I've been thinking about everything since Sunday night. I could probably write a huge, huge thing here, but that probably isn't necessary.
I created WCF about sixteen years ago - it has been "a thing" over half my life. I've run it basically my entire adult life with few hiatuses.
At the end of the day, the only real reason I decided to shut down wasn't because I wanted to, but because of other people and other people's opinions. Which is a dumb reason to end something I've given so much of myself to, and that many of you have, too.
I still want to run WCF and participate in efedding, so if people are still interested, that's what we're going to do!
In between the moments of negativity about everything that has happened, I'm excited for this fresh start. Unfortunately I don't know who all is interested in being here!, obviously I know some, and thank you to everyone that contacted me. What I'm excited about is that whoever does want to be here, I think there should be a lot of opportunity on several fronts. A fresh start is going to be nice.
I'm done with any of the subjects of controversy in the previous thread. I was really transparent there, and I'm not interested in going back over anything on the boards. If anyone has specific questions for me I'm happy to talk about it via PM!, or Facebook, or whatever. And going forward I hope you guys are more open to coming to me with concerns rather than letting things build up!
So where do we go from here?
1. I'm going to post a sign up thread for if you're still here. Respond there and let me know if you're going to post a new roster page or if you want me to move your old one back.
2. I'm going to try to do Slam results. I have no idea what matches I did or didn't get, but anything not submitted I won't be writing as I'm mainly looking forward to moving on. I'll conclude the show with an in character explanation as to WCF's huge changes that are coming up, roster wise. I may or may not use segments, unsure about that, just want to get this done. If anyone wrote stuff and didn't submit it and reads this, feel free to send my way.
3. No ill will towards anyone!, and I'd be happy as a clam if everyone involved came back since there isn't really a person on the roster I don't like. I realize that won't be happening, but just saying. That said, when I'm doing Slam results I don't plan on assassinating any characters or anything so no worries.
4. New card will go up Sunday for the first of our new shows most likely.
5. Titles will depends on roster size; that said, any current Champions that rejoin will retain their belts. Unification matches may become necessary?, who knows.
6. Despite Sunday, I'm not going to be changing my philosophy on much of anything. I've run this fed the best I can and always done what I thought was right in any given scenario, and I've admitted any mistakes I've made, in my opinion. Again, PM me if you have any issues with anything as I'm not perfect!, and there is certainly room for misunderstandings. But for better or worse, I'm the same old Seth that has been running the fed since whenever, just to get that out of the way.
7. Even though this is a fresh start, I've decided to keep ban statuses as they are. Anyone that is currently permabanned remains permabanned, for instance.
8. I will be looking for a new admin team. Obviously old mods are welcome to reapply - if anyone is still interested. I'm looking for a variety of things from admins, and I'm looking to build a diverse team, so there are a number of things that'll go into it. PM me if you're interested.
9. No in character posts until the card is up and I get the boards set up again.
10. Lastly, and this is entirely possible, if we don't get enough interest to get things back off the ground, I'll return to doing the idea of one last show to end things on. We'll see.
So yeah! There's probably a lot I left out. Feel free to post here as normal.
For whatever reason, efedding attracts negativity, and at times I feel like it brings out the worst in people. Myself incuded!, it's natural. My mission here hasn't changed. I want to minimize that. I want everyone to work together as much as they can, and when shit comes up, to hash it out and move on. I expect us all to disagree at times and have heated arguments - but in a respectful way. And be open and honest with each other, not worry about egos... Let's all just be cool.
