WOW! Did you guys see War! It was absolutely incredible! We all were looking forward to three title shots, and wondering who would be named the number one contender for the World Title after the completion of Dune vs Joey Flash.
The show started off with the epic battle of ZMAC vs Wade Moor vs Jackson White competing for the vacant Internet Title. All three men put it all on the line last night, and it was ZMAC who finally hits the World Tour ’69 on Jackson White and picks up the victory. In a match with twists and turns and false finishes this one truly lived up to the hype. The finish was just as quick as the action and Wade Moor was left on the outside wondering what had happened.
Quickly Seth moved for the Television Title match to begin. Tiburones was looking to retain his title, and looked like he was going to do it, not without using underhanded tactics of course. Even an eye rake at the end couldn’t stop ol’ Teddy Sunshine as he reversed the Dolphin Driver and hooked Jared Holmes up for the pin. The crowd started chanting Teo’s name and it looked like Los Tiburones was going to finally man up and accept defeat.
If you thought that was actually going to happen you were drunker than Seth got after the World Title Match (more on that to come.) Tiburones delivers a cheap shot to Teo after the bell and the vultures of #beachkrew descended on the fallen TV Champion. Tired of seeing these injustices both Spencer Adams and Vic Venable came out to save Teo. Disliking the shot at a fair fight #Beachkrew retreated leaving the trio in the center of the ring looking for a fight.
They would get it at War.
On to the World Title Match, the first time in recent history that the World Title was as anticipated, if not MORE anticipated than the War Match itself. Did Dune in fact murder Joey Flash’s son? Flash was certainly acting as though he did as he unleashed the most violent and tactical assault on the big man that I have ever seen. Joey Flash has been building momentum the past few weeks and really brought it with him to this match.
But Dune would not be outdone. He brought an intensity that only he could bring and he got Joey to the point where he was merely toying with the man. Perhaps his hubris got the better of him, or perhaps he truly felt that Joey needed more punishment inflicted before he went for the pin… in fact, I don’t think a single pin fall was attempted this entire match. The match ended with Pain is Love as Joey cinched it in and wouldn’t let go until Dune could no longer move.
But that wasn’t enough. A hellacious move where Joey tossed both Dune and himself done to exposed concrete causing such severe injuries to both men that an EMT had to drag them off. The injuries were so severe in fact that Joey Flash had to be stripped of his title. Though it will go down in history as the shortest World Title Reign in WCF history, now defeating Jayson Price for that honor, it will not be in vein as Joey Flash must feel some sort of satisfaction for defeating the hottest Champion in recent history.
Not willing to let his World Title to be vacant for long Seth made an historic announcement that the World Title would now be handed to the man or woman who won WAR! So now two titles are on the line at War. Will Torture walk away with both titles, will Los Tiburones, Wade Moor, or Jackson White gain a title after they lost their opportunities earlier? Will David Sanchez, ZMAC, Jeff Purse, Jay Omega, or Alex Richards win the title and be dual title holders? Will dark horses such as Gemini Battle, or Legion pick up the victory? Will Spencer Adams or Vic Venable ride their momentum from earlier to winning the title? There were 52 entrants and each of them had a chance to win the World Title.
We started off with Wolf at number one and Jackson White at number two. Wolf would go on to be in the match for over 2 hours and 11 minutes, is that a record? Someone please let me know! Regardless it was an incredible performance and the crowd was on their feet after Occulo pinned him and removed him from the contest.
Other memorable performances were made by Alex Richards and David Sanchez who stayed in the ring for over an hour and a half each. Billy picked up the pin fall over David Sanchez thus earning him a shot at the United States Title (a story for a different article,) and Spencer Adams pinned Alex Richards. Not only did Spencer pin Richards, but he pinned two men who also had historic performances.
Before this year the record was held at 5 for the most eliminations in War history. This week that record would be broken and tied by both Gemini Battle and Los Tiburones who each scored 6 eliminations this year. Congratulations to both men who put it all on the line and a shout out goes to Spencer Adams who dubbed himself the Record Breakers Dream Stealers as he eliminated both of those men from this match this year.
That leaves two men, Wade Moor and Jay Omega as the final two. After back and forth action, after we all thought that Wade Moor had the victory in hand, but a cardinal error, a mere microsecond of hesitation, and a poor decision to roll Jay Omega into the ring before picking up the victory gave Omega just the right amount of time to recover enough and eventually turn the tides if you will on Wade Moor. Eventually Jay Omega hits Ride the Lightning and picks up the unlikely victory over Wade Moor.
So there we have it… Jay Omega is the new WCF World Champion. After coming in the top 5 the year before, and being clouded by controversy this year he came back and made a name for himself. He did what he knew was possible but few others believed in. He never was one to take the words of others seriously but something tells me that he was fighting with more of a chip on his shoulder than normal this year. So congratulations to…
Wait a minute…
Out comes Torture. Could we have guessed it? Torture was never pinned and was merely chased out of the place by Jayson Price. Though the announcers claimed that he was officially eliminated you never know what Seth is going to do especially when Pantheon and Torture is involved.
Fortunately, for us the decision for him to be eliminated was not overturned and Jay Omega can remain World Champion. Unfortunately for the WCF Jayson Price and Torture seem to have put their differences aside and have joined forces.
This upcoming week puts three titles on the line as #Beachkrew looks to pick up the now Vacant Tag Titles, due to the unfortunate departure of Joey Flash, against the ever vigilant team of Spencer Adams and Vic Venable. Billy gets his US Title shot by facing David Sanchez, and new War Elimination record holder Gemini Battle in a triple threat match. And Teo del Sol puts his TV Title on the line against Dustin Beaver.
Also worth noting that Hellimination teams have been announced as well as the TV Title match. It appears that Seth has the utmost confidence in Teo del Sol.
Swell thanks for reading. I hope you all are as excited for WCF as I am writing about. Good night and good luck.
