The scene opens backstage immediately after Sunday Night Slam. Danny Vice is storming towards the exit of the building after a devastating loss of his tag team title, just one week after finally recapturing it. The title was stolen from his hands, as Jack of Blades was allowing Vice to make the cover and retain, only to have it stolen from his former friend, and mentor, Logan. Janie and Jimmy Vice are trying to chase him down, but his quick pace makes that more difficult than they suspected.
Vice walks with his head down, shaking it from side to side in disgust of another title loss. He dodges co-workers and staff members who try to console him, unaware of their condolences that his hard fought effort ended in defeat tonight. What makes matters worse is he or his partner JJ Biggs, were not even the man covered in the match.
Jimmy Vice: Danny! Danny! Wait for us.
Janie Vice: Danny you can’t be upset. What Logan did was underhanded. He doesn’t deserve those titles.
Danny does not even acknowledge his brother and sister until Jimmy finally catches up with him and grabs him by the arm to stop him from leaving.
Danny Vice: What do you want?
Jimmy Vice: Relax man, it’s just us.
Janie Vice: Ya Danny, you need to relax. It’s one match. Besides, after One it’s like upgrading in gold anyways. That Hardcore title is yours, Skyler Striker has…
Danny Vice: Skyler Striker. You’re worried about Skyler Striker?
Janie Vice: Yeah. I am. He’s your opponent at One.
Jimmy Vice: And your most heated rival since coming to the WCF. Remember, the whole speech about getting rid of the filth in the WCF and how he was your number one priority?
Danny Vice: Yes. That’s just it though.
Janie Vice: What’s just it?
Danny Vice: Nothing. The Vagrant needs to get out of here, clear his head, figure out exactly what he’s supposed to be doing and who he really is?
Janie Vice: Ok that’s fine, but we start training Tuesday morning getting ready…
Danny Vice: No. The Vagrant won’t be there Tuesday. The Vagrant is going to take some real time off.
Jimmy Vice: Danny, but One is one week away. This is your shot to put your name down in history. To walk out of One a champion is something men and women dream about.
Danny Vice: None of it seems to matter right now.
Janie Vice: Not matter.
Danny Vice: That speech Jimmy was referring to. Well, it was about taking out the trash, eradicating the vile and vermin. To put out the fires that plagued this federation and to wash away the stench of the worthless and pathetic. The Vagrant came to eliminate once and for all the weak and meager. To leave absolutely destruction by the wayside. Skyler Striker was in fact the man The Vagrant set his sights on when he entered the WCF. His playing to the crowd, his desperate need for acceptance, his lack of in-ring abilities and skills, and his delusions of a grand crusade all drove The Vagrant crazy. Drove the Vagrant into an alliance with the very men who are the very vile and vermin of this federation. The fire that is slowly putting out the passion of all the WCF fans. The very men who stole away the tag titles tonight. That’s not who The Vagrant was, and who The Vagrant will not allow himself to become.
Jake Hudson comes running up to the Vice family backstage, somewhat excited about something.
Jake Hudson: Danny. Jimmy. Janie. I need to talk to you three. I just talked to Mr. Lerch, and it looks like after One, he’s going to give Biggs and you anoth…
Danny Vice: Sorry Jake. Wrestling just doesn’t seem that important to The Vagrant right now. Nothing really seems important.
Danny turns around and walks out the backdoor, hails a taxi outside and leaves.
Jake Hudson: What’s up with him?
Jimmy Vice: I haven’t seen him like that before. I just hope he can get himself together for next week.
Janie Vice: I just hope he can get himself together at all.
The scene fades out…
