Firstly! Doom is a hot topic, newly released game and such.
The single player campaign seems to be reviewed quite favorably. Haven't gone past the intro myself.
I played some multiplayer tonight and ran into the same thing I always do!
-It feels just like every other FPS out there, just with a Doom skin.
When I first got a decent PC, I was excited to play Crysis 3, which I did to much excitement - though lately I'm not sure if there are people still playing it. That said, the gameplay isn't different enough between that and Battlefront and Doom to really make me care that much!
My dad raised me on Wolfenstein so I'd have preferred that to get the multiplayer treatment before Doom, though I know i'm in the minority.
Random thoughts?

Truthfully all I really want is a sequel to Goldeneye/Perfect Dark.

I enjoyed Perfect Dark Zero even though it had its flaws. But yes, still wish we had a Perfect Dark 2. And of course, let's not forget Half Life 2 - Episode 3. Or would it be Half Life 3 at this point?

Goldeneye for N64 holy shit all the days I remember playing that with friends every damn day after school, be like 10 of us taking turns 2 v 2 (pre-online gaming when 4 players had to be in the same room haha) and not having to give up a controller so long as you kept winning. The Facility was THEE map! Also we played WCW Nitro for N64 ... at the time it had the biggest playable roster of any wrestling game. Ohhhh the memories!
Editted: I put WCF Nitro lmao! Best typo though.

I remember playing Doom 3D back in the nineties. Back then, it was a pioneer for fps because it had 'all original skin'. Then again, you could tip the strippers and with the right cheat code, they would strip.

I think you're thinking of Duke Nukem!

Yeah, Duke Nukem was the one with the strippers and sometimes hilarious (if somewhat unoriginal) dialogue.

I recently drunkenly purchased, finally, Duke Nukem Forever after watching Tommy Wiseau review it. Haven't played it much yet but it seems.. not totally terrible..

World's most bizarre actor, Tommy Wiseau? Correct! Though you're not being fair. He's not just an actor. He's a writer, producer, film maker... he's an artist.
