On March 18, War lived up to its name. All of the WCF’s top competitors battled for the opportunity to receive a World Title shot. But in the end, only one man could be victorious, and that man was Skyler Striker. One of the men he eliminated along the way was Thunder, whom he eliminated with help from his arch-rival, Danny Vice. This week in the main event of Slam, Thunder faces off with Striker one-on-one.
The scene opens on the day of Slam. Thunder and Janie Vice are sitting side-by-side in his luxurious private jet. A very large and muscular bodyguard sits towards the back. Although most of the time only a few people travel on this plane, there are certainly enough seats to accommodate a full flight of people. The seats are spaced apart in such a way that there is enough leg room that any person could fall asleep in these comfortable seats. A young woman pushes a metal cart to where Thunder and Janie are sitting. On it are two very expensive looking glasses and a bottle of fine wine, although what the name is on the label is not clear. She opens the bottle and fills the two glasses with wine, then hands them to Thunder and Janie.
Woman: Here is your wine. The pilot would like you to know that we will be landing in a few mnutes.
Thunder: Thanks.
The woman walks away, still pushing the cart.
Thunder: I can’t wait to get in that hotel room. I need a rest before my match tonight.
Janie: We made reservations, right?
Thunder: Yeah, somebody did that for me, so that won’t be a problem.
Unfortunately for Thunder and Janie, they would find out that this was not the truth.

Once the flight landed, a limo was waiting to take Thunder and his bodyguard (who would see Thunder into the hotel to make sure everything turned out okay) to the Hilton Hotel, where Thunder believed a suite was reserved for him. But he would find out that was not the case.

The black limo pulls up at the huge building that says “Hilton” in big glass letters at the very top. The bodyguard opens the door to Thunder, who gives a nod, showing appreciation; Janie follows behind. They are now standing in the vast, but empty lobby of the Hilton Hotel. The tiled floor shines with a gleam that indicates that it was washed and waxed very recently. There are couches throughout the lobby that have horrible upholstery reminiscent of that which is seen in a funeral parlor. A very ornate chandelier hangs from the ceiling with so many lights that just looking up at it temporarily blind’s ones eyes. At the large wooden front desk sits a young, pretty brunette. Thunder and Janie walk up to the front desk.
Girl: Welcome to the Hilton Hotel. How may I help you?
Thunder: I have reservations for a suite.
Girl: That’s not possible. All the hotels in the city have been booked for months. There’s golf tournament here and WCF Slam is here as well. These two events caused people to book far in advance. And now all of the rooms are filled, so you couldn’t have booked a room.
Thunder immediately jerks his head towards the bodyguard, who is now struck with fear. He has heard what the girl at the front desk has said, and knows he is about to face the brunt of Thunder’s rage. Sure enough, Thunder rushes towards the bodyguard, his face turning all different shades of red. He gets right up in the face of the bodyguard. Janie simply stands back at the desk, although it is obvious that she is angry as well.
Thunder: Who is responsible for this? Was it you?
Bodyguard: No. I’m not in charge of hotel bookings.
Thunder: Then who the hell is?
Bodyguard: Steve is I think.
Thunder: You call him up and tell him he’s fired right this second. Janie, let’s just head to the arena now.
The bodyguard now appears even more afraid.
Bodyguard: It left already.
Thunder: And the perfect day just keeps getting better. Now what do we do?
Janie: We could walk to the arena. It’s only a couple of blocks.
Thunder: Fine. Let’s just do that. I don’t even care anymore. Leave all your bags with my bodyguard, we’ll only take my bag with my gear in it.
They step outside of the hotel and begin walking. This downtown area is not very impressive at all. There are more abandoned buildings than stores as they walking down the sidewalk, all the while trying to avoid the winos and other lowlifes that are walking this area. They pass a few fast food places, pharmacies, and bookstores, but the rest of this area is only alive in the minds of those old enough to remember this area as bustling. All the while, they see the large dome arena in the distance. Finally, after what seemed liked an eternity, they reach the parking lot. Thunder holds out a backstage pass that all wrestlers receive at the previous and they enter.
Much to Thunder’s horror, as he opens the door Hank Brown is standing before him.
Hank: Thunder, I know that you have a big match tonight, but I want to briefly get your thoughts about your match tonight.
Thunder: Hank, you have caught me at the worst possible time. So far everything that could possibly go wrong with my day has gone wrong. No interview today, Hank. Get out of my way.
Thunder gives Hank a little shove, just enough to send him against the wall. He and Janie walk down the long hall towards their locker room. Eventually Janie breaks the silence.
Janie: Are you ready to face Skyler tonight?
Thunder: Of course I am. In the end I’ll put all of what happened today behind me and just focus on my match. Skyler has all the momentum in the world going into this match, but I’ve got something better: revenge. Him and Danny double teamed me and cost me the shot and the World Title that was mine. I don’t have my shot at Danny yet, but now I get my turn against Striker. Tonight in the ring I will embarrass him and show what I can do in a fair fight. Then at the PPV, I get my match to take the Hardcore Title and finish them both off at the same time. I will do that. That, Janie is a promise.
They continue to walk down the hall as the scene fades.
