The scene begins in what we can only presume to be the former house of Skyler Striker. There is no furniture, no pictures on the walls, nothing. All has been taken from the house that used to hold Skyler and his daughter Jade. There is only one major thing left in the house, and that is Skyler himself, looking over his past before it gets destroyed forever. Skyler is wearing his usual maroon shirt and pants, torn on his right leg, where his scar from the Thirteen match shows. His shirt is ripped in numerous places and his sunglasses are broken. However, we can see his right eye through the broken lens, which reveals the red, furious anger that Skyler has shown as of late. He walks slowly, reliving memories of the past, knowing they will not remain as they are for much longer. His voice is low, almost depressed.
SS: You know, losing everything isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I took a laid-back attitude to life before this. Now, I have motivation. I have a reason to compete, to fight. I have a reason to live – to reclaim my life. Ironic, in its own way.
Skyler walks out the front door and nods to the men out the front, who proceed to knock down whatever they can as Skyler walks down the neighbourhood street. The sky is blue, the world around is perfect, save the one man who looks as though the streets have ripped him to shreds.
SS: I’m not worried. I will take Jack of Blades’ title. Two shots, I have failed to gain that belt off his waist. When I get a third, in a one on one match, after Jack no longer has the Team of Treachery behind him, I will win. I am persistent. I am determined. And I am also pissed off, which doesn’t help. Losing one’s life may not be bad, but it’s nod good. But Jack must lose first, and I must win first. So Hellimination. The opening, preview match is what I have been launched into. A position slightly lower than what I would have liked, but it happens. Even Torture was an opener once. Three men I don’t particularly have any fondness for, and one that I have mixed feelings for.
Skyler turns a corner into the park and sees a teenager with a Sick Individuals T-Shirt on. He laughs at him and quickly superkicks the teenager, ripping off his shirt and tearing it to shreds. Skyler is lucky that he knocked the kid out before the teenager spotted him and could describe him. Skyler throws the fragments of the shirt into the wind and continues his walk.
SS: The Sick Individuals. Not so sick, as I can recall from your record. You thought you could take J.J. Biggs, and yet even when he lost all sense of self he still defeated both of you, alone! You’re both fools, who were too premature to realise that you had to make sure you could beat him first. No-one knows what an insane man will do. Better to be able to predict their next move when they are sane. Bad choice with the cinderblock, but hey. It’s your choice. Regardless, I have no particular like for either of you, nor a reason to like you. Hence, if you are only an obstacle, then I remove both of you. End of story.
Skyler stops for a second, seeing a construction site to his right. There is, coincidentally, a man with a jackhammer doing something to the concrete out front of the building. Skyler laughs to himself and keeps walking.
SS: Jackhammer… what happened? Back in the WVWF, you’re a World Champion, yet here, you’re nothing! When I get my real shot at your WVWF Championship, then I’ll bother pointing out your every folly. For now, I don’t have to. There’s nothing left to point out that hasn’t already been so. You’ve lost your touch, J-Boy.
Skyler finally reaches the jetty at the end of his walk. He sits on the end, his feet hanging over the water.
SS: And, of course, Danny Vice. I still don’t get you, Danny. You’re neither here nor there, a paradox, every changing. I honestly don’t know what to say. Or I wouldn’t, except for the fact that cost me my life. I get my first chance at revenge. Be ready, Danny, otherwise you won’t know what hit you. Vice, Individuals, and Jackhammer – be ready. The Crusade has begun.
Skyler dives into the water as we end the scene.
