I'm thinking about taking a trip to Baltimore... But what to do? Besides, of course, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum! Is anyone here familiar with the area? Any suggestions? I'm looking at Google, and it looks like it's packed with history I'd love to check out, like Fort McHenry and USS Constellation. Is there enough I should see to think about booking a hotel room? When I go somewhere, I want to see it all, so give me ideas!

I don't know if they have anything commemorating it, but Confederate sympathisers burned a bridge heading to D.C. in order to stop Union troops from defending the capital at the start of the War.

I'm about forty minutes south of there. Be very careful in Baltimore. Stick to the inner harbor area if you're not familiar with the city and are travelling alone e. Bmore is beautiful but can get really bad really fast

Mom won't stop bitching about that either. Just go to the tourist areas, right? I'm not asking to go into the damn ghetto to see anything. Anyway, yeah, history and trains are the agenda so far.

Yea you'll be alright in the tourist areas. You'll have a blast there. Idk how long you'll he there but you're not to far from Antietam, Manassas and Gettysburg if you have a car

We used to go to Gettysburg once a year but haven't lately. I stopped at a couple battlefields on the way back from Roanoke, but I don't remember which ones lol. I'd like to go back to Gettysburg sometime now that I'm older and understand everything better.
