Alright so Celeste and I covered this question in our podcast yesterday and those of you who listened will know what we said (if you haven't listened why the hell not?!) I'm just curious what the rest of you guys think. So hit a button and/or say your piece on this topic

I vite to keep it as it is. In my experience, Seth has been nothing but a fair judge. I'll admit there have been times when I felt like my promo was more creative than my opponents, but it lost and I'll be flabbergasted to why.
In which case, I'll blow Seth's inbox up with PMs and he'll get back to me in a timely manner.
Creating an "unbiased" judging team sounds easy on paper, but it will turn into a huge debacle regardless of how fair they judge. There will be that one bad apple who takes umbridge with it and will spoil the bunch.
Fed wide judging can also create some controversy because the people who lose will feel like they're being looked down on in the eyes of the federation and will promptly quit. Doing it for one match once in a while isn't so bad because that's the gimmick behind the title, and having that system throughout the fed will take away from that specialty match.
I'm not saying these things are 100% likely to happen. Somewhere around 85%, but the risk is greater than the reward in my opinion.

One of the only reasons I think a judging team would be good is because for the life of me I can not figure out how Seth reads through everything in one night. Unless he logs in on an account I'm not aware of or goes "invisible" during the week... I have NO IDEA how Seth reads through all those rps, when a lot of people are writing like 20k rps per rp nowadays, as well as Internet Title twitter stuff which is usually 20ish pages long. I just don't know how he does it without skimming rps and briefly checking to see who's written the most on Twitter lol not trying to create issues here of course I'm genuinely curious to see/know how he does it because I know I'm not the only one to wonder this (I'm just apparently the only one who's stupid enough to ask )

There is no such thing as "unbiased". The closest thing to "unbiased" would be an even mix of opposing biases.

And too much of this can cause conflict and eventually, as Kaz put it, someone will take advantage of the situation and then shit gets ugly all of a sudden... This place has been around since 1999, and I assume the judging system is still the same as it was the day it opened? Hell, it might be a reason why the place has stayed open for so long. One hand in the cookie jar is enough, and that comes from someone who's done plenty of judging on those panels you speak of for judging RP's...

The fact it's one guy makes it a whole lot better, any past feds I've been in had a committee of judges and that seemed a lot lot more biased than a lone dude. No matter how 'fair' it seems there will always be one or two people trying to get people to sway a certain way in matches.
Dude has been doing it for what, fourteen years? Generally the judging is spot on, and any time it isn't he'll always give feedback. I've never once felt furious with a bad beat, and this is coming from the guy who lost to Grime.
Biggest tip I'd give, don't ever write FOR Seth, write for ya fuckin self and love your work. You should always think your stuff is the best, cos shit you wrote it and it's got your heart, soul and creativity in it. Wins and losses will be forgotten, but that piece of writing you did that Saturday night when smiling to yourself while you listen to songs that you love will always be there.

...then again, a council could mean I could say "It wasn't my fault, it was the other guys!"...

Also I'm on the council and anything over 5K loses.
