The pouring rain provides no clearance to his sight, with the exception of crimson eyes relaying themselves back to his perception. He was on his hands and knees, recovering from an attack from his unseen adversary. His legs struggled to give support to his frame, eventually betraying him as he fell back to the earth. Mustering strength that was quickly leaving his body, he brings himself up on his own two feet. The eyes keep staring back at him, finally echoing a voice from the darkness of the night.
"You went back on our promise. Your soul is now ours for the taking..."
=============================
His eyes open to the morning sunlight. It was another one of those dreams again. Although the final battle hasn't happened yet, his mind impliemented the thought of it coming soon. Letting himself shake of the impending paranoia, he sat up in the hotel bed and stroked a hand through his dark hair. He yawned and looked over to the clock, located next to the night lamp on the nearby desk.
"Shit. Nearly one o'clock..."
With that, he took a few minutes to clean up and took his belongings with him.
Heading out of the lobby and into the outside world, he paused for a few moments. A female voice was calling him from behind, prompting him to turn around.
"Hey! David! What's going on?!"
His eyes recognized her as she came up towards him. She was Athena, formerly the main interviewer at Yggdrasil Pro. Her eyes stared in amazement, as everybody within Y-Pro lost contact with each other since the closing of the promotion.
David hunched his bag of his shoulder and looked to the young lady.
"It's good to see again, Athena. How are things going for you?"
Athena smirked and shrugged her shoulders.
"Good, I guess. Since Yggdrasil Pro closed down without warning, I'm without a job. So, I'm looking at what WCF has to offer..."
Before David could open his mouth, Athena interrupted.
"So, what do you think of your match tonight against Striker and Neo?"
He sighed. "Bash the opponent" time, he figured.
"Actually, there should be no problem. Neo's past his prime, he's washed up. So no sweat. Striker, however, is just trying to be a thorn in my side when he cut his little promo while resting. The matter of the fact is that when he beat me, I already got done eliminating Lind and Jon Michaels. He was there only at the right time and place. Mostly like his stay in Y-Pro. He merely kept the Pure Title that was basically given to him by using his pal Jon Michaels to beat Lind at Clash a few months ago. But then again, when he faced guys like Lance Ryan, he crumbled. Surely enough, Athena, he can't tackle the "big boys" in the business.
So, why try, Skyler? You're just gonna get kicked to the curb. His destiny, our fate, his rules? Nothing much going for him.
And besides, Australia's a cool place. Believe me, I traveled the world before I came to Y-Pro. And sadly, the best wrestler to come out of the island contienent was the "original" Australian himself, Outback Jack. And look how long Outback Jack lasted. Basically, that's how long Striker's gonna last against guys like Jack of Blades, Reckless Jack, Torture, and Creeping Death. I've seen these guys in action and even wrestled CD and Tort at a given time or two. They're tough. And sadly for Striker, he can't compare to those guys.
So Athena, Striker just doesn't get it. His destiny is to be ran over by everyone, me included, that's a part of the upper echelon of the WCF. With all that said and done, I'm surely going to come out the victor later on today."
As David finished, Athena motioned to a cameraguy hiding behind a few bushes. She smiled.
"Thanks, David!"
After rolling his eyes, David started on his way.
"Not a problem, Athena. Good luck on getting the job..."
