For the past few months the Dark Riders Gang (DRG) have dominated the WCF Stable Wars. It was formed by Thomas Uriel Bates back in February starting with the Tag Team of Caraid and being joined shortly thereafter by Danny Anderson, Mikey eXtreme, and Jackson White. The group really gained their footing when Gonzo Murdock and Gemini Battle joined the group and, while Thomas Bates was holding the Television Title they won the Trio’s Championship.
At the same time Danny Anderson and Mikey eXtreme were embroiled in a feud over the US Championship with Occulo and Kaz Mazy. It seemed that the DRG couldn’t be stopped.
Slowly but surely the team dwindled. Spencer Adams joined and left as did Jackson White, Danny Anderson and Mikey Extreme were injured and put out of action, Caraid had to go off on secret biker gang duties leaving the Trio’s Champions as the sole members of the Gang.
Then Gonzo Murdock disappeared. Was he injured, or worse? No one knew for a while. They recruited young Doug Murdock and the same thing happened. Few know the whereabouts of the young man. They lost all the titles and it seemed that all was lost for the gang. Gemini Battle and Thomas Bates were the only two left. The two, strong enough as a team to rebuild the group, but with differing priorities at the moment.
Gemini Battle stepped into War destined to prove that the DRG was not going anywhere, and specifically that he was not the baby brother of the group. He did so by earning the most eliminations in the history of War and the following week winning the United States Championship. However at the same Time Thomas Uriel Bates went on to more important things to him. Wrestling was no longer a priority.
Quote
“The past few weeks my heart just hasn’t been here. One idiot in South Carolina sparked a renewed effort to demonize and persecute my people, and my heritage. That controversy spread even here, a place that once accepted many wrestlers who associated as Confederate. The amount of hatred in the back, and the downright ignorance of the people spewing the hatred, reminded me that someone needs to stand up.
More Turmoil in the United States, and even the world, has pulled my arrenrion and my focus from this company, and even this business. Everyone here knows my politics; everyone knows that I’m not one to shy away from it. Everyone knows that I feel that this country is headed downhill like a snowball headed for Hell. It’s not just in the locker room, it’s everywhere. Someone needs to stand up.
That’s what I’m doing. I am officially taking my leave of the WCF, at least for the time being, in order to run for the office of United States Senator from Alabama!”
Thomas Bates quoted that in an exclusive interview with me last week. So it seems that he will be trying to become the United States Champion in a new way. And I for one wish him the best of luck. Our beliefs may differ but you cannot underestimate an intelligent man with a purpose.
As for the DRG, it seems that we have seen the last of them, but rumors have it that there may be a reunion for next year’s Trio’s Cup.
With Helloween around the corner one of the most dominant stables is no more leaving room for someone else to take control of the stable wars. Pantheon is an obvious favorite but we cannot forget the dominance that the AoD has had in the past and seems to be rekindling. #BeachKrew has been all over the place as of late, just inches away from reaching greatness and the newly formed super team of Teo del Sol, Spencer Adams and Vic Venable, especially after their fantastic Tag Team title victory are certainly a force to be reckoned with. With the addition of the caveat that the winner of Hellimination will run the fed there are many questions to be answered. And they will be answered soon.
So for Thomas Bates and the rest of DRG we wish you all the best of luck wherever you are. To Gemini Battle, continue your dominance in the singles division. To the 4 teams in Hellimination, best of luck to all of you and take your responsibility seriously. This company is the greatest in the world. Treat it as such.
