Since WCF Superstars Dag Riddik and "Six God" Jared Holmes have made public comments expressing skepticism in Joey Flash's new finisher "The World", which became a viral sensation this week-end, WCF fans have been angrily sending their "The World" t-shirts back to WCF demanding a refund.
The comments, remarking that hyped finished "the World" consisted of a botched drop-toe hold, sent fans scurrying to their DVRs Thursday morning. Upon review, many were horrified to find that the observations of Riddik and Holmes were accurate.
"I feel betrayed. Raped, even," said 27-year-old fan Justin Chambers of Kansas City, who like many others had purchased the shirt after following Flash's hints on Twitter and watched Time Bomb.
"It just felt so real at the time. Maybe we were so convinced the World was going to be cool, we just reacted rather than thinking," said 25-year-old fan Evan Montgomery of Texas, adding "I'm never rooting for that con artist Joey Flash again."
The wave of returned merchandise has been unprecedented, wounding a company already struggling to meet its financial obligations.
