Asked for his release and it was granted today. So he is no longer employed by WWE.
He's 30 and in his prime, very talented guy. Do you guys see him going to another promotion? Or maybe he's done with the business? He probably has a nice chunk of change between his checks and I'm guessing some sort of inheritance from Dusty.
I'd love to see him go to Japan or ROH and start kicking ass.

I think he's likely to take a break. He can go make babies with Eden for a few years and come back still in his prime. I think Cody's great personally; tons of charisma and solid in the ring. Just wish he didn't stick with that stupid Stardust gimmick for so long.

It's a shame, I was always a huge Cody fan and wished they used him more.
I also really liked his Stardust character but the Stardust/Goldust WM payout never happened and they should have ended Stardust with that.

He's great and the WWE has made a huge mistake with him. I think he's been the victim of poor booking and actually has suffered due to NXT guys being the focus. He was crying out for a repackaging and re-push but NXT guys come first I guess.
TNA would do well to make him one of their top guys alongside EC3, Galloway and Eli Drake (if his alleged attitude problems are sorted out).
For him, the best bet is probably to take some time off and eventually re-emerge in Japan.

He put a statement out on twitter basically saying he left because of the booking, and hinted at trying some Hollywood stuff but ended saying that he's a wrestler and he will continue to wrestle. I'd link it but I'm on my phone and lazy.

My favorite thing was calling out a writer for trying to hit on developmental divas. Good for him for that whole thing though.
Whatever he goes to do, I hope he's succesful. Unlike Sandow, I think Cody has what it takes to make it wherever he wants to go, so I'm excited to see what's next.

I know that Vince and Dusty had a feud for awhile. Do you think some of that may have been why Cody has always been pushed to the side?
I haven't watched wrestling in years, but last I saw of Cody Rhodes, he was doing great things in the ring. A real talented grappler and has excellent charisma, whether he's being serious or funny.
Whatever he does, I think he'll do just fine. Even in Hollywood.

Cody was unhappy with the Stardust character and wanted to be himself.

Don't see why they couldn't have stuck with the Dashing/Undashing gimmick. I think that was one of his best work, hell he pulled off any gimmick really. I'm sure he'll do good somewhere else he's too talented not too.

He posted a list of everyone he wants to fight - he's going to apparently find a way to work in every notable company there is. Hopefully he saves Shibata for last, lest he be murdered before his indie career can even begin.
