The scene opens with Danny and Janie riding in Jimmy's Escalade on the 5 freeway. Janie's eyes are still puffy from all the tears she has shed today. Between Jimmy's beating and Danny's current losing streak, there isn't much she can do but cry. Danny is in the driver's seat, a rather unusual position for him. Danny was always the star, Jimmy his right hand man. Jimmy was Turtle to Danny's Vinny Chase, but now he was more of a soup than an active turtle.
Danny: Janie, why would you keep falling behind on the mortgage a secret? This family could have easily worked together to pick up extra money. Now with Jimmy's hospital bills rising, the Vagrant lost the house he's worked so hard for. And now Jimmy is going to have to lose the Escalade he always wanted.
Janie begins to tear up again.
Janie: Danny, I know I should have told you. I just didn't know how to say it. I never knew that Skyler Striker would attack Jimmy like that and put him in the hospital. There was no way either of us could have seen that. But don't you see Danny...don't you see what Skyler Striker is doing? He's ruining this family. Danny, the one thing you have always had was this family. When mom died and dad would come home drunk and beat Jimmy and I, you were the one who protected us. When no one believed in you and your dreams of becoming a wrestler, it was Jimmy and I int he front row of your very first match. It was Jimmy and I who came down to help you with Skyler Striker. Skyler Striker is trying to take away the one thing that has always meant something to you, the one thing that protected you from the cold, dark world. When you first came to the WCF, you would have never let this happen to us Danny. You've forgotten who you truly are. You've let go of that past. You've stopped using your past, all the hate, all the pain, all the suffering, as your motivation to thrive, to succeed, to destroy. I need to know now Danny, tell me now, where is that passion? Where is that motivation? Where is that anger? Where is what made you....what molded you....into the Vagrant?
Danny's face turns red. His eyes get dark. He grips the steering wheel tighter and tighter. He cuts off several cars to exit near the hospital to pick up his brother.
The Vagrant is downtown.
Let's get Jimmy and then get to work. I know just the place for you to find him.
