Harlan County, KY
Crank’s Trailer Park
3:31 P.M.
A cadillac escalade pulls up in front of Chance Von Crank’s mothers vacant trailer. Three trailers down from the WCF Superstar himself. The dark window tint hides the occupants inside well. The engine shuts off and the driver door opens slightly. Snow is still heavy in certain spots from the big blizzard. A foot appears with a Tom Ford shoe that dangles behind the door. Both feet hit the ground suddenly and Chance Von Crank emerges from behind the huge SUV door. He slams the it shut then attempts in vain to hide behind a pair of aviator shades.
“Fuck.” Crank exclaims.
One of his expensive Tom Ford shoes is now covered in mud. He curses Harlan County as he walks towards his mother's trailer. cVc walks up on the porch then begins to search his pockets for the key. The door squeaks a bit as he slowly eases it open. Chance’s mother overdosed in 2007 while he was in Japan wrestling. She left him the entire trailer park she bought through lotterry winnings. She left Charlene with nothing. Chance’s mother also claimed Charlene didn’t belong to Hank, Chance’s father.
The Shock N’ Rolla looks around the house after entering. Nostalgic memories flood his mind. He heads for the bedrooms looking for something particular. “Charlene” is written across one of the small trailer bedroom doors. The cobwebs dangle throughout the house. Dust has also overtaken the small single wide trailer. Chance pushes the door open and walks in. The N’SYNC poster droops over the small pile of blankets Chance’s sister once used for a mattress.
“Where are you?” Chance mutters in the darkness.
Chance rips the curtain down and the evening sunshine illuminates the entire room. He then searches the room for any evidence of his sister's whereabouts. Charlene lived here until about five years ago when she suddenly disappeared. Chance opens her jewelry box and discovers a letter. It was mailed from a school system in Philadelphia. The letter is made out to a “Charlene Bailey”. This discovery completely confuses Chance. He tucks the letter in his shirt pocket then heads out of the room. Crank can hear the front door open then shut suddenly. He rushes down the small hallway to investigate and runs right into Hank Von Crank! “What are you doing here?” Crank screams.
“I was wondering the same thing about you. A big wig from the Coal Company is outside on the porch. He says he has to talk to Chance Von Crank. So I came to find you.” Hank explains.
Chance pushes past Hank and heads for his mother’s bedroom. cVc pushes the door open slowly. This is the only bedroom in the entire trailer that's close to the living room. The curtains are open leaving the entire room lit. He walks in and Hank follows close behind clicking his heels on the cheap linoleum floor. Chance slumps to both knees at a chest just in front of his mother's bed. He opens it with a key she left him. cVc opens it up and Hank gasps.
“Ha. The entire Harlan Championship Wrestling catalog. You are going to love this dad!” Chance laughs.
He lifts the chest up in the air while all Hank can do is cry about the discovery. “This means the world can remember HCW and all of us wrestlers now. What a great treasure, Chance!” Hank gushes.
The Coal Company head boss, Clark Simpson, is now standing in the living room. Chance sits down the chest and rushes to shake his hand. Hank begins looking through the VHS tapes of HCW. “We have a deal, Chance!” Clark squeals. Clark then hands Chance a briefcase that he in turn sits down on a small coffee table. He flips the tabs and swings the case open. Stacks of hundred dollar bills fill the case which shocks Hank at first glance.
“What is all that for?” Hank asks. Chance shakes his head before he answers his father. He grins slightly before turning to Hank. “This is my money that I got from selling this trailer park. This guy is going to put a huge coal processing plant here now that he owns it.” Chance replies.
“Does that mean all the people in this trailer park will now be homeless?” Hank asks nervously.
The Coal Company boss man has Chance sign a few more papers and he does so. He continues to ignore his fathers question for as long as he can. Crank looks up at his father then laughs in his face. “These people will all be homeless now. I have done more with the Von Crank stagename granddaddy created than anyone in this family since has. No one will remember him or you. There will be no other Von Crank’s to ever oppose my legacy or to share in all my glory. There’s only me, cVc.” Crank replies.
Clark Simpson takes the papers then shakes hands with Crank, sealing the deal. Hank is in complete shock as Chance walks Clark towards the front door. “The news will be here soon and these people will turn red after they realize what’s happened.” Clark insists.
“How did the news find out about this?” Chance asks.
Clark hesitates at first. “Someone at my bank lives here. She called the news and it will start a huge mess. I am out of here before shit gets sideways. Thank you, Chance. Enjoy your new start at the top of the hill.” Clark answers.
The two men shake hands. Hank nabs up the chest full of VHS tapes to run. Chance stops his trans-gendered father with an extended arm. “Where do you think you are going with those?” Crank asks.
“These are mine and you know it. This is all that remains of mine and your granddaddy's legacy. I’m going to put this on the Me-Tube.” Hank barks.
Chance takes the chest from Hank then pushes him down on the floor. He twists his ankle and snaps one of his heels off after the spill. Chance laughs at Hank as he begins to weep on the floor. cVc looks down on his father as he nabs up the suitcase full of cash.
“You will be forgotten. He will be forgotten. There is only one Von Crank that will ever matter in any capacity after Sunday. Me, cVc. I know Charlene is not your daughter and she is now teaching in a school system where I am headed. What a coincidence that I will find her where I will reemerge as a huge wrestling star. I am going to make sure she is not a Von Crank to ensure I will be the only one left after AIDs finishes you off.” Chance exclaims.
Chance puts the suitcase in the chest then heads for the front door. Hank sits up and wipes both eyes. He then screams at Chance. “What about Pixie’s baby?”
Chance drops the chest and rushes back over to Hank. cVc squats down in front of him slowly. Chance’s warm breath washes over Hank’s face. “That baby will be sold for parts by this time next week. That dyke doesn’t realize I have a Private Eye looking for Pixie as we speak. He is hot on her trail and once I beat that bitch... She will agree that baby needs to be sucked out of her immediately. I will be the only Von Crank with any kind of a legacy. Dyke Bitch be damned.” Chance continues.
“I am going back to the top. I have a real hold on that proverbial ladder in WCF. I can feel it weaving back and forth.. That’s caused from the shaky nerves of the guys at the top of it. They see me coming and know they can’t do anything with cVc. They are right. This sunday I will prove just that. I will leave that whore in a puddle of hot skank in the middle of that ring. Then i’ll molest what’s left.” Chance exclaims at Hank.
Chance spits in Hank’s face then rises back to his feet. He turns around and picks up the chest. cVc then heads for the door. The channel five local news team van pulls into the drive alongside the escalade. Jennifer Fig jumps out of the passenger side door while the driver scrambles to grab a camera. Jennifer is the most famous newscaster in all of Harlan County. Crank kicks the trailer door open suddenly. He grins slightly after noticing Jennifer. She follows behind him after he completely by passes her.
“Chance! Can I have a word?!?” Jennifer screams. Chance continues to pack the chest towards the escalade. The cameraman scans the scene around the trailer park. He notices signs of unrest all around. Chance drops the chest next to his suv. He then opens the lid and takes off his flannel shirt. He exposes his new t-shirt that is selling out on the WCF website.
Available exclusively on the WCF website!
Crank reaches in the chest after he removes the shirt. He begins pulling out the only tapes that remain of Harlan Championship Wrestling. The channel 5 cameraman begins to film Chance as the trailer park around them comes to life.
“Chance? Chance” Fig asks. cVc continues to ignore her. He stacks all the tapes up in a neat little row behind the escalade. He continues until they all are stacked into one long row. Chance jumps in his suv and rev’s up the engine. Hank is now in the front yard begging Chance to stop. Crank pulls the cadillac into reverse and floors it. He backs over the tapes destroying most of them. cVc pulls forward then slams it in reverse again. He continues until each and every tape is completely destroyed. Chance parks the escalade then leaps back out.
“Chance what was that all about? These people are furious that you have left them with nowhere to go now. We all want answers!” Jennifer screams at cVc.
Hank is now sitting in the flower bed coughing up blood. The AIDs virus continues to ravage his body. Hank goes completely unnoticed due to all the angry people now in the yard. The reporter holds a mic up in Chance’s face awaiting an answer to her question. Crank looks directly into the camera and snatches the mic up.
“I just destroyed the entire catalog of Harlan Championship Wrestling. There will be only one Von Crank written about in history. Me… c-V-c! Harlan is dieing. I sold this entire trailer park to make you all homeless. I enjoy you all being left with dick. The state takes care of you only to pay me the bare minimum to keep this trailer park open for single moms with three different kids by three different men. It’s a trend and you are all trashy whores. Stop being pussies and earn a little something. I made a small fortune though so thank you and I do hope the food is warm at the soup kitchen.” Chance replies. Jennifer is completely shocked by what Chance said. The cameraman looks at Jennifer about the language. She indicates the broadcast will bleep it live. cVc then takes a step back to get his nice suv in the shot. He continues.
“Tiffany… I’m gonna cut one on ya using the local evening news… I’m way too good at what we do. The people here are all homeless and it’s your fault. I had to sell this entire property to pay a private investigator that is currently on Pixie’s trail. The Coal Company will come in now and clear this all out. All that will be left is my summer double wide.” Chance continues. He points up the hill at a brand new double wide surrounded by a fence. The sun behind him begins to fade as Chance looks back at the camera.
“I hope you remember that you have never pinned The Shock N’ Rolla. You took my Pixie and brainwashed her with big girl dreams in a man’s world. We live in the real world where I make more money than you because ass and tits can only take you so far. It’s a fact. I’m worth more money than some random bitch. Being a poker dyke made you interesting but cVc made you relevant.” Chance spews.
Jennifer’s phone rings off the hook after Chance finishes. The cameraman also begins getting calls about the language that just went out live to the entire tri-cities.
Chance reaches down in the chest after he finishes his live shoot. He pulls out his first action figure that is still pristine in the box.

He looks at the action figure and recalls all the money he got from it. cVc tosses the action figure in the passenger seat of his SUV. The news crew bail as the crowd begins to riot around the trailer park. Chance jumps in the front seat then shuts the door. He takes off away from the park and towards Philly to find his long lost sister. A mean woman on a rascal scooter stands up to break his back window out with a soft ball bat before he can escape. Chance floors it. Hank has been trampled by the crowd in the yard after falling from the flower bed. The AIDs virus accompanied by being trampled has left him dead, unknown to the crowd or Chance Von Crank.
Chance drives down the road for a bit then pulls over. He climbs out of the suv to look back towards the trailer park. Chance’s double wide on the hill is now on fire. The crowd of angry residents set it ablaze. The Coal Company built it for cVc with a plot of land around it. He watches on as his future fire burns bright. The only remaining bond he has with Harlan County goes up in smoke as emergency services arrive on the scene. Chance jumps back in the SUV to head towards Philly.
