The warm winter night in Los Angeles California was still clear. The full moon shined over the city. As the clock was almost striking midnight Harley Rhodes walked back into his hotel room. He walked through the lobby and waited for the elevator. A few seconds passed by the elevator doors opened and he reached down with his right hand and pushed the button for the 2nd floor. It took only a few more seconds before the elevator reached the 2nd floor and Harley got off.
He walked down to his room and reached in his front left jean pocket and took out his room key. He swiped it through the lock on the door and the door clicked and unlocked. He slowly pushed open the door and grabbed the do not disturbed sign from the back side of the wooden hotel room door. He placed it on the door handle and locked the door when it closed.
Harley reached down with his right hand in his front jean pocket and pulled out his smart phone. He decided to watch one of Raymond Hatchers promo’s from the past. As he watched it he quickly became bored and struggled to finish it. He then shut his phone off and placed it on the counter.
He didn’t change clothes but he climbed into his king sized bed. The pain from Vengeance cutting his forehead with a barbed wire bat was finally sinking in. But this didn’t stop Harley from quickly falling asleep for the night. He slept undisturbed for the next eight hours until he was awoken around 9 a.m. by pounding on his hotel room door.
Harley slowly sat up in bed and felt instant pain. The cut on his forehead was almost unbearable. He managed to get to his feet and slowly walked to the door. He opened it, Chris stood there dressed in a black polo shirt and black dress pants with sun glasses covering his eyes. He held two Styrofoam cups of coffee he picked up from the lobby of the hotel.
As the door was opened the first thing Chris saw was the 2 inch cut on Harley’s forehead and he was in complete shock. Chris had no clue what happened the night before or even knew where Harley was. Chris walked into the Harley’s hotel room set the cups of coffee on a table and took off his sun glasses. He glared at Harley’s forehead still shocked what he saw.
Chris: Ummmm do you mind telling what is going on here? You look like shit, you’re still in the same clothes as yesterday and you have a 2 inch cut on your forehead? What the fuck? Did you go out partying last night? We are on business not pleasure Harley!
Harley rolled his eyes as he was in no mood for a lecture.
Harley Rhodes: Save it, I don’t want to hear it.
Chris ignored what Harley said, he wanted answers.
Chris: No, tell me what the hell happened. Do you not realize fifteen is important? You don’t have to be fucking around like this. You want to cry and bitch about people taking spots they shouldn’t have and you go out and party all night? What kind of statement is that? Shouldn’t you be training or resting?
Do you not realize these actions will only provide fuel for the other people? Raymond Hatcher could claim you’re a drunk and partier then what? This whole getting noticed statement kick you seem to be on will be all for nothing. Can you not see that?
Harley stood there listening Chris lecture him about what he thought happened. The more Chris seemed to ramble on the angrier it made Harley before he finally interrupted.
Harley Rhodes: Stop just stop. I didn’t go out and party last night. I had some things I need to take care of and I also had to visit with some people. There is nothing to worry about, just drop it.
You can see the frustration building in Chris’s face, he wasn’t getting the answers he wanted and seemly was going to stop until he did.
Chris: No, I am you agent I need to know where my client is at all times. If you went off and did things and came back looking like that, I need answers. Can you imagine what the press would do if they saw you like this?
Harley Rhodes: What would they do? In case you didn’t realize not a lot of people pay attention to me. How many people in this world know who Harley Rhodes is? They have heard of Vengeance, but not Harley Rhodes. I had to go visit Vengeance last night. I had to make sure he was ready for fifteen this weekend. I needed to make sure he was ready to dismantle Raymond Hatcher.
Chris closed his eyes and shook his head. He still didn’t understand why Harley referred to Vengeance as a different person, because there not. He also couldn’t understand how a little face paint could change someone’s mind so much. Chris was determined to make an attempt to find out how and why this was.
Chris: I don’t understand this and I don’t get why you refer to yourself in third person for. How can you not realize you are the same person Harley? You and Vengeance are the same. The only thing that is different is that face paint. Why don’t you understand this?
Harley gave Chris an evil stare he knew Chris was about to push wrong buttons.
Harley Rhodes: Do we really need to do this right now? Some things are better left alone. The faster you realize this the better off we will be, do you understand me Chris? I will explain this to you one more time than we are done with this conversation. The Vengeance you are slowly seen each week is a result of backstage politics. There is no one else standing up to it is there?
Do you see someone like Raymond Hatcher standing up and making a statement? No, you would never see that happening. You ask why? Because he simply isn’t skilled enough to do something like that. He doesn’t have what it takes to be that dark person who isn’t afraid of pain. Raymond Hatcher simply couldn’t make the statement like Vengeance did last week.
He doesn’t have the right following Chris. The dark Vengeance is a result of Harley being screwed over. I have no doubt Raymond will talk shit about that happening. He will lay claim that all Vengeance does is bitch about being screwed over. You know what Raymond, You might be right, Vengeance does bitch a lot the only problem with that statement is that Vengeance actually doing something about it.
So while Chris does his job and never asked that stupid question again, I want you to ask yourself a question Raymond. You have been gone what a month? You and you’re partner Adam Young tried you hand at winning the tag team titles. But you failed didn’t you? You failed hard. Then you decided to walk away for about a month.
Harley was feeling amused at the fact Raymond Hatcher actually agreed to tag with Adam Young
Harley Rhodes: You took your ball and went home. Why did you leave Raymond? Did you feel angry? That’s ok Raymond, Vengeance has been there too, not as dumb as you but he has been down that road. But the problem is there is a huge difference. Vengeance went home and came back and got ignored. You come back and you get handed this match against Vengeance to become the number 1 contender for the United States title.
Just like that you leave for a month, come back, and they think you deserve a chance at a title match. Quite frankly Raymond Vengeance is getting sick of people like you. You don’t deserve shit. I don’t care what you think you can do, or what you think your owed, none of it matters. After Vengeance beats your ass at fifteen you should tell him what you had to do to wiggle yourself in this match.
I’m sure you sitting back in your mansion with your stacks of cash smiling. Is that how you did it Raymond? How much did you pay WCF? How much it cost you to get in this match? Money isn’t the answer to anything Raymond. It doesn’t matter how successful you think your business adventures are they won’t stop the extreme pain you are getting ready to feel.
I’m actually glad that you are a rich man Raymond. I am glad that you have all the money in the world. I am glad because you are going to need it. I hear hospital bills are expensive these days, let alone the amount you will have to fork over to pay for those much needed pain pills. That’s going to be you’re Real Deal.
I will keep warning you Raymond you don’t have to do this. I beg you don’t do this. Don’t do this for your family. You heard when Vengeance said last night; you need to believe every word that comes out of his mouth. Trust me on this, I know him, I know him very well, and the place he is in mentally, not good Raymond, not good for you, not good for WCF, not good for anyone. You can’t win Raymond.
You can’t win you aren’t even on the same level as Vengeance, why can’t you see that? This isn’t a desk job. This isn’t cushy business job. This isn’t a lazy trip around the country standing at a podium speaking for an hour. What this is going to be Raymond is twenty minutes of hell. Is that United States title worth it to you? Is it worth walking through hell just for a chance at a title?
These are the questions you need to ask yourself before Sunday. Is all of this worth the United States title? It may be a hard question for you to answer and I get that, I really do. Like I have said before I sure in the hell wouldn’t want to the one standing across the ring from Vengeance. Not now, it’s not the right time. That United States title means the world to Vengeance.
He needs it; he needs it more than anything in the world. He is preparing for war with you Raymond, Vengeance is all in, he cannot stop now, and you cannot stop him. Sooner or later that will sink in. That will sink in before Sunday everyone knows it. People are watching this match Raymond. There will be a lot of people watching. They aren’t watching for you Raymond, No, They will be watching Vengeance do exactly what he said he was going to do. He will get noticed and one by one everyone will soon become Vengeance fans. It’s going to happen if you like it or not Raymond.
Frustration once again was building inside Harley as Chris looked on not saying a word. Chris was interested in hearing what Harley had to say. The more frustrated Harley got the more his body temperature raised. As the temperature rose he began to sweat. It also didn’t help he hadn’t showered for the day either. Single beads of sweet started running down his face, and burning his forehead cut in the process.
Harley Rhodes: This promo of yours that I force myself watch was probably one of the worst things I have ever seen in my wrestling career. I think the only person worse then you are your tag partner. Do you honestly think people show up a WCF because you inspired them? That has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. The five or ten people who actually show to up your speaking events are only there for the free food and extra credit for their school project.
You think highly of yourself don’t you? Why is that Raymond? Is it because you over came all the odds and was handed a silver platter by a rich adoptive family? But you did say something that Vengeance would actually kind of agree on. You said having your same alongside someone on the card is a scary site. That’s interesting to me.
You see there is no doubt seeing Vengeances name next to you on a card is a scary thing, especially as of late. And you can pretend all you want Raymond, Your name isn’t scary trust me, When Vengeance saw your name next to his on the fifteen card he actually laughed. He laughed because you’re the final step. After all you are the “Real Deal” right? Am I right on that?
See you are a prime example of what is wrong with WCF today. You think you actually deserve the things that have been handed to you. Can we speak the truth, maybe just for a minute? What makes you think you deserve anything in this company? How long have you been here Raymond? You finally made it to the big leagues March of 2015?
What have you done since then? You have been here almost a year. What have you done? Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe you haven’t done shit. Have you been handed stuff on that silver platter, no doubt, but what did that get you? You’re just like everyone else Raymond you get handed title shot, after title shot, and you lose each and every one of them.
You see Raymond people like Vengeance don’t get handed stuff on a silver platter. They get forced to work for what they deserve. They get fucked by people like you. They get fucked by people like you who get handed chance after chance. Vengeance has actually done stuff here Raymond. He has a former Hardcore and Internet champion. Did you know that? Probably not because you’re too ignorant.
Now you will follow the same path as everyone else. Losing is something your accustom too isn’t Raymond? Losing to Vengeance shouldn’t cost you too much besides physical pay, after all I’m sure you will be handed another title shot sometime down the road which you will again lose. I want you to do me a favor Raymond. I want you to sit back in your fancy mansion and do me a favor.
I would love for you to write Vengeance a letter. Write him a letter on what’s like to sit back and watch him do what you can’t do and that’s win another title. I promise you after he destroys you he will win that United States title, and I’m more then sure he would love to hear your feelings on that. I’m sure you will cry hell maybe even you will leave the WCF again and finally realize you don’t belong here. I heard a rumor the Wednesday night show is returning maybe you can find someone to actually beat there.
Harley finally ends his rant. His frustration didn’t go way and decided he would go take a shower while Chris went back to his room to grab his suit cases and get them more coffee since the coffee Chris brought turned cold after Harley’s long rant. Chris stood up and left the room. Chris still felt like he wanted Harley to explain why the face paint made such a difference because it wasn’t clear to him. He decided maybe another day he would ask again but for now, he would leave it be as requested.
Harley turned on the shower and got undressed. As slowly stepped into the shower the warm water hit his cut and caused a burning sensation. He took a ten minute shower then got out and dried off with the white towel hanging from the chrome colored towel rack that was attached to the wall. Harley decided to dress comfortably in black gym shorts, and a plain red t-shirt as he and Chris would be leaving on the private jet today. He covered his cut with a band aid and packed his bags.
After packing his bags he left the hotel room and met Chris in the lobby. Chris had arranged for the Hotel shuttle van to give them a ride to the airport. As they walked outside a white ford van pulled up and they climbed in the back seat. They drove about 10 minutes and arrived at the airport. After getting out of the van they met the pilot and co-pilot at the private jet and they already had the door open and the motors running. They were ready for takeoff.
They decided they would fly back to Iowa for a few days and stay at Harley’s house. Once they told the pilot of the instructions he closed the door as Chris and Harley sat down in the front row of seats. After five minutes the plane was ready and cleared for take-off. They would be in the in the air for the next 6 hours so they both decided to watch more videos of Raymond Hatcher.
They watched videos from the times he wrestled in ECCWF and XWF. They watched a few matches from WCF and watched some more of his promos. They ended up forcing themselves to watching six hours of Raymond Hatcher’s wrestling past and they both agreed it was one of the most boring things ever to be played on a video player. They finally reached the Des Moines international airport and the pilot started his decent and finally landed the plane.
The landing was smooth. After the plane was on the ground the pilot slowly took to the plane to the private hanger area and pulled inside. Once inside he shut the plane off and the hanger doors closed. The pilot got opened the door and Harley and Chris got out of the plane. A cab was waiting for them when they left the hanger. After a twenty minute cab ride Harley and Chris finally made it to Harley’s house
The ground was snow packed but the tempters were in the lower 30’s almost above the freezing park. Clouds took of the moon and the night was darker than normal. Both were tired and decided to go bed early. Harley’s cut was still painful but it was slowly starting to feel better as scabbing started to take over. Chris stayed in the guest bedroom and Harley slept in in his bed. They both slept through the night and woke up the following day around 10 am.
After waking up they both showered and changed clothes. Chris decided to keep looking like his professional self and wore a blue polo with black dress pants. Harley decided once he would wear jeans and a plain black t-shirt. Harley decided he would cook breakfast for both of them so they could eat. He turned the stove on medium and cooked eggs and bacon. After about 20 minutes of cooking Harley and Chris sat down at a small wooden dinner table which had just enough room for two people.
Chris: So what’s the plan for today?
Harley shrugs his shoulders as he really didn’t have anything planned but a work out later on in the day.
Harley Rhodes: I really don’t have anything planned. I’ll probably put in a work out later on today; after all I haven’t used my own work out equipment for almost a year. When is the last time you hit the gym?
Chris smiled as he really couldn’t remember when the last time was.
Chris: You know that is a good question. I really have no clue when the last time was. It might be the last time I wrestled and that was what 2008? Remember 2008?
Harley shook his head in agreement.
Harley Rhodes: How could I not forget? That was the year I thought I would never wrestle again. It’s funny how things work out. Vengeance was forgotten in 2008. Then he was at the top of career the first part if 2013 and now once again he is forgotten. It’s come full circle.
Chris sighs as he completely disagrees.
Chris: I don’t think WCF giving Vengeance a contender’s match is ignoring Vengeance. They are providing an opportunity
Harley looks down to the floor and then shook his head in disagreement.
Harley Rhodes: You’re just like everyone else aren’t you? Vengeance already beat the United States champion. That should have given him a title shot at fifteen, fuck Bernard Core. What the fuck has he done? Not a damn thing, the only reason he is getting a shot is because of backstage politics. Vengeance beat the champion and he has to fight again to become number 1 contender? Explain to me how that is opportunity?
Chris: Because they are still giving Vengeance a chance, they don’t have to do that. I believe they are seeing a rising star just like 2013.
Harley again disagrees
Harley Rhodes: NO…NO….NO….NO, If they. Management wanted to give Vengeance a fair chance he would have been in an Untied States title match at fifteen not Bernard Core. It should have been Mikey Extreme vs Vengeance, but no backstage politics. It’s the exact same thing that’s happened with everyone else. Everyone gets a title shots besides Vengeance. Now they want to make another attempt to stop Vengeance with Raymond Hatcher because Dune couldn’t get the job done.
This is all happening because Vengeance walked out on this company in 2013. I’m not stupid Chris. This is their way to get back at Vengeance. They know how hell bent he is on wanting another title reign it’s been three fucking years. Desperation Chris, desperation makes one do crazy things. Vengeance is losing his mind Chris. Can’t you see that? It’s called desperation to prove he is relevant in 2016.
Chris rolled his eyes as he continues to disagree and argue
Chris: Obviously Vengeance is relevant in 2016 he gets a number 1 contenders match.
Frustration and anger finally built up to a boiling point he picked up his breakfast plate and threw it against the wall eggs and bacon scatter all over the floor. Harley bends over and gets in Chris’s face interrupting him in a loud voice.
Harley Rhodes: Are you fucking kidding me right now? Why do you need to keep arguing? That isn’t your job do you understand me Chris? Look at this cut on my forehead Chris. I said fucking look at it. Do you see it? Vengeance did that to me. Vengeance cut me with a barbed wire bat. He needs that United States title Chris. He is hell bent on it. They are doing everything in their power to drag it out. Why can’t you understand that Chris?
I have told you time and time again. You don’t need to understand Vengeance’s feelings that’s not your job. If he feels he needs a title reign to feel like he is still relevant so be it. Have you never been desperate to make yourself fit in? No you haven’t. That is the problem Chris, its fucking desperation. A title reign would give everything Vengeance is seeking including attention. He will no longer be ignored.
Harley walks out of the dining room and walked outside. He decided to get his workout in early so he could get the anger out of this system. He walked across the driveway to his pole building which held his personal gym and wrestling ring. He went inside and started working out. Chris decided to stay inside in the house.
Chris felt like he had a lot of things to think about. He thought he was trying to be a good friend s and how the positives of what is currently happening to Vengeance, but apparently that did nothing but cause complete anger. Then an idea struck Chris. What if he could find some wrestling fans and invite them over to meet Vengeance. Chris thought it would be a long shot but maybe that would help ease Vengeance’s mind.
Chris did some calling around the Des Moines are to find at least one wrestling fan. After about an hour of trying he finally got ahold of a guy named Tim who was apparently a wrestling super fan or so Chris was told. Chris gave Tim Vengeances address and invited him for a personal meet and great and didn’t tell him who he would be meeting. The problem was Tim was actually a Raymond Hatcher fan.
Like most of Raymond Hatcher’s fans Tim wasn’t exactly the smartest person in the world. He thought he knew everything about Raymond Hatcher but in fact he knew very little. Tim was born and raised in Florida and the only reason he moved in the Midwest was because of Raymond Hatcher. However Tim didn’t exactly know where Raymond Hatcher grew up after he was adopted.
Raymond Hatcher grew up after he was adopted in Warsow, Missouri not Des Moines. Iowa. But someone coming from Florida really had no clue. Tim felt excited that he was finally offered a chance to meet his favorite wrestler, He was excited to ask several questions and get all of his Raymond Hatcher gear signed. He even decided to bring a replica WCF United States title with him, as he believed Raymond Hatcher was soon to be the next United States champion.
Little did Tim know this was probably going to be one of the worst nights of his life. Not only was he going to be meeting the wrong wrestler, he was going to meeting someone who was mentally unstable. It was nothing against Tim but the way Vengeance’s mind was working as of late no one would be safe meeting him, especially someone who liked Raymond Hatcher and was carrying a replica WCF United States title.
As the hours went on throughout at the day Harley stayed inside his pole building and Chris stayed inside and worked on his laptop most of the day. As the hours went by Harley’s mind started wondering. The more his mind wondered the less he started working out until he finally stopped. Once he stopped he stood up and look around inside his building. The sun was starting to set and the room was growing darker by the minute.
Harley decided he was going to attempt do work out in the ring and see if that would clear his mind. He walked to the back of the pole building were a small changing room was. He changed into a black tank top and black pants with black wrestling boots. He walked out and towards a full body mirror he had hanging on the wall. He slowly starting painting once side of his face white with black stripes.
The more he stared in the mirror the less face painting happened and the more unfocused he grew It was almost as if he was stuck between two different worlds, almost as if he was stuck of being the normal Harley Rhodes and the dark side that Vengeance had seemed to be going down. This forced his mind to alter quickly, almost if he had two personalities.
He began shaking his head and stumbled backwards a couple steps before he sat down on a stool. He kept staring into the mirror. A warming sensation quickly overcame his body and sweat soon followed. He took his left arm and whipped the small beads of sweat from his forehead. Suddenly he hears a voice start talking.
Voice: Why do you let them do this to you? Why do you allow yourself to fall for their mind games? Look at you Harley, You finally have reached that crossing road haven’t you? Who is really to blame for this? Is it you? Is it Vengeance? Is it WCF management? Is it all the returning former stars? Is it Mikey Extreme? Is it Barnard Core? Is it Raymond Hatcher? Look at yourself sitting there.
You sit there on that stool, trying to figure out just who you want to be. You want to be like everyone else. You want to be like one of the guys don’t you Harley. It wasn’t long ago this face paint really didn’t mean anything. It was used for you to focus on wrestling, it was used for all the fans, and it was used for every little kid who inspired to be like their Vengeance.
What does it stand for now Harley? What does that face paint mean to you? What does Vengeance mean to you? Tell me Harley what does Vengeance mean to you? Can you accept me? Can you? It’s Harley. It’s me Vengeance I’m talking to you.
Harley and Vengeance shook their head as more confusion started setting in.
Harley Rhodes: What is happening? Why is this Happening?
Vengeance: This is happening because you let them push us around.
Harley Rhodes: I never did anything like that.
Vengeance: All of this is your fault. You let us down. You tried to fit in and what did it get us? It got us nothing. You force us to lose every single week when we came back until I started taking over. I am much more than face paint. I am the one to end this.
Harley disagreed
Harley Rhodes: No, No you’re not. There would be no Vengeance without Harley Rhodes. You cannot deny that. Vengeance dies without Harley Rhodes.
Vengeance also disagreed
Vengeance: Vengeance dies without you? Vengeance is the reason why anyone knew the name Harley Rhodes. Vengeance is the reason why people will notice. Vengeance is everything to you. Harley Rhodes would be nothing without Vengeance. The more you realize this the better off we will be. It’s all about Vengeance, Harley its time you embrace me!
Look at you Harley there you sit looking into that mirror. You’re nothing but a simple man from the farmland, the farmland called Iowa. Vengeance made you famous. Vengeance has won you titles. Vengeance has made you money. You must accept Vengeance as your way of life. They ignore Vengeance because of you Harley, it’s all your fault.
Harley sighs once again in disagreement.
Harley Rhodes: Do you really think I’m to blame for all of this? What the hell is wrong with you? You couldn’t go out in public if it wasn’t for me. Do you think you would be allowed anywhere with that face paint Vengeance? I am the one who made Vengeance, I am the one who allows Vengeance to live not you.
They wouldn’t even know who Vengeance was if it wasn’t for my vision. Do you even realize that? I am the one who made the fans love Vengeance. I am the one who give all those kids a hero. I am the one who put this body on the line each and every week. They chose to ignore me because of you. Because of the way you act.
Vengeance laughs as he found Harley’s comments funny.
Vengeance: Your vision? Is that what you really think? It wasn’t Harley Rhodes who started Rebellion. It wasn’t Harley Rhodes who started The Shadows of Darkness. It wasn’t Harley Rhodes who was a member of AoD. It wasn’t Harley Rhodes who found six men who would do anything on his command. It wasn’t Harley Rhodes who won the Hardcore and Internet title.
You can vision anything you want, but if you can live out that vision, your vision doesn’t mean anything. It doesn’t do anything for anyone. Your vision of Vengeance did nothing of us. Your vision of Vengeance failed to win a match when we returned last year. Your vision of Vengeance got us ignored.
You vision let everyone walk in front of us. That’s when I had to take over. You can’t deny that I have saved Vengeance from being left behind. I made Vengeance get noticed while you let him get ignored. I beat Mikey Extreme. I made Dune run. Now I will make an example out of Raymond Hatcher.
What would you have done with Raymond Hatcher Harley? Would you have let him spoil all the hard work I have done for us? Would you let Raymond Hatcher walk back in WCF after taking a leave and steal what is rightfully yours? Would you have let him take the United States title when it belongs around our waist?
Harley starts to panic as he interrupts.
Harley Rhodes: No…No…..No damn it No.
Vengeance knew he was starting to take over Harley’s mind.
Vengeance: You need to listen to me Harley. This isn’t about you anymore. This is about us. This about what we need to do to get where we really belong. I have the best interest, I have everything we need to succeed once again. No one can stop us Harley, accept what is happening. They will no longer ignore us. They will not win. Raymond Hatcher will not win. Raymond Hatcher is nobody.
Desperation Harley that is what you feel. You are desperate to make Vengeance a name once again. I get that, I understand you. No one else in this world understands you like I do. Not your parents, not Chris, not your friends, no one but me. Trust me all this will be short lived Harley. All these feelings will soon go away I promise you. You mind will soon be clear.
Soon the mind will clear when we get what we want. I will allow you to find a new vison for Vengeance as I will no longer be needed. I the dark side of Vengeance will always be there for you Harley, I will take over as I see fit as I will never leave your mind. Soon you’re desperation will turn into glory when Vengeance once again becomes champion. The time nears. But for now I will guide you to the promise land then I will let you fly free.
We will destroy Raymond Hatcher. We will make him another example of people who don’t belong. He will feel your pain. He will suffer at your hands. Raymond Hatcher the clock is ticking. You tried to make me look like a fool. You tried making me look like a fool because you continue to ignore my warning. This is a no win situation for you Raymond.
As Vengeance seemly took over Harley’s mind he stood up off the stool and finished painting the rest of his face to match the other side. As he slowly applied his face paint the sun finally set and the pole building was lit only by moon light. The moon easily provided dim light for the building through windows near the room and lack of trees on the property. Vengeance felt complete transformed as he slowly walked towards the ring. He slowly climbed onto the ring apron and sat down.
Once he was sitting he stared towards the roof line widows and looked at the moon. He felt a calming sensation despite what just happened. Little did he know this calming feeling would be short lived, Tim the Raymond Hatcher super fan was only minutes away. Vengeance continued to sit here looking at the moon. As the minutes ticked by a cars head lights could be seen pulling down the driveway which Vengeance ignored.
As Tim pulled down the driveway in his early 2000’s silver Dodge ram he parked between the House and the pole building. Tim was getting more excited by the minute. This was his moment this was his time to finally meet the man who was his idol. It seem liked Tim has waiting since September 2011 when Raymond Hatcher made his debut in ECCWF.
Tim brought everything he could find of Raymond Hatcher. He was wearing a t-shirt, a how to business success book, action figures, wrestling pictures, and his prized replica United States title belt. Tim bought the belt early in the week because of the upcoming match at fifteen. He knew in his mind that Vengeance stood no chance in beating Hatcher.
You could almost feel sorry for Tim, after all he came to meet his hero. You could almost feel sorry for a guy who poured most of his money into Raymond Hatcher memorabilia. There was a time when Vengeance would have been more than happy to meet fans and sign autographs. After all he wanted to give the fans what they wanted to see especially the hardcore wrestling style.
Unfortunately Tim was about to find out he had made the biggest mistake of his life. It wasn’t his fault by any means. He was simply going to be a man that was at the wrong place at the wrong time. He was quickly going to learn why Raymond Hatcher actually stood no chance at beating Vengeance. He was going to learn why Raymond Hatcher would not become United States champion.
Tim reached up with his right hand and turned the key to shut his truck off. Chris head the noise outside and turned on the outside light above the front door to the house which lit up half the driveway. Chris walked outside to meet Tim. Once Tim climbed out of the Chris noticed that he was wearing a white Raymond Hatcher he was quickly overcome by complete shock.
Before Chris could say anything a million thoughts ran through his mind. He was never told by Tim he was Raymond Hatcher fan. He never told Tim who he would be meeting. Chris also knew he had made a big mistake. But maybe Tim would be willing to meet another wrestler. Chris always tried to find the positive in every outcome. He knew how unstable Harley Rhodes and Vengeance combination had been recently but what if Tim could maybe help change that.
Chris knew Harley never turned away fans as himself or Vengeance. However in this state of mind that he had been in Chris was going to make a big mistake and Tim would be the one who was going to pay for it. Chris decided to let it play out and see what would happen. Maybe the shock that a fan showed up would be enough to help inspire change. Chris wanted change to happen as he was growing concerned more and more of the spilt personality that was being shown.
Chris: Hey Tim welcome thanks for coming out.
Tim: Oh man thank you for letting me do this. I have waited for the past 5 years for this to happen. Raymond Hatcher is my idol, I hope he doesn’t mind I brought things for him to autograph.
Chris struggled to not tell Tim the truth about who he was about to meet. But he held firm and didn’t say anything.
Chris: Hey no problem, ummm I hope you enjoy your time and all. If you would like you can go right into that building over there.
Chris pointed his right hand towards the pole building which was dark. The dark building force Tim to as a question as a little confusion he felt why the building was dark.
Tim: Why is the building dark? Are you sure it’s ok to go in there?
Chris: Sure he was just working out he, ummmm was waiting for you. I guess he just hasn’t turn on the lights yet. That shouldn’t be a big deal. He will probably turn on the lights when you walk in. I don’t see any problems with that. Why don’t you go ahead, I’ll be out here if you need anything.
Tim was reluctant to agree but did, he knew this might be his only choice to meet The Real Deal.
Tim: Alright I guess I could do that.
Tim grabbed his replica WCF United States title and put it over his right shoulder. He then grabbed the Raymond Hatcher pictures and carried them in his left hand. He slowly made his way towards the pole building. As he reached the pole building he peaked through the small window on the door and he could see a figure of a man sitting on the wrestling ring apron
Tim grew even more excited as he thought he saw a shadowy figure of Raymond Hatcher. This was it he was 10 feet away from finally meeting the man he idolized. He was no longer reluctant about walking inside the dark pole building as excited over took him. He slowly reached down for the door handle with his right hand almost dropped the replica belt, but didn’t
As he slowly opened the door it quickly gained the attention of Vengeance. Vengeance didn’t say a word as Tim walked through the door and shut it behind him. Vengeance’s eyes focused on Tim but not a single word came out of his mouth. Tim slowly walked half way to the ring as the moon light seemly lit more of the pole building up.
Tim quickly realized that the man sitting on the apron appeared to be much bigger then Raymond Hatcher but refused to believe it could be anyone else. Maybe the camera’s made someone look smaller. He stopped walking as nervous started in set it. He managed to speak a few words.
Tim: Hello, Mr. Hatcher, my time is Tim I’m your biggest fan. It’s a pleasure to meet you.
Vengeance quickly became angry. He was not aware Chris invited anyone over. In his mind he knew someone just walked inside a building he owned. Not only building he owned but he was a Raymond Hatcher fan. Vengeance hoped off the ring and walked over to Tim and got in his face.
Tim quickly realized the man inside the building was not Raymond Hatcher and it was actually Vengeance. Tim became scared and tried to turn around run out of the building but Vengeance reached down and grabbed the back of his white shirt stopping him from moving. After gabbing and stopping Tim, Vengeance pulled him towards the ring. Once they reached the ring, Vengeance picked up Tim and put him on his left shoulder and carried him inside the ring.
Once inside the ring Vengeance dropped time near the center of the ring. Tim laid there looking up at Vengeance too scared to say anything. He wanted to scream for help as Chris told him he would be right outside if he needed anything but he could manage to get one word out. Vengeance reached down and grabbed the Raymond Hatcher pictures.
He brought the pictures closer to his face and slowly look at each of them. After look at the 10 pictures Tim had brought he slowly ripped each and every one of them letting the pieces fall all over Tim who was laying in the center of the ring below Vengeance. By doing this Tim became even scared of what was going too happened next.
Vengeance then noticed the replica WCF United States title had brought with him. This brought small joy to Vengeance as he reached down and took the title away from Tim. He slowly looked the title over. After looking the title over he reached around with his left and placed it on the top turnbuckle. Vengeance once again looked down at Tim. Tim was visibly shaking by this point.
Vengeance: Who are you? Who do you think you are walking inside this building?
Tim stutters as he speaks out of fear
Tim: My name is Ti Ti TI Tim
Vengeance glares
Vengeance: What are you doing here Tim?
Tim: I was
Vengeance interrupts
Vengeance: How dare you walk in here. How dare you walk inside this building wearing Raymond Hatcher attire. Who in the hell do you think you are Tim? Who in the hell do you think you are? Answer me Tim. Answer me!
Tim: I was invited, I thought this was Raymond Hatcher’s house he is my favorite wrestler.
Vengeance: He is what?
Tim: He is my favorite, Please don’t hurt me.
Vengeance smiles which gave false hope to Tim
Vengeance: Raymond Hatcher is you favorite wrestler? That belt you brought looks pretty knew Tim, I assume you just bought it? You think Raymond Hatcher is going to beat me at fifteen don’t you? Do you think that is how it’s supposed to work? Do you think Raymond Hatcher should be champion over me?
Tim: Yes I do, I mean No
Vengeance’s eyes light up as Tim was giving him answers he didn’t want to hear.
Vengeance: You think Raymond Hatcher deserves this? Is that how you think it works Tim? Do you want to know what I am going to do to you hero this Sunday at fifteen? Do you want me to tell you Tim? Raymond Hatcher doesn’t deserve anything. You don’t deserve anything. The fact you call yourself a Raymond Hatcher is simply pathetic. Your hero walks away from WCF for a few weeks then he gets handed a Contenders match.
That’s not how this is going to work Tim. I will not allow people like that take thing away from me. You see Tim I am what you call a desperate man. A desperate man who needs to feel something special. Its 2016 Tim everyone has thrown Vengeance out the window. He hasn’t been good since 2013 isn’t that right Tim. You a wrestling fan, do you agree with that statement? Is Vengeance a thing of the past?
I disagree with people like you Tim. The people like you who support people like Raymond Hatcher who tries to take things away from people like me. People like him who get handed every chance in the world while people like me get ignored, get unnoticed. Do you know how all this is going to end for people like Raymond Hatcher? This is going to end by example Tim. Everyone has to learn the hard way and the hard way is called Vengeance.
How excited are people like you when there hero’s return? One of the most exciting nights of your life isn’t? There has been a lot of returns lately Tim, have you seen them? Have you seen everyone jump for joy? How many people jumped for joy for me Tim? Do you know the answer to that question? How many fucking people cared when Vengeance returned?
No one cared. Why is that Tim? Why did no one care when Vengeance returned? People forgot about Vengeance, people forgot who I was once was as if it didn’t happen. Three long years, three long years no one give a shit about me. Now, Now it’s 2016, now it’s time for Vengeance to show the world why I cannot be ignored any longer. Raymond Hatcher is the final step until I get what I want. You can’t stop me Tim, Raymond can’t stop me, hell not even management can stop me.
Vengeance reaches back and grabs Tim’s replica WCF United States title and runs his fingers over it.
Vengeance: This is the very thing I seek. This is the answer to all my desperation. This simple belt is the key to fix everything that is wrong. This very belt will calm my mind. I deserve this, I will take this, and I will be remembered. Do you know what it is like Tim? Do you know what it is like to feel the way I do? Do you know what it’s like to be desperate? Do you know what it’s like to need to feel relevant?
No, you have no clue. People like you sit on your couch and idolize the world of wrestling. No one knows what I feel, no one knows what’s like to be Vengeance. I used to be just like you Tim. I used to be normal, I used to love people like you. People like you used to support me. They were thankful for what I used to do. They were thankful for everything I did.
Then what happened. I walked away from the wrestling business for several reasons and people like you forgot about me. You acted like I never existed. You acted like I have never done anything. Soon Tim everything will return to normal but for now, I will make an example out of everyone who doubts me.
Vengeance felt the need to make an example out of Tim and drops the replica United States title onto the ring next to Tim who was still laying there in complete fear wondering what was going to happen next.
Vengeance: Now I will make an example out of you. We will see how much Raymond Hatcher cares about his fans. I promise you Tim, he will not save you and there is nothing you can do. No one will save you. You will be shown why people like Raymond Hatcher don’t deserve matches like this. Why he doesn’t deserve to face people like me. This will be a one sided affair.
I will not apologize for what I am about to do to you Tim. This is not your fault. This is not my fault. You can blame people like Raymond Hatcher for what is about to happen. Maybe one day we will be meet again, maybe one day Vengeance will be normal again, maybe one day I will no longer be desperate. You, Tim, will now suffer for your hero. You time has come to an end. Don’t blame me.
I tried to warn everyone. I tried to show everyone Vengeance was still somebody. I tried everything in my power to be accepted. No one listened. One by one they all will fall. Mikey Extreme fell, Raymond Hatcher will fall. I will become United States champion. Raymond Hatcher can sit back and mourn the loss of his so called fan. Tim your time is over. You are the next example.
Vengeance reaches down with both hands and grabs Tim by the shirt. Vengeance knew exactly what he wanted to do. Tim began to sweat, as he became even more scared. As Vengeance picked Tim up he placed him on his feet but didn’t let go of his shirt. He pulled him closer to his face so they could lock eyes. Vengeance stared into Tim’s eyes and Tim did the same to Vengeance.
It was no doubt Vengeance was trying even harder to intimidate and it was working to perfection. It almost worked like a charm the door the pole building opened and the Sixx demons of hell came walking in dressed in their red robes. Tim heard the door open and he figured it was Chris coming to help but it obviously wasn’t. The Sixx Demons of hell walked past the ring and walked to the back of the pole building.
A minute later they returned. They returned with a six by six foot wooden V, a small torch, and some rope. Vengeance quickly turned Tim around so he could watch what was happening. The Sixx Demons of hell tied rope around the V so it would hold a person and one threw rope around a steel beam that held the roof together. Tim still didn’t understand what was happening.
Vengeance picked up Tim and placed him over his left should and climbed out of the ring. He walked over the Sixx demons of hell and held him against the V while the Sixx Demons of tell slowly tied Tim to the V. Tim began to scream for help, but his screams where not loud enough for Chris to hear them outside. Tim was soon tied tightly to the wooden V and there was nothing he could do to escape. The Sixx Demons of hell slowly raise the V with Tim tied it.
Vengeance: I told you Tim, No one could help you. Where is your hero? Why hasn’t he come to save the day? He doesn’t care about people like you. Now, you will pay for his mistakes. You will pay for me. You will pay for this desperate mind. You, Tim, your life is over. Don’t blame me. Don’t blame me for anything. This is not my fault. Vengeance once was a good man. Now he is desperate for attention. You will bring attention to me. Everyone will witness what is about to happen. The whole world will see you burn alive.
Vengeance starts shaking his head as if he suddenly has second thoughts. It almost seemed like Harley was trying to come out, but couldn’t.
Vengeance; No, You can’t control me, They need to pay attention, good bye Tim, Say hello to Raymond Hatcher he will be joining you soon I promise you that. You will both feel the wrath of Vengeance. Welcome to my world. This is your last rites. Are you paying attention to me now Raymond? I didn’t think so, Tim will suffer because of you, and you will suffer at fifteen. This Sunday at fifteen will be your last rites.
Vengeance lights the torch and slowly raises it towards Tim. Tim had never been more scared in his life while Vengeance although struggling with his mind was enjoying what was about to happen. Tim was again screamed as loud as he could in hopes Chris would hear him outside but he didn’t. Vengeance turned the nob on the torch as the fire grew bigger.
As the torch fire grew bigger so did the reflections off the wall and windows. This seemly gained the attention of Chris who immediately thought the building was on fire. He felt a shot of adrenaline He started to run towards the building as Vengeance was getting closer to the wooden V. He quickly opened the door and witnessed what was going on and was completely shocked.
Chris: No, Don’t do it, please don’t do it.
Vengeance: You can’t stop me Chris, no one cares.
Vengeance places the torch fire onto the wooden V but it didn’t light.
Chris: No, they do care, I was just online and people are noticing you again. They are paying attention again. Please don’t do this. Nobody wants this to happen it’s not worth it. The people of this country need someone like you, they are starting to realize it. People on social media Vengeance, they like what you’re doing. They want to see you grow, they don’t want to see you burn someone.
They need you as their champion. They need you as the United States champion. This country wants someone who is willing to stand up for what they believe in, they get behind people like you. Stop this crazy stuff. You can beat Raymond Hatcher with no problems, everyone knows that. He is the last stepping stone for you. Make his fans suffer that way not like this. Please think about, they really care, I have read it, I just read it minutes ago before I saw the fire, trust me, please.
What Chris said seemed to work. It actually got through Vengeance’s head and he started to believe what Chris said. He felt a sense of relief and turned off the torch and dropped it to the ground. He turned and looked at Chris but didn’t say a word, and walked out of the pole building and out of sight. The Sixx demons of hell lowered Tim and followed Vengeance like they always did. Chris untied Tim and let him go.
