In what has been described as "a remarkable, spontaneous display of magnanimity" WCF wrestler Jared Holmes has given the City of Detroit, Michigan, a gift: a new outdoor park. The park, "Holmes Park", was proposed earlier this week, fast-tracked through approval within hours, and will be finished by this Saturday in a whirlwind of construction.
"The City of Detroit was the city of America until now. I find it sickening that we can roll through once or twice a year and do nothing; how can anyone do nothing when things are so dire?" stated Holmes, in an interview with local Detroit television. Last Sunday, Holmes and his faction "#BeachKrew" wrestled in a twelve-man no DQ tag match on WCF Slam, a match which the FCC has been hesitant to release. Outside of his work as a professional wrestler, Holmes is the son of Paramont Executive Edward J. Holmes, a man whose net worth was estimated to place him as the twentieth richest man in America.
The park's cost is being entirely footed by the Oblivion Foundation, a non-profit run by Holmes which helps at-risk youth. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be on Wednesday at 10:30 am. Live music will be provided by Eminem, KISS, and Danny Brown.
