Monday April 25th, 10:30 am
The scene opens with a confident looking Dustin Beaver, dressed in one of his fine suits, sitting in a comfortable leather business chair across from the desk of Mr. Jones in his office at the Canadian branch of the International Management Group (IMG). The Beavs was called in for a meeting with Mr. Jones to discuss his recent wrestling performance and how his Beaveater drink sales were going. Dustin felt good about the news he would soon be hearing, based on this status as one half of the number one contenders for the WSeaF tag team titles with #BlackBeaver. Beaver turned his gaze from the art that adorned the walls of Jones’ office to Jones himself, as the agent cleared his throat.
Mr. Jones: “Well Dustin, I suppose I’ll just get right to it. You’re recent performance has been great. You were excellent in your bid for the WCF Hardcore title and the 18-25 year old male bracket love #BlackBeaver and what you’ve been doing there. Getting a shout out from Patrick Kane during the Stanley Cup playoffs was HUGE for sales in the Midwestern United States.”
Beavs was smiling from ear to ear.
Dustin Beaver: “Well what can I say, Mr. Jones? Greatness recognizes greatness, and from our meet up that we had, Mr. Kane realizes that Dustin Beaver is THE man in the wrestling game today.”
Just as Beaver was reaching max self-confidence, the smile from Mr. Jones’ face faded as he continued to speak.
Mr. Jones: “However even with all of this greatness, your Beaveater sales are dipping a bit more than the Beefeater people would like to see.”
The smile on Dustin’s face was quickly replaced with a frown.
DB: “I don’t understand how that’s possible. I’ve been going out there and not only dominating, but entertaining the shit out of these fucking people!”
Jones shuffled threw some papers on his desk.
Mr. Jones: “We were thinking the same thing, so we actually went ahead and did some research to see where the sales numbers were dropping at.”
Jones tossed aside some papers as he set one paper in front of Beavs, so that Dustin was able to examine it.
Mr. Jones: “Apparently, sales among two groups in particular are uncomfortably low. As you can see from the paper in front of you, those two groups are females aged 21-30 and males aged 41-50. The Beefeater people feel that these numbers could and should be significantly stronger.”
Beaver shook his head from side to side as he glanced at the numbers sheet in front of him, eventually tossing it aside in frustration.
DB: “Well what the hell do they want me to do?! I damn near killed myself trying to win that damn hardcore title!”
Jones reached into a drawer in his desk and tossed two manila folders in front of Dustin.
Mr. Jones: “Well the beauty part about that is with the Trios Tournament coming up in WCF, we already came up with a plan for you!”
Jones pointed to the two folders in front of Beavs.
Mr. Jones: “We polled a large sample from both of those groups and came up with a solution. Based on the results from those polls, the Beaveater representatives hand picked the two people you’ll be tagging with for the Trios Tournament!”
Beaver looked incredulously at Jones.
DB: "Picked my partners for me? Are you crazy? I'm obviously going to partner with two of my #beachkrew boys, that's just the way it is."
Jones looked down at his desk for a moment, eventually returning his gaze to Dustin. However when Jones looked at Beaver this time, there was a more serious expression on his face.
Mr. Jones: "Listen here, kid, if you don't partner with these two wrestlers they picked for you, they're going to pull the Beaveater deal off the table. That will be it, no second chance."
Beavs sat back in his chair, looking towards the window of the office. Dustin was sure that #beachkrew would understand if he had to pair up with a couple of scrubs to keep the Beaveater deal. What Beaver wasn't sure about was if he could actually function on a team with wrestlers that weren't in #beachkrew. He didn't want to go out there and embarrass himself partnering with two unknown commodities. For all Beavs knew, embarrassing himself in the Trios tournament might get the Beaveater deal yanked anyways. Dustin looked back towards the desk and stared at the two folders that Jones had thrown in front of him. He decided that he should probably at least take a look at who the Beefeater people had picked for him before he made his final decision.
DB: "Well, I guess I might take a look at this shit."
Beaver opened the first folder and started laughing when he saw the picture.
DB: "Really, Mr. Jones? "Brilliant" Benjamin Atreyu? I mean seriously, the guy might have been good at one point in his career, but nowadays he's too busy reading books to legitimately step into a wrestling ring."
Jones shrugged.
Mr. Jones: "Well the male 41-50 year old age bracket very much likes him for that book reading and intelligence. And need I remind you that Mr. Atreyu was the one that beat you out for a spot in the Trilogy Cup Tournament in a qualifying match you were both a part of."
Beavs scowled.
DB: "Yeah, I remember that all too well unfortunately. I would also like to remind you, Mr. Jones, that I had the most eliminations in that match AND Mr. Atreyu was NOT the one who eliminated me."
Dustin slammed the folder closed.
DB: "But with that said, Atreyu did have a... satisfactory showing against the 6ix God in the tournament, so I suppose I could give him a shot. Depending on who my other partner would be, of course."
A smirk, almost evil in appearance, came across Jones' face after hearing Beaver's thoughts on the matter.
Mr. Jones: "Well that's very mature of you Dustin. And speaking of that Trilogy Cup Tournament qualifying match, your other potential partner was a participant as well. The Beefeater people picked him because the female 21-30 year old age bracket thinks he's "dreamy", and honestly, he didn't seem like that bad of a guy when I spoke with him on the phone."
Beavs sat in thought for a moment as he tried to recall everyone that was a part of that match. Jones chuckled as Beaver continued to think.
Mr. Jones: "I think you know this second partner...quite well. As a matter of fact, having gone back and watched that match, he was the one that eliminated you from the match..."
Dustin immediately turned pale and stared at the second folder on the desk.
DB: "No, it can't be him."
Beavs looked up at Jones with a sense of urgency showing on his face.
DB: "Please, Mr. Jones, anyone but him. I...I fucking HATE that guy!"
Jones dismissed Beaver's pleas with a wave of his hand.
Mr. Jones: "Dustin, come on, I know you two have had your differences in the past, but we've already talked to his representatives and he has signed off on teaming with you."
Beavs looked back down at the second folder and slowly opened it. Eventually the folder sat open all the way, and the face Beaver knew would be there stared smugly back up at him.
DB: "Mr. Jones, why the hell would Occulo ever agree to tag with me? For that matter, why would Atreyu agree to tag with me? Occulo and I hate each other and he's a Sentinel. I know for a fact that those douchebags despise #beachkrew. And then Atreyu was in House of Ophelia, another group that was full of #beachkrew haters that hated us because they ain't us."
Jones leaned in closer to Dustin, resting his elbows on his desk.
Mr. Jones: "Well to secure Mr. Atreyu's services it took a substantial monetary donation to him and his causes. However, to get Occulo to agree to the deal, all it took was for us to ask him."
Beavs stroked his chin as he tried to wrap his head around this whole situation. He wondered why the hell Occulo, likely his biggest rival since joining the WSeaF, would EVER agree to partner with him. And to agree to do so without any kind of extra motivation, Beaver knew that the Sentinel had to have some kind of ulterior motive.
DB: "Mr. Jones, I'm not 100% sure what the deal is here, but Occulo would NEVER agree to partner with me under normal circumstances. He has to be up to something, you have to tell the Beefeater people that he is just trying to scheme a way of taking me out, and that they need to pick someone else for me to team with."
Jones laughed.
Mr. Jones: "Dustin, my boy, you are so paranoid! Look, these two are the only options for partners that you're getting from the Beefeater people. I already told you what's at stake if you don't agree to form this team, so as your agent, I strongly suggest you agree to their demands."
Jones then stuck his index finger up in the air as he seemed to remember something. He then rifled through the datebook on his desk and stopped on a page, pointing at it as he did so.
Mr. Jones: “Occulo actually reached out to us the other day. He knew I had a meeting coming up with you about this issue. He flew into Toronto last night and he wanted you to meet him at a bench in Saint James Park, right next to two “twisty looking” trees.”
Beavs stared disapprovingly at Jones.
DB: “I’m telling you, he’s going to have a couple of his boys with him and jump me when I get there. It’s so obvious that it’s ridiculous!”
Jones slammed the datebook on his desk so hard that Beaver jumped back in his chair a little bit.
Mr. Jones: “Listen here kid, you’re meeting Occulo at the damn park and you’re forming this damn team! I’m going to tell the Beefeater people that you’re more than happy to agree to this deal and that’s that…understand?”
Jones’ action surprised Dustin, as he had never been this demanding of him before. Beavs could tell that his agent was serious about this thing going down and if he wanted to keep the business aspect of his career rolling, Beaver was going to have to suck it up and go through with the formation of this Trios team.
DB: “Alright Mr. Jones…I’ll do it, when am I supposed to go meet…Occulo at the park?”
Jones smiled and looked at his Rolex watch.
Mr. Jones: “Well it looks like it’s almost 11 right now. It looks like he wanted to meet you there around noon. How about I buy you lunch somewhere close to there and then you meet up with him afterwards?”
Dustin nodded.
DB: “Yeah that sounds good to me. Let’s go for it.”
Jones pointed at Beavs.
Mr. Jones: “Now that my boy is the right attitude!”
Monday April 25th, 11:50 am
Beaver finished up his lunch with Mr. Jones and walked a couple of blocks away from where they ate to Saint James Park. The park looked beautiful this time of year with the leaves just beginning to bud on all of the trees and the grass finally turning green once again. Dustin slowly trudged through the park, not at all looking forward to what he was about to go down. Eventually, Beaver reached an opening in the park where it appeared two trees had grown and their two trunks had twisted together. Just to the left of the two trees sitting on a bench, Beavs saw the man he never thought he would see outside of a wrestling ring, Occulo, reading a book. Dustin took one more slow, painful step towards Occulo and the Sentinel looked up, smiling and putting a bookmark in his book. He waived his hand at Dustin, motioning for Beavs to join him at his spot near the trees.
Occulo: “It’s alright, Beaver, I come in peace! How about you join me over here?”
Dustin cautiously continued to move closer to the bench, looking around himself the entire way. Occulo laughed at the display.
Occulo: “I’m serious this time, Dusty; I really just want to talk about us forming a team. I think this could be good for both of us.”
Beavs snickered at the statement.
DB: “Oh really? I don’t get it man, what exactly are you getting out of this?”
Occulo grinned; he looked to Beaver like a man that knew something Beavs didn’t.
Occulo: “Dustin, this move is totally on the level. I know we’ve had our past…disagreements. But I’ve also seen you at the height of your game. You’re good, Dustin, very good. I just think you need to step outside of the #beachkrew shell and see that there’s more out there for you.”
Beaver continued to stare at Occulo.
DB: “So that’s it, huh? You want me out of #beachkrew to that you and your fucking thugs can take me out for good, right?”
In one swift motion, Occulo stood up and got right up into Beavs’ face.
Occulo: “Listen here, our feud is done. Frankly, I could give a shit about your little #beachkrew posse. But you, you’ve shown more than that; you’ve shown that you don’t need to rely on underhanded tactics match after match to get the job done. And with your #1 contender for the tag team titles status, you’ve shown that you can perform more than adequately in a team environment.”
Occulo looked and the ground for a moment, shaking his head back and forth before he looked at Dustin again.
Occulo: “You want to know what I get out of this, Dusty. I get the chance to fucking win; you and Atreyu are excellent in team environments. Flash is busy with a plan of his own for this Trios tournament and Dune is in no condition to wrestle. Atreyu is a highly intelligent individual with past tag title reigns with different partners and a great showing in the Trilogy Cup tournament. He knows how to win and obviously works well when matched with the right teammates. And you Beaver, you have more potential here than a lot of the riff raff I see try to make a living in the WCF. Hell, you’re still in your first year and you beat me at the biggest event of the year. It was no bullshit, I make no excuses, you got the job done. Now you’re knocking on the door to win those tag titles, I mean, that’s no fucking joke.”
Beavs scratched the back of his head. It was really strange for him to hear Occulo of all people praising his achievements.
DB: “Well I mean…I totally appreciate you saying all that. But, I mean…can’t you see how this seems like a strange idea to me?”
Occulo nodded and then turned around, looking at the twisting trees behind him. He then pointed.
Occulo: “Do you see those trees over there? What do those look like to you?”
Dustin looked at the intertwining trees. He just said the first thing that came to his mind.
DB: “Um, well I guess they kind of look like snakes wrapped together or something.”
Occulo’s eyes went wide as he pointed at Beaver with both hands.
Occulo: “Exactly, they look like a couple of snakes that could strike at any second. Do you know why a snake is so dangerous?
Beavs scratched the back of his head again. All of this thinking was beginning to hurt his brain.
DB: “Uh, because they can bite you quickly and kill you?”
Occulo nodded.
Occulo: “That’s right. And not only can they bite you out of nowhere, if they’re a constrictor, they can snatch you without warning, wrap you up and squeeze the life out of you. They’ll crush you at their leisure and you’ll never see it coming. Snakes can kill you in different ways and they can make it so that you see nothing coming either way. That’s why you, I and Atreyu would make such a dangerous team. We can be that snake that surprises everyone with the way we take them out and they’ll never see it coming no matter what we do.”
Dustin rubbed his chin. What Occulo said made plenty of sense. Beaver actually felt a sense of pride knowing that his biggest enemy actually thought of him as a great partner for this game plan he had come up with. Beaver, Occulo and Atreyu. Beavs’ eyes went wide as he made a realization.
DB: “Our names!”
Occulo looked quizzically at Dustin, as Beaver continued to have a ridiculous looking smile now plastered across his face.
Occulo: “Our names?”
DB: “Beaver, Occulo and Atreyu! B, O, and A! We could be Team BOA, like the snake!”
Occulo laughed.
Occulo: “Well I mean, yeah, that’s…that’s actually a great idea, Dustin. That was very impressive quick thinking right there. And that’s why this is going to work, you’re quick thinking and moves in the ring are the perfect complement to what Atreyu and I bring to this team. So what do you say, Beaver, is it a deal?”
Occulo stuck his hand out, waiting for Beavs’ handshake. Dustin shook his head, he couldn’t believe what he was about to agree to, but he knew it was for the best. Beaver looked Occulo in the eye and gripped his hand tightly.
DB: “It’s a deal, Team BOA it is.”
Occulo: “Perfect, I’ve already been in touch with Benjamin, he’ll be in town tomorrow and then we can get started on training for our first round matchup.”
Dustin looked questioningly at Occulo.
DB: “Do you already know who we’re facing then?”
Occulo pulled his phone out of his pocket and cycled through it for a moment.
Occulo: “Well I had already anticipated that you would agree to this teaming, knowing what was at stake for you. So I had already entered us as a team and I received the notification of who we would be facing earlier this morning.”
Beavs chuckled.
DB: “Pretty brave move of you there. But hey, I suppose it worked out. So who do we have?”
Occulo read from his phone.
Occulo: “Your team’s first round opponent will be the team of CJ Phoenix, Cormack MacNeill and Shadowlove, good luck!”
Beaver punched his right fist into his open left hand.
DB: “Those fuckers don’t even know what’s about to hit them. Team BOA is going to show them who’s going to win this damn tournament and it starts with knocking them the fuck out!”
Occulo put a hand up to ease Dustin off a bit.
Occulo: “Well don’t underestimate them, we’re a brand new team as well, and we have quite a bit of work to do this week. Oh and Dusty, I have a…special request of you this week.”
Beaver looked at Occulo, waiting for what was going to be asked of him.
DB: “What you got for me?”
Occulo: “When you cut a promo for this week, try to do it… oh how do I say this… try to do it without being an asshole.”
Beavs laughed.
DB: “Ha ha, well what am I supposed to act like? Do you want me to be some kind of nice guy that sucks their Ds?!”
Occulo shook his head.
Occulo: “No nothing like that, but say who they are and why you’re going to be them without sounding like a complete douchebag. It is possible, trust me!”
Dustin was slightly offended by Occulo’s request. But he figured that he might as well try to see what he could come up with.
DB: “You got it, chief. Dustin Beaver will try to be as…respectful as possible.”
Occulo nodded in agreement and then looked down at his watch.
Occulo: “Perfect, thanks Beaver; I really appreciate you trying that out for me. But I better get going for now, I have some other business to attend to.”
DB: “Oh ok, well I should probably get going myself.”
Occulo smiled at Beaver, something Dustin thought unthinkable for ever happening in his lifetime. Occulo then extended his arm and the two shook hands once again.
Occulo: “I already got your number from Mr. Jones, I’ll text you tomorrow once Atreyu arrives and we can begin training.”
Beavs smirked and nodded.
DB: “Sounds good to me, my man. See you tomorrow... Team BOA, bitches!”
Occulo laughed a real, genuine laugh.
Occulo: “Yes quite, see you tomorrow, Dustin.”
And with that, Occulo walked away and out of the park, leaving Beavs by himself. Beaver went and sat down on the bench he had saw Occulo sitting on when they had first met that day. This whole situation was a lot for Dustin to take in in one day. He pulled his phone out of his pocket, thinking about the match he would have at the end of the week. Beavs navigated to the #beachkrew live youtube channel and started to record, making sure he looked good in the picture.
DB: “Hey there Beavlievers and… #beachkrew groupies, this has been an interesting day to say the least. With the Trios Tournament just around the corner, yours truly, the Supreme Beavliever, has formed a team. Now I don’t think this is the team you’re expecting, but I have my reasons for agreeing to sign on for this, I hope that you’ll trust the Great Beaver to make a decision, even when that decision may seem strange or weird at first.
"
Dustin looked hopefully into the camera.
DB: “With that said I would like to officially announce that I will be partnering with…Occulo and Benjamin Atreyu and entering the Trios Tournament as Team BOA. I won’t get into the details of how this partnership came about as it would take way the hell too long, but just know that it wasn’t done hastily or without a lot of thought.”
Beavs then decided to shift gears.
DB: “Now with this team formed, our first round opponents have also been announced. Team BOA will be taking on the team of CJ Phoenix, Cormack MacNeill and Shadowlove in the first round. Now I have plenty to say about these fuccbo…”
Just before finishing his insult, Beaver thought about what Occulo had asked of him for his promo this week. Dustin had told Occulo he would try his best to clean it up and he was going to stick to his word.
DB: “Erm, plenty to say about these, um, competitors so I’ll just get right into it. I’ll start with a recent opponent of mine in the man they call Shadowlove.”
Dustin smiled as he recalled the violent chaos that was the Hardcore title match that he was recently a part of.
DB: “We both were recent participants in a Hardcore title match a couple of weeks ago, that several competitors were a part of. Now while neither one of us managed to win that match, Dustin Beaver still managed to pull of several high profile spots, like when I showed up fashionably late with a cart full of goodies, threw firecrackers like a mutha fuckin’ Hadouken and did a beautiful frog splash off the top turnbuckle with a damn chair, son!”
Beaver scratched his head.
DB: “And where were you, Shadowlove? I mean really, who the hell knows?! You were practically invisible in that match, getting whipped around by everyone else like… uh, Willow Smith’s hair…”
Beavs then pointed his finger in the air as he remembered something.
DB: “And if you needed any further proof that the Great Beaver knows how to upstage you, look no further than our crazy 12 man no disqualification clusterfuck match just over a month back where I partnered with #beachkrew to dismantle you and five other…um, wrestlers who should have known better than to mess with the best. Look buddy, you just need to face facts. I know how to beat you with a team and I’ll have no problem doing it again with a different team. Maybe one day you’ll figure out what it takes to step up to the next level, but make no mistake. When you do figure it out, it sure as hell won’t be against Dustin Beaver.”
Beaver smiled as he recalled an OLD memory.
DB: “Speaking of taking the next step and people I’ve beaten in the past, let’s talk about ol’ Cormack MacNeill. I don’t know if you’ll remember this Cormack because it seems like forever ago now and I know your memory might not be as good since you’re getting up there in the years, but… you were the first person I ever beat in the WSeaF!”
Dustin nodded, remembering the feeling of picking up that first win.
DB: “Yes that’s right, I teamed with that crazy clown, Riddlebox…I wonder what happened to that guy, I miss him, he was pretty cool. Anyways, I teamed with Riddlebox and we defeated the Clan MacNeill, you and Conall, for my first ever win in professional wrestling. Now here comes the really bad news for you, ol’ Cormack.”
Beavs pointed to himself.
DB: “I have done nothing but get better since then. I’ve had a two month SeaV title reign, a win at the biggest WSeaF event of the year, and I'm now one half of the number one contenders for the tag team titles. I’ve had numerous wins since that first one months ago and I guaran-damn-tee you that the Dustin Beaver you see now is WAY better than the Dustin Beaver back then.”
Beavs then held his arm up; as if there was something he didn’t know.
DB: “What have you done since then, Mr. MacNeill? Well I would say not much since you disappeared shortly after that and reappeared just recently. Look Cormack, I don’t have a problem with you personally, but here’s the fact of the matter. I beat you when I still had no idea what the hell I was really doing and now…now I’m…”
Dustin recalled an anime he had been watching the previous night before finishing his statement.
DB: “Now I’m like a Super Saiyan God compared to that young student Beaver. Being that SSG, I will have no problem defeating you at my max power level while you stare on in awe, not knowing what even hit you until it’s too late.”
A smirk came across Beavs’ face.
DB: “You see that’s what Team BOA is all about. I, Occulo and Benjamin Atreyu are the team that no one expected. Three guys that don’t seem like they can work together, but when we’re on the same page, which Beavlieve me, we will be, we’ll strike and we’ll strike with nothing but death blows in mind.”
Beaver then rubbed his chin in thought before speaking again.
DB: “And speaking of death blows, that brings me to Team BOA’s last opponent for Slam, CJ Phoenix. I haven’t had the pleasure of dispatching Mr. Phoenix in a WSeaF ring as of yet, but I do recall having this crazy dream where I was killing zombies with Phoenix and some others one time… I remember that I killed the most zombies winning that match, and so I’m going to say that does count as beating you CJ, so I’ve beaten you too!”
Dustin’s expression then turned into a scowl.
DB: “I mean, breaking a guy’s back, really CJ? What do you think you’re the first one around here trying to make a name for yourself by pulling off a goon move like that? Listen kid, I was trying to choke the life out of Bonnie Blue before you even thought about stepping into a wrestling ring. Though my attitude may have slightly changed, don’t think that I won’t get you to quit by breaking your spirit with the beating I hand out to you. An eye for an eye, am I right? Fair is fair, that’s the way I see it, so go ahead, take your best shot at the Great Beaver…Just be ready to get it right back, and then a hell of a lot more. I don’t let anyone around here make a fool out of me and if you’re a fool enough to try, well, let’s just say that you won’t be the first one to know the wrath of Dustin Beaver.”
Dustin held up three fingers.
DB: “That makes it a clean three for three that Dustin Beaver has beaten on this three person team that Team BOA will be facing on Sunday at Arena Mexico in Mexico City. While the names of my partners and the circumstances may have changed, the result will be no different. In any situation, the Great Beaver is a winner, it’s just what I know how to do. Occulo and Benjamin Atreyu, are they winners? I would say that their multiple title reigns from both of them speak for themselves. I hope that the WSeaF is ready for Team BOA, because when we strike, we’re going to strike fast and without mercy…BEAVLIEVE THAT.”
