Hey guys
Just wanted to start a thread about my character. The Scarecrow's been here for a few weeks now, I haven't revealed a whole lot about the character, but I'm hoping to speed that up soon. I've tinkered and tweeked his name, origin and whatnot. What I'd really like to know now is, what do you guys think of the guy, and the way the roleplays play out. Not enough relevance to the matches perhaps? Or maybe it's fine. I'll leave it open to you. All opinions are welcome. The floor is yours.

I'm seeing improvement in every promo. You really seem to be growing into the character and finding your voice as a writer. I think your most recent promo that you wrote, the one for the Tag Title contendership match, was your strongest to date. You took off the gloves and really sank your teeth into your opponents with the match commentary (AKA shoot). The one area that I think you could expand upon is the description of your scenes. At times, your promos shift suddenly from one scene to the next and it can be challenging to follow as a reader. I feel as though I'm understanding MOST of what's happening in the promo but that there are bits and pieces that I might be missing out on. Filling in the blanks and creating a strong segue from one scene to the next allows the reader to frame each portion of the promo in its proper context, so that's the one thing I think you could tweak going forward.
Overall, I think you're doing a really good job. You've got a unique character and you seem to enjoy writing for him. That's a huge part of what will keep you motivated on a week to week basis. If you're having a good time exploring your character's world and figuring out who he is and what motivates him, then you're going to find yourself delving into fresh new concepts that are ever more ambitious.

Hey Bobby. thanks for the feedback. Some really good points there to consider. I'll work more on incorporating the shoot better into my roleplays, and work on my description. Perhaps the screenplay layout isn't the way to go. I might change that and experiment with a more traditional narrative prose style and see how it fits. The action does change up fast in the roleplays and that might be something that needs to be looked at. Also, I want to get a new status quo going for the character that allows for more accessibility; Cory's a bit aloof right now; and I think it's costing me decisions because, as you pointed out, it's can be a bit difficult to follow, to find that way into the character and who he is.
Excellent feedback man, most appreciated!

Thanks man, I've got a lot of great characters to write about at the moment, lots of pieces on the board, and I think it's really helping with my progression. Seth, Odin, Hank. It gives the work a sharper focus I think. It's great to be involved with a fed where people really do want to help and encourage. If there's anyone new out here reading this, I suggest you message these guys and ask for advice, don't be afraid to be introspective on your character to, change things up if you need to. And have fun!

Thanks man, appreciate it. I've changed things somewhat over the last few weeks so that Scarecrow's a better fit within the WCF; a bit more flexible and little less dense with the backstory. It needed a review; and I wasn't going to start again, so I just administered a bit of a soft reboot.
Now that I feel comfortable with the direction the character is heading, I'm looking forward to Scarecrow mixing it up with others and seeing where that takes him.
