After his release from the WCF, Doug "The Thug" Murdock enlisted in and joined the United States Marine Corps Reserves, where he is currently at Parris Island undergoing training to become a United States Marine. After several weeks and many phone calls inquiring on his status, Marine Corps Drill Instructor Gunnery Sergeant Willis and Staff Sergeant Kozak have agreed after several attempts to give a status update on the former WCF Superstar...
"Like so many young men and women who come here to the Island for training, he seemed to be lost in the sauce." stated SSgt Kozak, "But he seems to be adapting well to the changes, and I have faith that he will make an excellent Marine when it is all said and done."
"I had heard a few things about Pvt. Murdock before his arrival to the island, but man, I thought he was going to be trouble. Glad to find out that most of what I saw on television was mostly an act at stupidity, which he seemed to pull off quite well." chimed in GySgt Willis, who has claimed to have once upon a time worked with the elder brother of Doug Murdock. "At the rate that he is going, we may be recommending him for a Commissioning Program, provided he can pass all of the tests."
However, when prompting the two if we could speak with Private Doug Murdock, both men balked at the request, stating "His focus should be 118% and more on becoming a Marine, and not pandering to journalists." stated Willis, with Kozak chiming in with "There should and will be plenty of time for him to talk to the media after he completes The Crucible, for which he and the other 200 or so men in his Company will be undergoing in a few weeks. But to be fair, you're lucky to even get a status update from us, to begin with!"
With news of his successes despite the tragedies that have struck his family as of late, it appears that Doug Murdock, thus far the sole surviving male family member of the Murdock family, has not been affected as expected after the razing of the Murdock Farm in Upstate New York. More to follow, as we try to get from Doug Murdock himself his take on the massacre that occurred in Upstate New York, and if he has any insights on the whereabouts of his brother, who has still yet to turn up at the farm and surrounding locations.
