Greetings, my loyal citizens of the International Community Excluding Japan! What would WCF be without the egomaniacal Dag thinking he has some sort of diplomatic influence over the world and the right to tell its citizens how to live all because he has the perfect title for himself, the International Championship? In my view of Dag, that is truly the most complimentary belt for him to have and it's very important to his character. He has a million and one reasons why only he is suited to represent the idea of an international establishment breaching borders to unite cultures, ideologies, and ethnicities- only for them to eradicated and replaced by the superior way, his way. It gives him a platform to voice his views on current events, politics, social issues, and other things, and the attention it garners is part of why the Kalmar United Front recruited him based on the knowledge he's shown while speaking with it.
These are all reasons I want to take this opportunity to further elevate the championship among the ranks of WCF's elite and bring competition to the title scene. At the same time, I need Dag to still come off as the slimy, cheating, evasive, trolling, cunt who will do absolutely anything to hold onto it. He is not afraid to make himself look like a chickenshit, because he knows the brutality he is capable of and wants his opponents to underestimate him. He is all about mindgames and psyching his opponent into making mistakes or getting themselves DQ'd. That said, the biggest thing he has to brag about right now is the complete lack of competition qualified for his belt's foreign born requirement.
To continue to keep focus on the belt, I want to make the International Championship Open Challenge an integral part of WCF Slam. I intend on finding new and interesting ways to build Dag and the belt, and the option is always there that this can be worked into bigger angles at any point in the feud. It could start one, or even have a rival of Dag's cost him the belt to his opponent, which would unleash a hellish fury the likes of which can only be imagined. I will find ways to make this belt important even if I do not have challengers at the moment.
But just because I don't have challengers for it doesn't mean the belt can't be a major factor in an angle. Looking at the current purified roster, I'm seeing a lot of opportunities. Tiffany and Teo, you both approached me about working before I won my title, and since I'm fairly free this could be a good time to work something out when either of you has the chance. I can think of many possibilities to make a feud with the People's Champion vs. International Champion very high stakes, with the will of the people taking on the will of a ruthless would be dictator who would just as soon crush their freedom of will.
If I can fantasy book for a minute, I think it would be awesome to have Mikey eXtreme vs. Thomas Bates for the vacant US Championship. I believe the Family is sticking together (on that note Chance Von Crank should show up sometime soon and may not even know anything happened here, so we should totally act like nothing did and see if he figures it out
) so Mikey eXtreme would have Dag on his side in a quest to gain in disputed control of Earth, with the World, International, and US Championships. Now that is a tough match to call, and if Bates gets the upper hand I could see Dag getting frustrated and deciding to try and save face by changing his stance and saying the US title is unimportant and trying to prove that in a non-title Champion vs. Champion match. To have Dag's International Community dictatorship against Bates' free America would be very exciting, especially with the similarities and differences in the two characters.
So to wrap this up, I want to work with anyone who's interested on making the most of this almost total reboot and keeping the International Championship important even if it doesn't get regularly defended at PPV matches. I want to elevate it by expanding on the principle behind it, and doing things like Bernard Core did in his bid for the US Title. I want to give Dag a better voice and a more developed character, and with the friendlier atmosphere here I think it will be a lot easier and more rewarding to do that and I look forward to this chance to make an impact. If anyone has their own ideas, thoughts, or suggestions, I welcome you all to speak up in this thread. Thanks for your attention!
