WCF Classic 2008
This was the very first ... and at the time meant to be the ONLY WCF Classic Tournament to ever take place. It was an event all in itself and it encompassed a full month of WCF programming. No Slam, no other Pay Per View events ... it was the WCF Classic that everyone was talking about.
This inaugural tournament was meant to crown a last ever WCF World Champion and in effect was used to strip Creeping Death of the world title. The participants to this tournament included Lawnmower Jones, Outcast, Chino, Danny Vice, Thunder, Biohazard, JJ Biggs, Creeping Death, Bobby Cairo, Skyler Striker, Steve Carr and Seth Lerch himself.
Creeping Death, who began the tournament by being stripped of the World Championship became the winner of the very first WCF Classic recapturing his World Championship after 4 weeks of competition and defeating, JJ Biggs, Bobby Cairo, and Steve Carr to do so!
WCF Classic 2010
The reintroduction of the WCF Classic came with a twist in 2010. This would not be a singles competition tournament. This was the first, and only tag team Classic Tournament. Now this tournament had it's established tag teams competing, but it also held a Lethal Lottery which paired up 10 singles superstars into 5 random teams. To boot, the winners of the tournament would recieve one million dollars each!(In character.) This is not to mention that Tag Team Champions (The Royal Family) were IN the tournament so that only sweetened the pot even more so as with every bracket, their championships were on the line.
Established teams such as The Big Time Jerks, The New Confederacy, The Ladykillers, Metal Militia and as mentioned, tag champions The Royal Family. In addition to this, we had such teams as Ace Slaughter and Tank Reaper, Fort Knox and Abril, Hector Rodriguez and Donald Deruty, Ryan Daniels and Batman Blazer <-- (yes apparently that was a WCF wrestler!), Trent Townsend and Anastasia Petrova, Brad Kane and Mikami and Slickie T and Kevin Hardaway.
Creeping Death and Torture (The Metal Militia) defeated The Big Time Jerks (Adam Young and Austin Adams), The Ladykillers (Jay Price and Greenfever), Hector Rodriguez and Donald Deruty and then The Big Time Jerks again (see below) to win the WCF Tag Team Classic and become WCF Tag Team Champions.
The Big Time Jerks who were defeated by CD and Torture early, won a wildcard spot to earn their way back into the tournament. Subsequently they defeated the Royal Family to become Tag Team Champions and make it to the finals. Thus the WCF Tag Championships changed hands twice during this tournament.
This also gave Creeping Death two WCF Classic victories, the only WCF star to ever do so despite one tournament being singles and the other tag.
WCF Classic 2011
Terry Roberts, Jason Kash, Roy Speede, Doc Henry, Jay Price, John Thomas, King Jimmy Dean vs Mr. FPV, Shane Borderland, Ana Valentine, Creeping Death, Captain Punishment, Philip Baines and Greenfever all competed in the second installment of the SINGLES Classic in which we found the Hardcore Championship AND US Championship on the line during the tournament and a guaranteed WCF World Championship shot for the winner of the tournament.
Philip Baines defeated Greenfever, Creeping Death, Jason Kash and Mr. FPV to win the 2011 WCF Classic. During this time he also became the WCF Hardcore Champion in Round 1 when he defeated Greenfever.
Philip Baines never took his opportunity for the WCF World Championship after winning the tournament.
WCF Classic 2012
By 2012, the WCF Classic had become a staple of tournaments. Trilogy, Trios, they all followed but it was the Classic that started it all. 2012's version saw competitors such as Steve Orbit, Benjamin Atreyu, Stuart Slane, Johnny Stylez, Roy Speede, Tek, Odin Balfore, Tommy Kain, Henri Ducos, Oblivion, Dake Ken, FPV, Eric Price, Sarah Twilight, Nathan von Liebert and Waylon Cash. As usual, a world title shot awaited the winner but this year ... also a ride in Seth's helicoptor! (Long story but he tried to bury the company by buying a bunch of crap he didn't need. A helicoptor ride over beautiful Reading, PA was included in the Classic deal.)
Henri Ducos did enter the WCF Classic as the WCF Television Champion, however that championship was not on the line at any time during this tournament and therefore never changed hands.
Sarah Twilight defeated Eric Price, Nathan von Liebert, Henri Ducos and Benjamin Atreyu to win the 2012 WCF Classic becoming the first and thus far only woman to do so.
Sarah Twilight did eventually cash in her world title shot opportunity but passed on the helicopter ride.
WCF Classic 2014
After skipping a year, the Classic re-emerged in 2014 giving opportunities to such stars as Marc Mayhem, Kaz Mazy, Ultimate Destroyer, Cormack MacNeil, Deuce Murdock, Ryan Blake, Alex Richards, Seifer Black Armstrong, Jayson Price, Steeltoe Joe, Jeff Purse, Doc Henry, Gravedigger, Roy Speede, Johnny Reb and Oblivion. The United States Championship was on the line during this tournament as Roy Speede was Champion when the tournament started. As always the main prize is a guaranteed WCF World Championship opportunity.
Deuce Murdock defeated Ryan Blake, Alex Richards, Kaz Mazy and Roy Speede to become the 2014 WCF Classic winner as well as the WCF United Stated Champion.
Deuce Murdock also never cashed in his WCF World Championship opportunity.
