John Mullins lay on the solid white floor, his eyes closed, his body motionless. We hear lizard like footsteps approach him. The bullet sized hole in his chest oozes blood on the canvas like floor.
Morte: What a remarkable stroke of luck Blake my boy. You couldn’t have hit the target any sweeter.
The Cold appears next to him, alongside Frigus
Looks like Occulo had a bit of bite to go with his bark after all
The Cold: Indeed. The boy survived against overwhelming odds.
Morte: So, it is time for me to claim the soul of John Mullins. Oh, we are going to have such a wonderful eternity together.
He holds his hand above Mullins and a warm glow envelopes him for a few seconds. It fades away and Mullins slowly opens his eyes.
Yes…
He sits up and frantically looks around
Mullins: Where…where the fuck…that…that bastard…where is he?
Morte: He is walking the Earth alive and well. He was good to his word. I urge you both to leave him in peace now.
Mullins gets to his feet and looks across the three men
Mullins: Fuck that. I don’t know who the fuck you are, but I demand you send me back immediately. I’m going to fucking murder that
little prick
Frigus: Simply impossible. If you die in this world, that is it. No way back.
Mullins: What? I died?!
The Cold: Yes. A single bullet through the heart.
Mullins: So…so that means…oh my God…
He snaps and tries to punch The Cold in the face, but his fist simply goes straight through him as if he were a hologram.
Morte: Welcome to Hell. Though I imagine in your culture this is far from the popular depiction.
Mullins: I hate you…I HATE YOU
Morte raises his arms and the area transforms in to a fiery, rocky canyon. Mullins looks around and then sinks to his knees. He screams into oblivion and punches the ground. The scene then transitions as if seen through a monitor. We see only the reflections of two men in suits on the glass. On the monitor we see The Cold, Frigus and Morte, but Mullins nowhere to be seen.
Suit 1: Any sign of Mullins?
Suit 2: His vitals indicate that he did not survive the transition.
Suit 1: Damn it. The Winter has officially been classified as a failure.
Suit 2: What is protocol?
Suit 1: Protocol is for a complete and permanent shut down of The Winter.
Suit 2: Affirmative
He searches around in his blazer chest pocket and takes out a small red cigarette lighter. He ignites it and a small flame appears, but at the same time a small key falls out of the base. He lifts a small plastic flap and enters a four digit code on a keypad, which then flips up to reveal a key hole, into which he inserts the key.
Suit 1: Protocol also initiates a self-destruct sequence for this facility.
Suit 2: What?!
Suit 1: There can be no evidence of this. All information, including that in our minds, must be completely destroyed.
Suit 2: Shit…
He turns the key and a siren sounds with an automated voice. Meanwhile, the world around Mullins et al starts to crumble and dissipate.
The Cold: What…what’s happening?
Frigus: The End
Morte: What do you mean the end?
Frigus: The annihilation of our world.
Mullins gets to his feet and looks on, tears streaming down his face. We see the several worlds Occulo has visited suffering a similar fate. The medieval village, the shipyard, the photography studio and finally The Lighthouse, which dramatically crumbles into the
ever stormy sea.
Mullins: What…what will happen to me? Will I return back to Earth?
Frigus looks at him and simply laughs
Frigus: Oh no, you’ll simply…disappear like the rest of us. Looks like Occulo has won the war John.
The area starts to disappear as if being deleted from a computer system.
The Cold: John, you fai-
The sound of The Cold, and all sound around them for that matter, disappears. There is a horrifying silence. The Cold himself simply vanishes, followed by Frigus, followed by Morte, who is smiling with great menace at Mullins, simply delighted at his utter terror.
Mullins floats alone in a black void of darkness. We see him mouth something but we cannot discern what it is.
He then disappears forever as the monitor simply shuts off as it loses power. We then hear the start of a massive explosion as we

OOC NOTE:
I've massively enjoyed this story and the creativity that the WCF has allowed me. I felt that One was a nice place to bring this chapter of Occulo's life to an end, and now focus on the future. It was a difficut decision to kill off Mullins (and that bastard soul of his) as he was a fun heel character to write. But as I said, it's time for Occulo to look to the future. Here's to 2016!!
