It's technically the finals of The Cut, WAR. Whichever man left in the competition, Gunther Blythe or Dexter Radcliffe lasts longest in the match, they become official member of Pantheon. Instantly skyrocketing their stock within WCF with management, but probably not the wrestlers competing against Pantheon as a whole. Gunther's background is really unknown. He isn't a dorky Pantheon fanboy, he isn't an alcoholic, he's not anything. He's a guy that wrestles in black tights and has great technical prowess from training with Corey Black. Surely that isn't all to Gunther ... right?
EARLIER THIS WEEK
Inside the Burning Hammer Dojo, Corey Black and Gunther Blythe are rolling around the ring doing a couple drills. Hitting the ropes, dropping down, leap frog, hiptoss, running senton.
Corey Black
You're not ready for War, Gun. This isn't your scene. You should be one on one with D-Rad, not this mess. I can't even begin to help you. I fucking suck at War.
Gunther Blythe
Whatever happens, happens. I'll knee Dexter's brains out his ass, I'll take my time and beat the clock. I don't even have to win the thing, that isn't the goal here. One step at a time. First I need an actual WCF contract, and I'll get that if I am invited into Pantheon.
Corey Black
You're the best fit for the job. I hope you get in. I just wish I could be more of a trainer for War than I am for just beating someone in a real match.
Gunther Blythe
As if War isn't a real match?
Corey Black
Fuck no, it's lazy. Throw everyone in the company in the ring, whoever is drawn last has the best chance. It isn't even about skill, it is about being lucky. That's why I've never been good in War.
Gunther Blythe
Well let's hope I am last out then.
Corey Black
You don't want that either, your time matters more than your win matters. Win War, don't beat D-Rad's time. You have one more match with WCF assuming you lose the World Title Match. You win and then what? Seth Lerch will probably just strip you of the title and hold another War for it because he has such a hard-on for clusterfucks. It's lose lose, Gun.
Gunther Blythe
Nothing is ever lose lose. I'm going to head back home today to meditate and hopefully ready myself.
Corey Black
Where do you live, anyway? I don't really know much about you.
Gunther Blythe
Small town in Europe. My family owns a winery near Bucharest. I go there and relax.
Corey Black
Oh nice. I'll see you at the show, then. Go get 'em, Impaler. Weird name.
LATER THAT DAY
A helicopter lands on a Monastery that overlooks a vast canyon filled with trees. It's night, there's fog everywhere, only the moon lighting the way. The Monastery is built into the side of a mountain with many different building like structures jutting out of the mountainside, paths and walkways connecting them. The helicopter pad itself even sticks out the rock formation. Out steps Gunther Blythe, dressed in a black suit with black vest and a black tie. Absolutely not a winery. Gunther steps through the red doors inside the compound. It is mostly dark, only lit by candles, but there's plenty of them. Gunther collapses on a bed surrounded by red candles, and the bed itself is even outfitted with red sheets. A beautiful blonde woman enters the room with a giant steak and a goblet filled with red liquid. Gunther sits up and greets the young lady with a smile and takes his supper.
Gunther Blythe
Thank you, this looks delicious.
Young Woman
Anything for you, master. Anything else I can get you?
Gunther Blythe
No my dear, I think this will do. I've got work to do in America, I can't be long. I just came back to recharge. I don't think those fools knows what's coming for them.. muwahahahahahaha!
