I don't have any evidence, except that CD used to always pull tricks like this. Seth, who was always the butt of the jokes, finally gets accepted into the inner circle of tom foolery and is allowed an opportunity to be apart of the joke instead of being the joke.

Kind of like the episode of Boy Meets World when Topanga finally got to be apart of Shawn and Corey and pull a bunch of tricks. Seth is Topanga, without the boobs, ass, face or vag.
