Act 1
(Our scene begins in a dimly lit living room of a Memphis High Rise apartment. The surroundings give a feeling of a well to do life style but certainly not the scene of luxury. As the camera begins to pan around we see Rage Maxx sitting in a recliner. He is scrolling on an iPhone and seems to be relaxed. His face no longer a mask of determination as we last saw. The phone rings.)Hello......Hey man. Oh thank you. I gotta tell ya, I underestimated Holmes. He is a tough s.o.b. What's that? Oh, no. Not yet....I've got big match coming up at one though. I'm focusing on that for the time being. Well thanks. That means the world to me, Jerry.......Merry Christmas to you and your's as well. Yup, will do. Good night.
(Rage Maxx ends the call. He lays the phone down on the arm of the chair and looks up in contemplation. Shortly afterwards a door opens and Allena walks out. She is wrapped in a towel with her hair freshly blow dried. She begins to walk to another room but notices Rage's silence and contemplation. She walks over and leans over the back of the arm chair and puts her arms around Rage Maxx.)
Maxx: Oh, hey babe.
Allena: Who was that?
Maxx: Oh just an old friend calling to check up on me. What's up?
Allena: Just getting ready for bed. You seem tense hon, whats going on?
Maxx: Just thinking about One. It's almost here. I still can't believe I am going to be competeing on a Pay Per View that I grew up watching. It's sort of surreal.
Allena: I know babe, I know but I'm sure your going to be great!
Maxx: Have you thought about what we discussed at all?
Allena: Yes but I don't know, I really just don't think I'm that person anymore. I am going to school now and I have my job. What about having kids? You've said you wanted to have kids your self but now your asking me to go on the road with you. I just don't think the time is right.
Maxx: Right now is the time more than it has ever been. I'm sure of that and I think this will be good for both of us. I am already up a win and I'm on my game now more than ever. The only thing that could add to that babe is having you there in my corner with me.
Allena: You don't even know if the WCF would want me. That's an extra pay check they have to cut each week.
Maxx: Hold that thought.
(Rage gets up and walks to another room. Allena's face become a very still. She already knows what Rage has been up to just judging from that reaction. He returns to the room and he is holding an evelope in his hand.)
Maxx: Sit down and read this.
(Allena sits down in the recliner that Maxx was sitting in. She opens it slowly and begins reading out loud.)
Allena: The talent relations office at the Wrestling Championship Federation have reviewed the submitted material in relation to the aforementioned. It is with great honor that we accept the submissions as a valid and suitable valet for Rage Maxx on WCF programming.
(Allena looks up at Rage Maxx and her facial expression changes in that of solemn irritation.)
Allena: You did this without even asking me? What were you thinking?
Maxx: I was thinking that you would keep putting it off so I took the initiative. Come on, we used to dream about this day and now it's here. I could have any valet I want and the only one I want is the one sitting here in front of me.
(Allena looks back at the letter and finishes reading it. After a few moments she puts it back in the envelope and stands up. She puts her arms around Rage's neck.)
Allena: Well, there isn't much more I can do. I'm in.
Maxx: Your serious?
Allena: On one condition. I don't stop my school work. I don't care who pays for the tickets but if I'm going to be flying out weekly, I want to fly home and be here for my classes. If a show happens to fall on a school day, that takes priority.
Maxx: Oh my god, this is great! I couldn't be happier.
Allena: Merry Christmas babe.
Maxx: It couldn't get an merrier. I think there is a mistletoe hanging over the bed. Let's go celebrate.
Allena: Ohhh! Merry Christmas to me!
(Allena laughs and takes Rage by the hand and leads him into the bedroom. The door closes.)
Act 2
(The scene opens with Rage standing in front of a statue of Jerry "The King" Lawler in downtown Memphis. He stands in front of the statue looking up at it in quiet contemplation. It's evening time and it's quiet in the city. Families are most likely at home preparing for the holidays. But not Rage. He stands alone in what is normaly a town square bustling with foot traffic. The camera zooms in closer as Maxx turns around with the huge statue looming behind him. The intensity that we haven't seen recently from Rage has returned.)
You know...Memphis once revered this man who's statue stands behind me as a legend among men. Now he is considered by the entire Mid South to be a God of this sport. A man who I watched every week and longed to be like. Well the the dream is over and I'm awake now and standing among the greatest competitors in the world that have ever stepped foot in the squared circle. Last week I showed the world who I was and what the future will hold when I dominated B'Wana and Wallace but that is small potatoes compared to the battle ahead.
(Rage looks up once more at Jerry's statue and begins to walk towards the street. The camera keeps rolling.)
We stand now mere days away from One. The greatest night in the world for wrestling fans. A night in which legends will be made and egos will be broken. I will stand along side of B'wana Bludd, Benard Core and Loco in Torneo Cibernetico as we wage a war without attrition against Andre Holmes, Lucious Starr, Punkin and Doc Henry. Somethings could be said about who I happen to be teaming with and our history but the fact of the matter of this. The baddest mofo on the show is a soldier. I am willing to put differences aside for the night to ensure that we leave bodies bloodied and battered. That we dominate the night and clench the victory as a band of brothers in the name of destruction. What do you say Loco and Bludd? Loco, look I know you and eye don't see eye to eye and have had words but I'm willing to forget that much for the time being and the same goes for you B'wana.
I don't discredit any of these men, our opponents. I've stood toe to toe with Andre Holmes and at the end of the night it was my shoulders on the mat for the three count. I know that Doc Henry, Punkin and Starr are among the greatest athletes in the world as they too stand on the shoulders on giants. With that said I will use every ounce of energy, every bit of my being to ensure that the victory resides in the hands of my team. What you must understand you four is that my electrified sights are aimed like a warrior on a battle field. Beneath this carnal furry is my desire of my spirit to never surrender. The ultimatum is a fight. A fight until death and like a stalked animal we shall attack and unleash carnage on a scale that rivals that of the great battles of history.
To my comrades I ask you this...Bloody your f---- hands, go forth into this fight and bathe your enemies until they beg for mercy. It is the 11th hour and ice riddles my bones with the words echoed through out history. From this day to the ending of the world, we in it shall be remember'd. We few, we mighty few, we band of brothers;
for he today that sheds his blood with me, shall be my brother. Be not mistaken that this means I plan to ally with you all to the point of weakness. Once the moment has arrived and our bond of brotherhood has reached it's potential I will take no remorse in burying you all but for the moment at hand it is you and I.
(A rough looking homeless man approaches Maxx. He doesn't have a clue who he is and he seems very tired and haggard. He asks to bum Rage who seems a little irritated at the interruption if he has a smoke. Rage informs him that he doesn't smoke but asks the man to wait. He pulls out his wallet and hands the man a $20 and tells him to get himself some smokes and some dinner before wishing him a Merry Christmas. The homeless man's face erupts with happiness and he thanks Rage over and over. He finally begins to walk off and Rage begins walking again and returns his gaze to the camera.)
It is a season for giving is it not? I have plans of giving so much more. While I'm in the spirit let me give forewarning to the four men of the opposition. Punkin, Henry and Starr. While I haven't had the pleasure of standing in the ring with any of you gentlemen, I am very familiar with all of you. I have spent time at home reviewing you all and I gotta say, you all have something about you that shows why the brass at WCF decided to bring you guys to the very top echelon of this sport but be advised, this Sunday. Staples Center. Los Angeles, California, there is a theater of war waiting for you the second you step in that ring. A theater of battle that pales in comparison to the greatest battles in history. Is your sense of wanting adequate? Is your desire to be the best enough? Will you bring all that you have? Because guys, I guarantee you that I want this victory with every drop of blood and sweat in my body and the only thing standing between me and said victory is you gentlemen. So while I deeply admire your ability and talent, be very aware that I am coming with the force of a thermonuclear warhead dropped from miles above the earth and aimed directly for your position. Are you prepared for the cleansing fire of war?
And no...no Andre Holmes I haven't forgotten you. You've been on my mind a lot as of late. I couldn't have been happier to see that you were on the opposing team for this match. Merry Christmas to me eh? For you, I have the most to give and I can assure you that you will receive. There is a debt unsettled between you and I and it is my most solemn duty to ensure a proper collection on that very account. You've done well thus far making your name in this business and here in the WCF but there is a certain vengeance I crave and it's returning the very favor of the reflection of defeat. No Holmes, I don't discredit you, your a worthy competitor but your arrogance and ego define you as a lost soul drifting among the seas of ruin. A ruin that I will deliver personally. Of all the men standing in the ring at Torneo Cibernetico, it is your face that I have my sights set for. Gentlemen...blood will be shed....You've been warned.
(Rage Maxx pulls the keys out of his pocket and hits a button causing the car's alarm to beep. He gets in the car and shuts the door as the scene fades.)
