Firstly! I was really excited by the amount of people that volunteered for what can be a thankless job. I received a lot of great candidates - but I don't want a gigantic team. As the fed grows, more admin spots may open up - but for now a smaller team is really all we need.
When making my selections, I went through a bunch of different teams in my mind and had a ton of different criteria.
Firstly, welcoming back the two returning admins:
COREY BLACK
and
ODIN BALFORE
Obviously I respect everyone that stayed here, but despite being in other feds and going through all of the WCF bullshit we've been through all these years, Corey has shown himself to be extremely level headed and has, at every step of the way, tried to do what's best for the fed.
Same for ZMAC. Having arrived during a hiatus of mine, ever since ZMAC has proven himself not only a creative force to be reckoned with but someone else who has always had the best of the fed at heart. He's someone I've disagreed with fairly often!, which is indeed something I was looking for in the admin team - but I respect him immensely and he and Corey both bring years of experience to the table.
Now! Onto the two new admins.
THOMAS URIEL BATES
and
JEFF PURSE
To me, Bates has shown himself a professional player of the roleplaying game. He also brings an extremely different perspective than my own which is always valued. Although he only recently returned to the WCF he's also shown the ability to have a level head, see both sides of issues, and brings a great deal of maturity to the table.
Jeff Purse has been here for a number of years and has basically seen it all - he's made it through his share of drama, moreso than most others on the roster, and in all of his years here even if he took a break from roleplaying he never took a break from being a presence in the fed, at least not for long. The years of loyalty mean a lot as well as his reactions to everything I've seen the fed go through in that time.
No easy decisions here. The people I DIDN'T choose are probably the lucky ones. The admins are only a small part of the puzzle of what makes WCF great - and I appreciate everyone's activity and everything that has been going on in the past week. We're in the middle of reshaping the fed, to an extent, and everyone is part of that.
So again, congrats - or my apologies - to the new admins. I'll be assigning the new powers later tonight at which time we can head to the admin lounge for punch and pie.
