WCF wrestler Andre Holmes is under fire for climbing to the second rope, putting his crotch in front of house show ring announcer, Christine Hemie, and pelvic thrusting into her face during Tuesday nights WCF house show in San Antonio, Texas.
Holmes went to the ring, backed Hemie into a corner, and had his crotch in her face whilst she introduced his opponent. Hemie was said to have been shook up following the incident leading to several fans taking to social media to voice how they believed what Andre did was "unacceptable."
Freddy Whoa, WCF Slam announcer and Wednesday Night Show host, says Andre Holmes will be disciplined for the incident involving Holmes and Christine Hemie. Just as significant, Whoa unhesitatingly described what happened as sexual harassment.
“We have a zero tolerance policy for sexual harassment,” Whoa said. “The issue at hand has been discussed and Holmes is being disciplined."
“I’m not sure specifically how the discipline will be handled. To what extent, I don’t know. This is certainly something we don’t condone and don’t tolerate. Such behavior is not welcome."
From seeing the incident live and watching the footage I was presented, I don't think there's much doubt that Holmes wasn't just being "relentless". His actions look deliberate and Hemie does not appear to me to be enjoying "playing along".
Bullying is a word that gets thrown around a lot these days, but this seems to at least be that, and a sexual form of it.
Holmes is one of the more entertaining guys on the WCF roster right now, but as a company with large corporate partners, these kind of actions are not going to be viewed favorably by the powers that be.
As of yet Seth Lerch and K.L. Henson have not commented, but perhaps an apology is in order? Or should Holmes be suspended or fired?
What do you think? However you viewed the incident, it doesn't seem to be going away and does not look good for Holmes prospects with the WCF.
