Your Name:
Mark
Wrestler's name:
'The Shine' Brent Alpine
Gimmick:
Delusional megalomaniac with a messiah complex. Physically imposing, charisma galore, good looking and prodigiously talented yet scarred with a fragile and combustible personality. Will he finally fulfil his boundless potential or will his vulnerability again conquer him?
History: 2014 was the year of Brent Alpine. Wrestling dirtsheets and pundits were ablaze with chatter of his promise. The early signs were good with a strong TV Title reign and impressive victories over WCF legends like Johnny Reb, Oblivion, Logan and Nathan von Liebert.
Sadly, the journey of his bourgeoning brilliance came to a shrieking halt following a series of nervous breakdowns. Feeling bullied and buried under the weight of a sandbag, he departed the WCF in a cloud of mystery and shame.
Now aged 27, rumour has it that Alpine has recently been released from a psychiatric institution and is preparing for his WCF return. He has suffered severe memory loss and believes he's just starting his wrestling career.
As part of their new pastoral care initiative, WCF management have been recruiting an entourage of good counsel (named E.M.S.) to safeguard Brent's mental, spiritual, emotional and physical health. A couple of them may be familiar to some...
Height/weight:
6ft6, 259ibs
Hometown:
Rockhampton, Australia
Alignment (Face/heel/neutral):
Heel
Appearance/attire:
Entrance and music: (NOTE ON ENTRANCES: Please try and keep lyrics to a minimum, and try to keep your entrance itself to a few paragraphs or so at most. Be detailed, but sometimes less is more!)
A ghostly synth breathes over the PA.
The first keyboard chord of Prince's 'Gold' blares as a red shooting star firework darts up from the entrance-way to the left rafters. The second chord chimes as the arena lights flash red. The third chord accompanies a light blue star shoots to the upper right of the arena. Blue lights flash to greet the fourth chord.
Percy Micro, a micro pig with an electronic voice-box, scurries down the ramp to laughs and an ironic pop from the crowd. He is followed by the other member of the E.M.S. entourage, 'The Vulture' Dallas Culture.
As the main tune commences, a yellow spotlight covers the entrance as 'The Shine' Brent Alpine steps out from the back to sneers. A shower of sparks surround him, eliciting a brief pop at the spectacle. Alpine keeps walking, slides into the ring and jumps onto the turnbuckle. The pig 'speaks' in a robotic tone.
Percy Micro: Introducing our cherished commodity, from Rockhampton, Australia, weighing 259 pounds... 'The Shine'... Brent... Alpine!
'The Shine' glares in comical intensity and lifts up the back of his suit jacket like a Batman cape. He dismounts and hangs his jacket on the turnbuckle. He leaps onto the opposite turnbuckle. He removes his tie and long white shirt and throws them into the crowd, now ready for the match ahead. Dallas Culture collects Percy in his arms.
Style (Technical, hardcore, brawler, powerhouse, high flying, etc.):
Powerful high flyer - think a young Scott Steiner
Favorite Moves (At least 5):
Enziguri, Huricanrana, Hanging Suplex, Russian Leg Sweep, Spinning Leg Drop, Leg Hook Reverse STO, Diving Leg Drop, Powerbomb, Cannonball Senton (opponent on ground against turnbuckle), Standing Moonsault
Trademark move and description:
Fruit of the Vine (Chemical Imbalance 2/Double Pumphandle Wheelbarrow Driver) - move goes straight into pin
Mount Unpleasant (Camel Clutch) - Brent will often say things like 'I'm sorry', 'This is just business', 'I mean you no harm' while performing this move
Finisher and description:
The Glow Worm (cutthroat swinging neckbreaker - usually preceded by a kick to the gut)
Manager? If so, name and description: E.M.S. (Earth Moon Son) - Percy Micro, 'The Vulture' Dallas Culture (and, formerly, Esther)
Earth is represented by the returning Percy Micro. He is a miniature pig with a fitted voicebox and a 360 degree camera on his/its face. He is Brent's psychiatrist - cynical, atheistic, rational. He is an expert at verbally psychologically deconstructing Brent's opponents. It is unclear who 'operates' the voice/camera/brain behind Percy but the pig body is, true to nature, hilariously uncontrollable.
Moon symbolises 'The Vulture' Dallas Culture. Culture is Alpine's cousin. Having failed in his own wrestling career and being expelled as a yoga teacher after sucking a nubile client's toes without her consent, Culture is now dedicating himself to being Alpine's wellness and spiritual guru. He is a hippy full of theories about peace, love , self actualisation and consciousness.
Son (spelt deliberately son as in Son of God and not sun) relates to Esther who has recently been fired from Brent's entourage. She is a pretty yet unassuming young nurse who provided Brent's medical care. She is unashamedly Christian; a bleeding heart, a pillar of social justice, a 'Jesus freak'. She clashes markedly with Dallas and Percy's philosophies on life and wants to help Brent down what she feels is the right path. However, despite hints of mutual romantic feelings, Brent fired Esther under the blackmail of Percy Micro. She is still in the picture but Alpine is forbidden from seeing her.
