The setting is a large wooden stage with a black backdrop. There are two comfortable chairs placed on the stage, with a small wooden end table between them. Upon the table is two glasses full of water. The set-up looks familiar, but not distinct. It is definitely the location of some form of interview, yet the precise style isn’t obvious to the viewer. The camera then turns around 180 degrees and shows a large auditorium full of chairs. Seated in these chairs are cardboard cutouts of what looks to be students of some kind. Finally, the scene looks much more familiar, as we are on the set of “Inside the Actor’s Studio”.
From offstage to the right of the viewer, walks Jimmy Vice, dressed to the nines as James Lipton. His blue suit pressed top to bottom. The light rimmed glasses resting on the end of his nose. A reddish-brown wig covers his head, showing the mostly bald head of Lipton and full beard and mustache. Jimmy looks like a stunt double for Lipton himself. He grabs a seat as a fake applause tape is played through the auditorium. Jimmy looks directly into the camera, mimicking the mannerisms of the deliberate Lipton as he delivers his opening lines.
Jimmy Vice as James Lipton: Today…is a truly special day. Today…we celebrate the career, lifestyle, and accomplishments of one of the truly heroes and legends of the World Championship Federation. Today…my guest…is the great, Logan.
The applause track hits once again as Danny Vice steps on stage, mirroring Logan in appearance. He has a Special Forces tattoo on his shoulder, a short brown haired wig upon his head, even blue contacts to mirror his eyes. He grabs the empty seats, acknowledges the fake crowd, and takes a sip from his glass of water.
Jimmy Vice as James Lipton: Remarkable…it truly is…to be in the presence of such greatness.
Danny Vice as Logan: I completely agree, I have that effect on people.
Jimmy Vice as James Lipton: Your ability in the ring…unparalleled…unmarred…imaginative…prodigious…utopian.
