THE OVER-HYPED EXPENDABLES SIX REMAKE FALLS FLAT
Sylvester Stallone’s boxing promoting company, "Tiger Eye Productions" and the world’s leading subscription service Netflix had struck a deal to create a made for television reboot of The Expendables, entitled Expendables Six. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the deal between Sylvester Stallone and Seth Lerch has fallen through. Either funding issues with writer/director/producer Sylvester Stallone is believed to be the behind the deal's collapse or a falling out with WCF owner Seth Lerch is to blame. While the plan falling apart may be bad news for the WCF as the company tries to grow into a more mature network, it's bad news not only for WCF Superstars as well as the entire WCF Galaxy as well. Hollywood would have been experimenting with short-form ideas, to reboot the success of the WWE “Rock and Wrestling” Connection back the mid 1980’s, that ultimately could have turned the WCF into something bigger, better, badder for everyone in the WCF Galaxy.
Though "Tiger Eye Productions" and Netflix and the WCF can't say for certain that “funding” issues led to the deal's collapse, it says there was some confusion over who would be paying for the projects. As part of the deal falling through, however, the WCF is said to have lost out on a multi-million dollar sponsorship from one major marketer that had agreed to back not only this project, but other projects as well. It would mark a major loss for the WCF, which has been growing quickly in popularity but seems to have stumbled lately.
The Expendables Six television reboot has been passed around a number of times with the WWE and TNA but eventually landing on the doorstep of the WCF without ever reaching the pre-production stage. It began when, with the success of “CREED” forced writer, producer, director Sylvester Stallone to dropped out of the project and was replaced by head of talent relations, K. L. Henson. WCF “Rookie” Sensation “The Handsome Halfbreed” Shadowlove, along with his personal bodyguard/valet Ms. Miyamoto, were said be lined up starring roles. However, following the outcome of the No Disqualification Match during the WCF’s SLAM and along with the announcement of K.L. Hensen taking over, this epic deal seems to be on life-support at best.
The WCF and Netflix are still on the lookout for the proper roles for WCF “Rookie” Sensation “The Handsome Half-Breed” Shadowlove, along with his personal bodyguard/valet Ms. Miyamoto. The Hollywood Reporter and wrestling sources close to the WCF are reporting that no matter the outcome of the Television Championship Match, it is sky's the limit for this brash, “Rookie” Sensation.
The Hollywood Reporter asked WCF owner Seth Lerch for a comment:
“For me, it all comes down to ratings and box-office success. “The Handsome Half-breed” Shadowlove is a rare “Breed”, no pun intended, in the WCF. Fiercely ambitious. Masterfully manipulative. Wonderfully brilliant. He is hypnotically mesmerizing both in and out of the ring. Definitely a Champion in the making. There is far more at work here than what meets the eye. You saw that during, what turned out to be, A No Disqualification 'Handicap' Match with the #BeachKrew. Shadowlove showed true heart and true grit against a more formidable stable with the likes of Superstar talent Wade Moor, Johnny Rabid, Jared Holmes, Dustin Beaver, Kyle Kemp, and Andre Aquarius. It was plain to see that not only did Zombie McMorris, Vengeance, Mikey eXtreme, Teo Del Sol, Katherine Phoenix sell their team out for their own egotistical reasons, they also sold Shadowlove out at the end of the match. It was pretty amazing to watch how Shadowlove never gave up when the odds were against him and his future looked grim or is that grime? I can never tell these days! Definitely, a man among boys, when it comes to getting “over” with the fans.”
And in other news, sources close to The Hollywood Reporter and the WCF saw #BeachKrew members hanging out with “The Hoff” himself, David Hasselhoff on St. Patrick's Day. Could there be a possible “Beach” Movie in their future or were they just eating hamburgers off the floor after partying hardy?
