We open on the lot of what looks to be an abandoned warehouse and we are following a young blonde woman who holds a microphone in her shaking left hand. She has her hair pulled back in a loose bun and her blue eyes pierce through the dark staring into a cracked open window.
“This is Leah Hodder and I’m following up on a lead here at this abandoned warehouse. The man known as The Plague Kevin Bishop has been rumored to be performing rituals of some kind at this very location for the last decade. His profession is that of a wrestler but it’s been said that he truly does brainwash people into joining his cause on the outside as well.”
Leah hears a woman scream and she begins running toward the cracked open window with the camera guy in toe.
“Come on Carl, get the lead out!”
Carl and Leah make it to the window and Carl places the camera against the opening. Inside, we can see black candles lit and a dark haired woman strapped to a wooden chair. In front of her stands a bearded man with long black hair with the sides shaved and he’s holding a book open in his right hand with his left hand raised above the woman.
“You prophesized the end and you were unaware of how soon that end would come to fruition…”
Leah pulls the camera to her self.
“This is the guy I was telling you about… He looks to have captured a poor defenseless woman and has tied her down against her own will…”
The camera is quickly pulled back to the crack in the window.
“The masses have over looked my Brotherhood for far too long sense the doors of FCW have come to a close… You told me that another place would rise in its place, you swore that The Plague would have it’s second coming my love.. The ink has dried on the pages of our next chapter and another landscape to lay waste to… Through the dust and debris I will rise to claim this world and everything that is within it…”
A loud metal clang is heard and Leah shoots a look to Carl.
“Carl…! What the hell?”
Just as Leah turns back to the window she is met by Kevin Bishop staring her right in the face.
“Nosy media shouldn’t report things they’re unaware of, don’t you think?”
Kevin grabs Leah by the loose bun in her hair and Carl drops the camera as he runs away.
“Carl! Help me you fat fuck!“
Carl runs and almost falls over a trash can.
“Whoa! Sorry LEAH! THIS FAT FUCK’S LOOKING OUT FOR HIMSELF!“
The camera points up as Kevin pulls Leah through the open window.
“Come now Leah, don’t fight what you know is already set in motion…“
As the camera sits on the ground, the sound of high heels walking on the pavement can be heard approaching the camera. A face comes into view above the camera and it’s the face of the woman who was tied up. She shakes her head and picks up the camera, carrying it inside in the process.
“Now, where was I my dear?”
Kevin ties Leah to the chair as the other woman walks up with the camera.
“You were speaking of my prophecy of the not so distant future… my love.”
Kevin smirks as he tightens the straps on Leah.
“That is correct… Before I was rudely interrupted by this blood thirsty media whore with a microphone and a camera…”
Kevin slowly wipes a black smudge off of Leah’s left cheek.
“You see… My wife does in fact have a sixth sense and she can see events that’ll happen before they unfold… So when I speak of the end, falling upon us all very soon… Well let’s just say you should heed her warning and take cover for your own good… If there’s anything I can teach you my dear Leah, it is you have to be selfish in this world… You have to look out for yourself just like Fat Fuck Carl! I mean isn’t that what this whole Generation Me is all about… Feeling like you’re self entitled to whatever it is in this world you see fit?”
Leah interrupts Kevin.
“You must be pretty damn crazy to really think there’s truth to that and if you think I’m anything like what you accuse me of being. I’ve worked hard to be the best damn reporter that I can possibly be and all I needed was a camera and my microphone to get the scoop.”
Kevin chuckles.
“Now come on, you can see where that little camera and microphone are getting you right now… Can’t you?”
Leah tries to wiggle her way out of her restraints.
“Try as you might, but it’ll be for not… I have a little something to get off of my chest and I’m going to use you as my medium… The best part is, you don’t have a choice.”
Kevin snaps his fingers and Karma wraps a rag around Leah’s mouth and head. Kevin pulls a wooden chair up and sits in front of Leah.
“I have been to many a places Leah… I have wrestled giants and men who claimed to be the greatest… I’ve wrestled the saviors of the masses and I’ve wrestled men who claimed to have a darker soul than that of my own… But in the end it was The Plague… My Plague that rose from the ashes of their total destruction… Truth be told… No matter the fight that is put forth by those who oppose me… The Plague always finds a way to rise.”
Leah muffles and Kevin places his right hand to his right ear.
“What is that? I can’t quite hear that… I’m assuming you’re calling me a monster… I know… I know… That’s what they always call me… But if they only tried to see my vision as the revival that it truly is… I want to rebuild this dying world in my own image and I want to take those who are self entitled and bring them to their bowing knees…”
Kevin smacks the side of his head and shakes it off.
“I know what you’re thinking… I sound like some worthless kid who has an axe to grind against those who are more fortunate… I’ll give you that, there may be a little reality to that claim, but here’s the thing… I grew up on the streets of New York alone and I know what it’s like to work yourself up from nothing, so when I do look around at all of the millennials, it makes me sick… It’s even worse in the wrestling world…”
Kevin grabs Leah by the rag on her mouth.
“Wrestling… That’s what you’re here for right? Trying to use The Plague as your way of getting a reporter job with some wrestling company? You think I haven’t noticed you following me?”
Kevin shoves Leah’s head back.
“Give me more credit than that Leah… You think my eyes are only made up of myself’s and Karma‘s? I have eyes everywhere… All of those loyal followers of my Brotherhood… They would gladly lay their lives down for the cause…”
Leah clinches her eyes shut trying to look away from Kevin.
“Come now my dear… I’m not here to bring you pain… It’s quite the opposite actually… I want to awaken you and help you transcend this very plain of existence… Tell me… As you walk your golden streets and you sit upon your pyre and toss stones down at the lower masses… Do you ever for once feel remorse? Do you ever think if you’ve gone too far?”
Kevin grabs Leah’s head and brings his face up close to hers.
“Open you eyes and stare the truth in the face… How can the blind learn to be again if the world shuts them out? You hold your eyes shut because it is within me that the beacon of revolt against humanity can be found and you feel inadequate… I hold the key to your immortality… All I ask for in return… Is your allegiance… Fall upon your knees and bare the cross of the plague… Bring forth your burnt offerings in his name and you too will be able to breathe in the purest of air… Bask in the brightest of light and repel the darkness that is seeking you out in this cruel world…”
After Kevin’s last words, Leah’s eyes open as if showing an understanding.
“Do you see it now?”
Kevin smiles wide.
“The brilliance is shining brighter than ever right in front of you… It calls to you…”
Leah nods and Kevin lowers her mouth gag.
“Does the truth resonate with you?”
Leah smiles and Kevin drops back.
“The only truth I see you sick sadistic bastard is just that, you’re insane!”
Just then, Karma smacks Leah across the face and Kevin pulls her away.
“Karma, calm yourself, it’d be foolish to think she’d be ready to follow so soon… Now make yourself useful and ready the room for her…”
Karma smirks as she looks at Leah and she then quickly turns away walking off toward an open door in the warehouse.
“You two won’t get away with this! I won’t do shit for you and I won’t be some brainwashed follower of some crazed lunatic!”
Kevin pulls the gag back up over Leah’s mouth and he holds his hands over her mouth.
“Soon… You won’t be able to escape the inevitable future you shield your eyes from…”
Kevin looks over and sees the camera sitting on the ground.
“You came here to spy on me, eh? Try to find out what The Plague is all about behind closed doors… Well here‘s your one off chance and it‘ll be produced by non other than The Plague himself… You‘re looking for the scoop on the newest acquisition to World Championship Federation… Another no name company that‘ll be devoured and spit back out for it is the will of The Plague…”
Karma walks back into the room with an old beat up wheel chair and it squeals as she inches toward Leah.
“Have fun my love, but remember… We need her alive…”
Karma smiles wide as she grabs Leah up by the hair and drags her into the wheel chair.
“I’ll promise that she’ll be mostly alive after I’m done…”
Karma kisses Kevin on the cheek and she whisks Leah away with the wheels squeaking into the distance.
“Leah… Just remember that this is for your own good…”
Kevin mocking laughs as he lifts the camera up and places it on the wooden chair that Leah was sitting in. He adjusts the camera up so its staring up at him.
“Here I am… The harbinger of the black death… The man who lays waste to civilizations of kings who have ruled kingdoms made up of empty promises and false truths… There is only one man who can bring prosperity back to this world… And you’re looking at him. So many walk around this Earth looking for a meaning in this life and for what end result? I bring meaning and I bring reward… The loyal followers of the WCF are soon going to find out just what I mean when I speak my truths… I will deliver on every promise and in the end… their eyes will be opened…”
Kevin shoves his hand in his right pant pocket and he pulls out a folded piece of paper. He opens it and holds in front of himself.
“This right here is my first WCF scheduled match up… The first stepping stone that The Plague has come across is a man by the name of Tony Miranda… He claims to be a new world warrior… I’m sure he is unaware that this new world is not his to defend and fight for… This world belongs to The Plague and guys like Tony Miranda are mere pawns in an end game that’ll leave this entire company gasping for their final breath… My track record speaks for itself Tony… Every company I’ve worked for has learned quickly just what kind of vision I have and they either fall in line or they’re forced to fall in line… Be it OWC, N-Y-Underground, THW, or even FCW… I have held their gold and I have vanquished their demons… So before you pick up your shield and puff your chest out to show your will to fight… Take this as an omen of what’s to come… You may walk into our match with your head held high but the man who leaves will be an empty shell of a man who can barely cling to his own reality… Your mind will no longer belong to you and your will to keep going will be ripped from your lifeless body by sheer force…”
Kevin shakes his head at the camera.
“You don’t understand… It’s okay, because very soon yours eyes will be opened to the truth… The end that is coming is INEVITABLE and you’re just the first victim of The Plague in WCF… My Brotherhood is coming and it’s only a matter of time before the entire WCF comes falling down around you all…”
Kevin runs his right hand through his hair and holds on tightly.
“Many men have tried to derail me and they have failed time and time again… You will be no different Tony… I bring with me a pedigree of self determination and a will to survive at all cost… This message of death that I bring… It starts with you, but it doesn’t simply end there… You see, you’re the catalyst to this whole WCF takeover… You’ll play your part and in the end you will watch me rise from the flat of your back… Try as you might, bring everything you’ve got, but it still won’t be enough… This match up between us isn’t some fluffed up underdog Cinderella story… It’s going to be grueling and you’re going to be tortured… Now I suggest you wait… Wait and let the build up take its course… Sit there and think about the outcomes that could happen during our encounter… I’m here to tell you that all outcomes end the same no matter how you try to twist it… My hand raised and your light snuffed out…”
Kevin smiles wide as he picks the camera up and holds in front of his face.
“You can’t escape the inevitable end that has already been written for you… So all I can say is… Your eyes are going to be opened to the truth very soon Tony Miranda… And it‘s just days away… See you soon…”
Kevin clicks the camera off and we fade to black.
