Act I: I’m so mean, I make medicine sick
Mikey eXtreme sat in a dark room. There was just enough light trickling through the window blinds to make out his face.
mikey extreme: There seems to be a major problem in the WCF right now. A return to hardcore has apparently begun but a certain individual is trying t do everything they can to make sure it doesn’t happen.
The Hardcore style is something that I have thrived at during my career. It’s something that I’ve loved to do.
But now? Nathaniel Chambers has decided to bastardize and destroy this division. He has decided to make it a laughing stock. To him, he has decided that this division should be used to give him an advantage.
Why?
Mikey knew the answer.
Mikey would put an end to this disaster soon. First, he had to deal with Apocalypse.
mikey extreme: Chambers will have to wait. For now, my attention must be put on Apocalypse. I must defeat him in order to take MY hardcore championship away from Nathaniel.
And that shouldn’t be a hard task.
I mean, honestly, what has Apocalypse ever done? Hell, I barely even know WHO Apocalypse is. I must have been too busy carving my name into the stone that is the history of the WCF to ever notice who Apocalypse even is.
This was true. Mikey wasn’t even sure if he was ever even on the roster with Apocalypse. He had heard something about Apoc being part of the AoD, but again, Mikey never cared about them. They just weren’t important to him.
Would he take Apocalypse seriously? To some extent.
II. Darkness
The backdoor of the old abandoned house creaked as Mikey pushed it open. There was a stagnant musk that filled the air, but went virtually unnoticed by Mikey, Freakshow, and Vidalia. They made their way deep into the house, it was dark so they moved slowly. Suddenly, Mikey opened up a door that lead to the basement.
mikey extreme: We can stay here for the night.
Mikey was sick of the luxurious hotels that they had been staying in recently. It was all too much for him.
mikey extreme: This is how we’re supposed to roll. We don’t have to conform to any norms. We can just be ourselves.
Vidalia looked at Mikey with doubt in her eyes, she would much rather be in the hotels than old dirty abandoned houses, but she would keep quiet. She was falling harder and harder for Mikey with each passing day. Their relationship was moving way past the physical nature that it had started as, well for her, at least.
mikey extreme: Everything okay, Vi?
Mikey always had had feelings for Vidalia, but he would never speak of them. For now, the physical bond they had was enough for Mikey.
vidalia: Yeah, everything is fine,
It really wasn’t.
mikey extreme: You could always get a hotel for yourself, It’d be fine with me.
It wouldn’t be.
vidalia: No, this is okay.
She didn’t want to spend the night without him, she craved his presence. She would do anything for him, and deep down, he knew that.
mikey extreme: We’ll get the sleeping bags out of the van. This is camp tonight.
Mikey leaned up against the wall and slid down to a sitting position on the floor. His head, which was up against the wall, was killing him. It had ached for some time now. Mikey knew that it was the darkness, that they were summoning him. He was still the Dark Lord of America, after all.
But, Mikey assumed this pain was the darkness calling him, trying to get his attention. He was afraid that the darkness had given up on him because he lost the United States championship. That was not the case though. Mikey was the champion of the darkness, he did all that he could to spread it’s reches across the world.
As for the United States championship, Mikey had not lost it. It was Steve Orbit who had lost it. Mikey was not involved in the decision and thus, in his eyes, had never lost the United States title.
But, the WCF had vacated and got rid of the United States title, and thus, Mikey had shifted his eyes and his focus elsewhere. That lead him to the Hardcore championship. A championship that Zombie McMorris had made famous that was being butchered by the likes of Nathan Chambers.
Previously, Andre Holmes had held the belt, but he tucked his tail between his legs when it finally hit him that he would have to face Mikey eXtreme in a brutal hardcore match. He ran. He fled. He now hides out in Chicago or someplace like that.
But the Hardcore championship would bring a very high amount of happiness to the Dark Lords and Mikey knew that. He knew that he had to win this belt to satisfy them and to stay in good favor. He knew that he had to destroy and dismantle Apocalypse on the way. It was the ONLY way. He had to do all that he could. He had to show the world that Apocalypse was nothing compared to him.
Mikey would kill him in the ring if he had to.
That was just how Mikey rolled. He didn’t care who he fought. His goal was to end them, the utterly destroy them to the point that they could not continue. Look at his resume, he had practically killed Chelsea Armstrong during (and after) their match. He had brought so much to Bernard Core that he had to retire, he hammered the final nail into the coffin of Vengeance’s career.
What was next?
Mikey sought to end the career of Apocalypse the same way. To destroy him and bring him to places that he had never imagined possible. To show him the meaning of hardcore, not this bastardized “perfection” that had been floating around lately.
But Mikey sat there, his head against the wall. He felt a slight comfort from the pressure that was being applied. Freakshow walked by, dropping Mikey’s sleeping bag at his feet. Freakshow brought his own sleeping bag to the corner of the room. It was darkest over there, and Freakshow could keep on eye on everything in the room, including the stairs that lead to the basement. There would be no surprises.
Vidalia made her way towards Mikey and sat down next to him.
vidalia: Sucks about last week.
With this headache, Mikey had almost forgotten his loss in the WCF Classic. His quest for the world championship had come to a quick end at the hands of The Game.
mikey extreme: Yeah.
Mikey sighed.
mikey extreme: I don’t know what happened. Too much whiskey, maybe?
Mikey laughed. There was no such thing as too much whiskey.
mikey extreme: I’ll get it next time.
Mikey was cool and calm on the outside, but his insides were on fire over the loss. His chest hurt, but more importantly, his pride was broken. He had lost to a rookie, and in one of the biggest matches in recent memory.
That title shot meant a lot to Mikey, well, the shot didn’t mean anything, the belt itself is what meant a lot to Mikey. Mikey was determined to hold WCF gold. He was determined to be the greatest WCF champion of all time.
His US title reign had already shown the world what he was capable of. His US title reign had already proven that Mikey was a top caliber champion. But, the world title would have to wait, Mikey’s eyes had shifted to the hardcore championship.
mikey extreme: This time, we have a chance at getting that hardcore championship. We just gotta get through Apocalypse.
vidalia: Who?
mikey extreme: Some complete and utterly useless pile of shit that is on the WCF roster. Think the dude won a match a few years ago… and then he came back last week and beat a bunch of nobodies. I mean seriously, am I supposed to be scared of a guy who beat the likes of Buzzsaw Bundy?
They both laughed.
vidalia: You got this.
mikey extreme: The dude paints his face like a demon. That’s supposed to scare the King of Darkness?? Ha! The things I have seen and done, and I’m supposed to be scared of a dude that paints himself up like a demon?
But that’s fine. Let him think he’s a demon.
When he steps inside that ring with me, he’ll learn what a true demon really is. He see how a true demon really works. When he looks into my eyes, he will see what hell really feels like. When he looks into these eyes, his soul will begin to leave it’s body. The Darkness will claim another victim and another soul or the chamber.
The scene fades abruptly.
III. Brown
The scene opens to find Hank Brown knocking on the door of the abandoned house.
hank brown: You have got to be kidding me.. I gotta come here to do this interview? This place looks like its about to collapse.
Suddenly, the door opens and Mikey eXtreme is standing in front of Hank.
mikey extreme: Hello?
hank brown: I’m here for the interview.
mikey extreme: Interview? Who are you?
Hank rolls his eyes.
hank brown: You know who I am..
mikey extreme: Excuse me, sir, you don’t come to my house and bang on the door and then give me an attitude.
hank brown: This… this is not your house.
mikey extreme: Oh.
Mikey laughs.
mikey extreme: So, what do you want?
hank brown: Can I come in? We need to start this interview,, I have other places to be.
mikey extreme: I’m sorry, I don’t just let strangers in my house. Especially when they’re rude to me from the beginning.
Hank can’t believe Mikey, but at this point he should expect this kind of behavior.
hank brown: Fine, how are you coping with your loss in the WCF Classic?
mikey extreme: It’s behind me, Hank.
hank brown: But a win in that tournament would have crowned you the world heavyweight champion. That doesn’t sting?
At this point, Hank was trying to jab Mikey as a way to get back at him for all the horrible things he has done to him in the past.
mikey extreme: I don’t care, Hank. I set out to win that damned tournament, but it didn’t happen. I wasn’t mentally there.
hank brown: You can say that again!
Mikey shot Hank a stare that shut Hank up immediately.
mikey extreme: I should have won, but I didn’t. That’s that. That’s final. There’s nothing I can do about it now. I don’t care. I’ll be back, I get that title eventually. But for now, I have my mind elsewhere.
hank brown: Apocalypse?
mikey extreme: That’s right, Hank. I can’t live in the past when the future looks so.. bright.
hank brown: What’s so bright about a match with Apocalypse?
mikey extreme: Once I beat the ever living shit out of Apoc, I move on to bigger and better things. I get one step closer to taking that Hardcore title away from Nathan Chambers.
hank brown: You mean the Perfectio--
Mikey slapped Hank across the face before he could finish.
mikey extreme: You call that title the Hardcore title, and that’s that.
hank brown: I’m sorry, but to get to him, you must beat Apocalypse.
mikey extreme: Yes, and that should be no problem. A walk in the park, if you’re into that kind of thing.
hank brown: I am.
mikey extreme: Shut it, Hank. This match is barely even a match. I’m the main event of WCF and they have me matched up against the curtain jerking Apocalypse. Why? Was there nobody left to put in a match with Apoc and since everyone else was too afraid to step inside my ring with me, Seth just decided to slap us together?
This a disgrace. I am the Dark Lord of America. The King of eXtreme, and yet.. Here I am.. Wrestling a nobody in front of these no good worthless fans.
hank brown: They pay to see you, though.
mikey extreme: Everybody pays to see me, Hank. Hell, even the WCF pays me for you talking to me, Hank! Probably even more than they pay you!
Mikey laughed.
mikey extreme: But, that’s what it takes when you hve the greatest living competitor in WCF history. When you have a champion of my caliber, and an athlete of my ability.
hank brown: Athlete? You just kinda throw yourself around and hope you do damage.
Mikey rolled his eyes.
mikey extreme: You’re not funny, Hank.
Hank sensing the tension in the air switches topics.
hank brown: So, I hear you and Zombie McMorris are forming a tag team?
mikey extreme: Forming? Hank, this team has been around for so long now. We’re one of the most dominant teams in WCF right now. We’ll be tag team champions in no time. Just wait, Hank.
hank brown: That’s a bold statement.
mikey extreme: That’s the damned truth, Hank.
hank brown: Well, you guys have meshed pretty good as a team so far.
mikey extreme: Tomorrow we’re even gonna go to the Zoo. What better way to build a strong team than to spend the day looking at caged animals and laughing at them because they’re too stupid to escape.
Mikey laughed.
mikey extreme: Kind of like Apocalypse. He’s just too stupid to escape that ring once my music hits and I walk down to that ring. And just like that stupid Gorilla at the Cleavland Zoo, this will be the end for Apoc. This will be his very last stand as I deliver the fatal gunshot right to his dome and put him down.
And I’ll be doing the world a favor. I’ll be saving the WCF Galaxy from another useless and boring Apocalypse match. And no, Hank, I don’t need a thank you, I don’t need any applause.. The only thing I will need in return is my shot at Nathan Chambers. My shot at the WCF Hardcore title.
Hell, we can even bring Apoc with us. I’ll beat the both of them. I’ll do it with my eyes closed. I’ll do it with my arms tied behind my back. Hell, I almost beat.. And I should have beat Kaz Mazy with one arm tied behind my back, but Danny Anderson had to eat the pin while I dealt with the 35 guys that Kaz had come to the ring to defeat me.
That’s how good I am.
This Sunday, at Slam, Apocalypse will learn that. He will see first hand just how ferocious I can be. Justs how hungry I am for the success that has been stolen from me.
This Sunday at Slam is the death of Apocalypse. The end of an era for an udeserving schmuck who just doesn’t have a clue. He just doesn’t know what he’s getting himself into.. And that’s fine. He’ll quickly learn.
hank brown: Any final words for Apocalypse?
mikey extreme: Run, Apoc. Run as far as you can. Run as fast as you can. The darkness is trailing right behind you. Inching ever so close, reaching out and grasping for your soul. I know you can feel it. I know you can sense it. It’s coming from deep inside you, gripping at your every breath.
It wants to take over, and it will. Just stop fighting it.
Run and hide. Let the darkness do it’s work, and stay away from this match. You will get to live another day and the darkness will claim another victim, another soul. But you’ll get to go on.. You’ll get to see another day unlike Chelsea Armstrong.
Just remember that, Apoc. I have given you a fair warning and a chance to save yourself from the clutches of eXtreme.
Once this chapter is done, the rise and fall of Nathan Chambers will be the next story in the Book of eXtreme.
hank brown: This Sunday, the one and only Mikey eXtreme will take on Apocalypse with a shot at the Hardcore title on the line. Will Mikey prevail? Or will Apocalypse seize the opportunity at hand? Only time will tell! Tune in this Sunday LIVE for another episode of WCF Slam!
Mikey eXtreme grabs Hank by his shirt.
mikey extreme: Apocalypse will not seize anything, Hank. He has no chance.
Mikey drops Hank to the floor and slams the door as the scene fades.
