other guys in the match. One day they will do a WCF Where are they now?. They will see that after Slam you realized that you were going to remain a no one. You would continue your decent into obscurity and you were able to say that for one moment, JUST ONE MOMENT, you were in the ring with true greatness. You were in the ring with a true star. Your greatest claim to fame will be as the guy that Trevor put Brown and out.
Trevor stands from the table dropping a ten dollar bill at the table. He looks on at the other people in disgust. He can't imagine how Americans became such slobs as he leaves the diner.
Later that evening.
The dark hotel room was rather quiet. Trevor sits in a chair looking out the window. He looks to the closet as if it makes him think of something.
"Demons. We all have them. Some of us can overcome them, some can't. You see I overcame my demons long ago. After being beaten by my father so bad my own Mother
didn't recognize me, I left my home in Blackpool. I left to begin training for this moment. None of us know each other, but come Slam you will all find out that it
won't matter. You won't be able to overcome the years of training that I have put into this night. Building like a rolling boil I will finally boil over. I will finally
explode onto the scene. The fans at Slam will see that I am coming for their Hero's. I am coming to take what is rightfully mine and the two of you aren't going to stand
in my way. I will exercise you Black Demon. I will let the unknown be known. At the end of our match both of you will be exposed..."
Trevor looks out the window to the street below. His reflection showing his steel blue eyes. He looks over his shoulder toward the closet one more time.
"At Slam I'm going to pull your demons out of the closet and expose them to the world. At Slam people will know that you are a mere failure. You are nothing more than
a guy Trevor Browning had to beat on his Rise. Unknown, at Slam you will be KNOWN. You will be known as just a cog in the machine that is the legacy of Trevor Browning.
At Slam, you will both know what it truly means to be Brown and Out!"
Trevor walks to the bathroom as the scene fades to black...
