Alright guys! 2nd Edition of KazMonstuh Reacts! This was a jam packed episode of Slam. Plenty of storyline continuation and setting up for the PPV, Asesinato de Mayo! Let's get started!
DRG Arrives
Truck being driven by Freakshow and The Manager arrives! They grease some federale palms and next thing you know, a wanted DRG has arrived at Slam to compete!
DRG setting up the night here. Shit has gotten real in Mexico for the Dark Riders and now they're bribing their way passed federal agents. I like this segment because it explains how DRG - a group of wanted men - are able to show up at Slam and conpete despite the fact. Its all about who ya know and how deep your pockets are. I also like seeing DRG as a spliy group of faces and heels. I guess they're all trying to lean towards generally heel. If we can get some clarification on that, then the whole fed would be a lot less confused on the matter. Overall, cool seggy to kick off the show with.

Musical Sombrer-OHHHHHHHHHHHS!
Billy, Taco de Genial, Mountain Dew Bob, Betty Adams, Joe Bronie, Bandito, and Johan von Richter all face off in Musical Sombreros! Gravedigger enters the ring on a ChupaCAWBRA and explains the rules of this twisted game.
This segment was great! Legitimately funny and also very terrifying! One thing I would have changed is I would have had GD's Chupa maul one of them for shits and gigs. Overall, the El Rey de Mexico tournament has been a lot of fun. Crazy shenanigans to detract away from some of the seriousness goin' on. True sports entertainment right here. Vinny Mac would have a boner a mile long if he could do stuff like this on WWE programming. Great job!

Pantheon Segment
Three of the four active members of Pantheon - Black, Richards, and Scarecrow - make their way to the ring. Black takes the stick and talks about how Price broke one of his most dangerous weapons - dat elbow doe - at the previous Slam. He talks about how Price has betrayed Pantheon and the brotherhood they stand for. Black calls out Price and gives him an ultimatum: Pantheon or die. Price comes out and talks about how Black already betrayed Pantheon by agreeing to team with Fly and Orbit. Corey says naw fuck that, you choose now. Price chooses Pantheon. Pantheon bro-fist!...but Price goes for Corey's elbow! Richards and Crow break it up and nail Price with a finisher a piece before they all catch him with that four post massacre (Sinclair must have got to em!) and leave Price laid out in the middle of the ring...but not before Price gives Black one last middle finger: the ultimate fuck you to Pantheon. It looks like Pantheon is down to a surviving few now.
This was an awesome segment! From the first couple of words out of Black's cocky mouth, I knew it was gonna be good. It was the moment we've all been waiting for. Jayson needed to pay the Price for all the jaw jackin and attacks to his own Pantheon partner. Huge props to both Black and Price who know how to play their characters to the T. The one criticism I have is I wish Crow and Alex would have spoken some. To me it felt like they were just there and just a little speech from either of them could have changed that completely. Otherwise, great segment! Great story progression!

Henson/Pheonix Segment
Henson is backstage talking to our friendly neighborhood Hank when Katherine Pheonix approaches him looking to throw the blame for Logan's disappearance on Henson's shoulders. Henson shows Katherine the bright side of the situation. Unfortunately for Henson, Katherine is batshit insane and refuses to see the forest for the trees. Katherine acknowledges she likes the equally creepy Henson and they part ways...for now.
This was a pretty entertaining segment. Makes you wonder if Henson actually did have something to do with the disappearance of Logan.
DUN DUN!
Other than that, it was Katherine's usual (insert mannerism) Bear shenanigans. Gives you a good feel for K.L. as a character too.
I give it a

Henson vs Coach vs Hatcher
The three relative newcomers trade a lot of back and forth in this match before Henson picks up the W and teaches Professor Coach a lesson he won't soon forget.
The match itself was pretty good, but what really intrigued me was the ending. Henson gluing the quarters to Coach's chest in the shape of a smiley face and then nailing the general consensus: “WCF! What a place to be!”
Rating: 7/10
Imperium Segment
"Maggies Farm" hits the PA and out walks IMPERIUM!!! All unified under the Buddy Roman banner. The guys take turns on the mic ripping into their upcoming PPV opponents or whoever they feel like shooting on. Buddy Roman drops an intriguing proposition to Alex Richards.
Kind of weird reviewing a segment I was actually involved in, but I'll give it a go anyways. Buddy Roman killed it as always. There's nobody better at pure shoot quite like Buddy. He's one of the most charismatic men when it comes to speech, and it was on display here. ICE killed it. Bobby killed it. The only thing that this segment suffered from was timing, as I said a few things during this segment that happened later on in the night, but what can you do? Imperium dropping bombs and telling you why they're here and what they plan on doing.
Rating: 7/10
Jimmy Wicked vs Night Rider
Jimmy and Rider go back and forth before Night Rider steals the win with a roll up.
Nothing too spectacular going on here wrestling wise. Just a pretty straight and narrow match. Also, how many storylines is Katherine Pheonix involved in? The only word of advice I can give you is to consolidate. Y'all should all come together and figure out how to turn it into one BIG angle instead of a bunch of small ones. I feel like Rider should have picked up a more solid win than a roll up too.
Rating: 5.5/10
Kaz Mazy/Joey Flash Segment
This one pretty heavily involves me, so if somebody else wants to give it a review, go for it!
Rating: N/A
Joey Flash/Celeste vs Mikey eXtreme/Katherine Phoenix
Mikey eXtreme, Katherine Pheonix, and Celeste are all in the ring first. Celeste and Pheonix end up brawling and Pheonix gets taken out for the rest of the match, leaving Mikey alone with Flash and Celeste. Mikey puts up a valiant effort here, but Joey Flash takes him out with a Sudden Flash and scores the win for his team. Afterwards, Joey lays Celeste out with a Sudden Flash after the crowd rains rubber duckys into the ring. The lights dim and a message to Joey plays from none other than...THE FIST! Ominous and chilling. The lights cut back on, but Joey ignores the message and turns his attention to Mikey eXtreme instead. He pulls him back in the ring before Kaz Mazy's music hits and he makes his way to the ring. Kaz argues with Joey...but it was a ploy! He takes his PPV opponent out with a kendo stick and the two lay into the eXtreme one before DRG comes out and clears the ring.
You would think that the large amount of segments taking place after the match would hinder the flow, but it actually all went together quite nicely. I could see that all happening in the span of a minute or two, so it didn't really take away from the match at all. The one thing I can say about this piece: is Katherine Pheonix a wrestler? Haha. She's in every segment imaginable but hasn't wrestled a match in like three weeks I want to see what she can do in the ring! Other than that, this was all great storyline development, and it gets me excited for their match at the PPV. The Fist sending a message to Flash was pretty cool. Who is the true “Internet Champion”?
Spoiler: It's Richards.
Rating: 9/10
Two and a Half Black Guys Segment
Fly and Orbit hit the ring and take turns speaking their minds. They talk about what brought them to the show, but they also state that they're not going to rest on the fact. They're here to be the best again, starting with Trios. Gemini/Bates/Murdock come out to the ring to give the crowd a little taste of whats to come at ADM...but Seth comes out and kills the buzz. Security comes out and holds the two teams apart.
This was a great segment as well. Fly and Orbit are the two of the biggest stars in the WCF for a reason. They know how to play their characters extremely well. Everyone who is struggling with their character should take notes from these two guys on how to give your character a very specific, but non generic, voice. They know exactly what they're going, even if they think they don't, at all times. DRG has their hands full at ADM, no doubt.

Television Championship Match
Snapz vs Thomas Uriel Bates
The two trade a lot of offense before TUB picks up a strange victory over Snapz. Howard Black comes out after the match is over to remind us that he's the Number One Contender for that TV strap. The two have a sort of heated conversation before parting ways with a handshake.
The match went about how I expected it. TUB should have gotten a more dominating victory over Snapz, considering he's no showed weeks in a row now and is most likely gone, so the ending was a little strange. Regardless, the gem in this match was the end when Howie came out and talked about his intentions to go after the TV Championship. This has the potential of developing into an interesting feud. Maybe TUB unintentionally dodges Howard's challenge, or Seth keeps booking other opponents other than Howard, until the point where anger starts boiling over. That would be a lot more interesting than another throwaway title match at a PPV, and a great feud would bring more prestige to the belt as well.
Rating: 8.5/10
Jack Coston Segment
Frank Manor and Jack Coston are being interviewed by Hank Brown. Frank talks about his client and the WCF Mythos. Frank talks about taking down Gods, and that is exactly what Jack is here to do. Coston takes the mic and makes a bold statement about standing out. Also a Pokemon reference.
This was a great way to introduce Coston. You clearly have a great grasp of WCF, seeing as how you had a former character. One thing this segment would benefit from is them talking about the current WCF landscape. You mentioned guys like Cairo, Fly, Digger, Black, etc. which is good, but you could have brought up ICE or some of the other current champions. Overall it was a good segment.
Rating: 7.5/10
Mod vs Danny Anderson
They scuffle for a few minutes before Mod crushes the referee and gets disqualified. Mod fights off a number of the DRG before bailing from the ring, leaving Danny with his brothers. But they end up arguing and Danny storms off, leaving the rest of the DRG looking confused.
I like angled matches. It's a good way to get ya excited for PPV bouts, which are exponentially more meaningful. I like Danny Anderson's strife with the DRG, but it would be a shame to see the work he's put into Anderson go to waste by getting rid of him. Regardless, both guys looked strong heading into their respective matches at the PPV.
Rating: 7/10
Howard Black/Katherine Pheonix Segment
Howard Black's puffin' a stogey when Katherine Pheonix walks up. She talks about how Howard should be pissed that Snapz has a title shot tonight instead of him. Howard talks about how somebody must have taken the Kat's claws out because that cut didn't go deep at all. Tensions flare and they walk away.
Kat be in every segment that aired tonight. This goes back to consolidation. You don't want to overexpose yourself on the show. It didn't really fit in with everything else you have going one. She could have been asking Howard if he knows what happened to Logan, just like she did with Henson earlier in the night. This didn't really progress any story and was nothing more than them taking a couple of jabs at each other. Be careful when you're doing segments, because you don't want them to turn into fluff pieces. The banter was good though, don't get me wrong. Don't think I'm hating or anything.

Vulgar/Kyle Kemp vs Alex Richards/Mystery Partner (CTK John Michaels)
The three known competitors are in the ring before Seth's music hits and he comes out to announce Alex's mystery partner...The Cut Throat Kid John Michaels making his debut! The four men trade offense before Alex picks up the win with the Zimquila Hangover.
This was a pretty good match. I don't think I was a huge fan of the mystery partner thing, considering Kemp/Vulgar didn't really have much in the way of content on the mystery partner and were reduced to only be able to prepare for Alex Richards. Kind of a handicap in my opinion for the team of Kemp/Vulgar who were already going up against an on fire Richards. Either way, it was a solidly written match and an impressive debut for CTK.
Rating: 7/10
Kyle Kemp/Spencer Adams Segment
Adams is walking backstage when Kemp comes out of nowhere with a baseball bat and attempts to takes Spencer out. Kemp loses his bat in the struggle and the two brawl before security breaks it up.
Furthering storyline here. Not much in the way of dialogue, so it was a pretty cut and dry attack segment. Still it got the point across: these two newcomers want each others blood. Building depth is the key to a great story.
Rating: 8/10
Marc Mayhem Segment
Marc Mayhem hits the ring and grabs a stick. The crowd starts chanting “We Want Torture” and Marc addresses the WCF Legend. He talks about how he didn't need him in Trios, how he doesn't need him in his corner, and where Torture gets off thinking Marc needs him there. Marc makes a promise to Torture. He comin' fuh yoo boy!!! #TortFearsDoc...err #TortFearsMarc
This was a good segment that built up to the PPV match. Not only does Marc have Mod to deal with, but he just called out the man who's going to be standing in his corner in the Hardcore Championship match. Da nutz on diz guy! Short, sweet, and effective! Aces!
Rating: 9/10
Isaiah Chavis vs ZMAC
Chavis and ZMAC trade some stellar offense before ZMAC picks up the win with the World Tour 69 and exacts revenge for their match a few weeks ago. Wait...through the crowd...it's Kaz again! ZMAC and KMAZ clean up on Chavis and leave him wasted in the center of the ring.
This was an awesome match. ZMAC was able to pick up some momentum heading into the PPV. Kaz is on a warpath and is also trying to build relationships with individual members of the VK side of Imperium.
Rating: 7.5/10
Occulo/Howard Black vs Oblivion/Marc Mayhem vs Spencer Adams/Gemini Battle vs Bobby Cairo/Kaz Mazy
The four teams all exchange offense #ClotheslineCityBitch before Occulo picks up the win over Kaz after two Subliminal Messages. After the match, Gemini talks up the Mexico crowd and thanks them for having his back even through all of his Evil antics. He persuades them to help DRG escape the arena and the Federales.
This was a good match considering their were eight people to write for. Kudos to anybody who would take on that responsibility. Occulo bodies the current US Champion Kaz heading into his match at the PPV against Anderson and sets up the beginning of a great feud for the United States Championship. Let's bring more prestige and history to this belt Occy!
Rating: 8/10
Occulo/Danny Anderson Segment
Jason Dean – Danny Anderson's childhood friend and new manager - comes out to the ring where the Sentinels remain and talks about Danny and Occulo's Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match at ADM. Occulo tells Jason to get to the point, to which Jason replies that the winner of the match will receive a shot at the United States Championship. He tells Occulo there's one more thing and he turns off the lights! The cage lowers and when the lights cut on, Danny Anderson is in the ring with Occulo. They brawl before security and some random jobbuhs come out to break it up.
Another great set up for a PPV match. One thing WCF has been slackin' on lately is good PPV build ups, and it's nice to see guys taking a step in the right direction in that regard. Hopefully Danny isn't completely missing, otherwise all this build will have been for nothing. You're on a good path Anderson. Stay the course, dude.

Contract Signing: Dune and ICE Beckman
SYKE!
Everyone is anticipating the contract signing when Torture's music hits the PA and he comes out to some wild crowd chants.
Torture Segment
Torture hits the mic and tells Kyle Steele he's a Wrestling Genie and he's giving Kyle three wishes in the form of questions. He tells Kyle he's already used some of them. Kyle asks Torture about what Marc Mayhem said earlier in the night, but Torture admits he didn't hear what Marc had to say but he has a pretty good idea. He tells Marc “You're welcome for the opportunity to wrestle with me in your corner!” and then leaves the ring.
This was another good segment as well. Built more depth for the Hardcore Championship match at ADM and it's gotten me interested in it on a personal level. The only thing this match has been missing is build from Mod, so this seems more like a Marc/Torture feud than anything. Not bad at all, but a little build from Mod would have been good too.
Rating: 9/10
Contract Signing: Dune and ICE Beckman
Dune and ICE Beckman both hit the ring and take their seats at a table. They trade some banter back and forth before we see a video clip of Buddy Roman jamming the Sentinels locker room shut with a forklift. Imperium's music hits the PA and they start surrounding the Sandman in the ring. Dune gets off some offensive, but the sheer numbers overwhelms Dune and all six men are laying the boots to the number one contender. They hand Dune's lifeless body to ICE who slams Dune through the table with a Beer Bong and sends a statement to the #1 Contender. Seth comes out and punishes Imperium by banning Bobby Cairo and Joey Flash from competition.
Here you have a contract signing so you know it was going to end in great physical calamity. Buddy Roman locking the rest of the Sentinels in their locker room was a good idea so when Imperium came out and put the boots to Dune, The Sentinels had a good reason why they couldn't get out to the ring to back up their brother in arms. The champion stood strong at the end of the night and put Dune in a great underdog position. Could history repeat itself at ADM? Could Dune walk out as World Champion? Who knows, but I'm sure excited to see how it plays out. Great job on this segment!

Overall Thoughts
Tonights show was a great go home show for Asesinato de Mayo. Lots of great build up for numerous matches at the PPV, and the seeds were planted for future feuds after the event wraps up.
The only thing that tonight's show suffered from were some timing errors, but that happens when you have upwards of 40 people on the roster. Some things are going to get mixed up a little bit, but that's when you have to buy into the fantasy of it all.
Remember, cut down on the fluff. The show would flow much better without any fluff pieces.
Great job match writers! Great job to everybody who wrote segments!
KAZ'S OF THE WEEK!
A new part I'm going to do where I list my Wrestler of the Week and Match of the Week.
Wrestler(s) of the Week: Occulo/Danny Anderson's and Marc Mayhem/Torture
- these four probably had the best build heading into their matches at the PPV and they got me excited for the outcome of their respective bouts.
Match of the Week: Isaiah Chavis vs ZMAC
- Odin is a great match writer. This match was the perfect blend of action and commentary. Also, the O'Douls part was hilarious. “SAY IT AINT SO, Z!”
