We see a grey cloudy backdrop, and this only. We hear the sound of strong wind, but oddly see no evidence of it. After a few seconds, we just about make out the silhouettes of two men, who stand a slightly darker shade of grey. They are tall and both have long dark hair, braided into a pony tail. They talk in Japanese.
Left: So, you have been watching for exactly one year now
Right: Yes, I’m not that impressed
We zoom in to the man on the left. He is wearing a white coat with black pants, his hands firmly planted in to his pockets. A sword with a blue diamond sits snug in a sheath on his right hip. We see in text, the name “Akuma” appear at the bottom of the screen. His eyes are firmly closed, and his hands are clasped together behind his back.
Akuma: Has he taken on a certain fighting style? Any particular discipline or form?
Right: No. He is without any kind of master at all. His father taught him for a while, just crude, thug like fighting. Sluggish and lazy punches and kicks devoid of any art at all.
Akuma: What happened to his Father?
Right: Dead
Akuma’s eyes open slowly
Akuma: Dead?
Right: He became entrapped in what he kept calling “The Cold”. Of this, I have no knowledge.
Akuma: Interesting. So, he is without any form of master at all now…
Right: Correct
Akuma: Has he any loved ones?
Right: A girl. Blonde. Very pretty. They are to wed.
Akuma: Interesting...tell me about his last fight.
Right: It was against a man tainted by an otherworldly presence. He stands amongst a band of men called The Sentinels.
Akuma: The Sentinels…
Right: Yes.
Akuma’s closed eyes point at the ground for a few silent seconds
Akuma: He must become detached from The Sentinels. If he is to learn with undivided attention. Bonnie will be most useful.
Right: Yes. His mind must be clear of any sexual frustration.
Akuma: Quite. This is all I need. The boy requires a master. I will send…
Right: …
There is another few seconds of silence. Akuma opens his eyes and looks up
Akuma: Itami
Right’s face turns to utter shock, his eyes bright and wide
Right: Itami!? Akuma, he cannot go from no master to Itami, it will destroy him!!
Akuma: We are a dying martial art. He will want to see a man of the West show their thuggish society that ours is the real way of
fighting. This boy is in the perfect situation to learn.
Right: The company he fights in is extremely well known and popular. They will watch him in awe and our art will be renowned…but Itami…
Akuma quietly laughs to himself
Akuma: If you want to teach a child to swim across the river, throw in the crocodile and he will swim
Right: Poor boy
Akuma: Tell me, does the boy still go by the name of Occulo?
Right: Yes. Professionally. Otherwise he goes by the name of John Mullins, same as his father.
Akuma: Cruel, to be named after a man he must hate. A burden we must see to. Enough. I will send Itami to America to meet Occulo. You have done well.
Right: Thank you master
Akuma: But I have no use for you now
In one lightning fast movement, he removes his sword and removes the man’s throat. The scene freezes as we see a jet of blood blast from his neck. We see the text “Name? Just call him DEAD” appear at the bottom of the screen for a couple of seconds, before we see the blood rise into the air and his corpse flop to the ground.
His issue with me sending Itami troubles me. He has underestimated our student before he has even begun. Occulo will become our shining example.
He looks up to the sky and smiles
It may take a year or perhaps ten, but he will become a master in the new world. Our ancient fathers, sun will kiss your scripture once again.
