The scene opens as I am sitting on the edge of my hotel room bed, still dressed in the long black dress, the pair of black high heeled shoes and the black hat with a black veil attached to it that covers my face that I wore at my brother’s funeral. I’ve just recently arrived here in San Diego for Marina’s big event celebrating her seven years in the wrestling business, but right now, as I look down at the folded up piece of paper in my hand, the last thing I want to do is celebrate anything right now. I suddenly hear a knock at the door before hearing it open, I lift my mascara stained face up, looking and waiting for the person who has just entered my hotel room to find me, after a few moments, I realize this person is probably looking for me but can’t find me.
Stacy
I’m in the bedroom…
Marina
Stacy? It's me! Is this a bad time?
She appears at my bedroom door as I look into her eyes, I’ve finally got a shoulder to cry on, but can I really lay all of this on her the day before she’s meant to be celebrating seven years in this industry? I can tell by the slightly confused look on her face that she’s trying to work out why I’m wearing a dress, I’m not exactly the type of woman who likes to wear a dress and Marina knows this. Again I look down at the folded piece of paper in my hand.
Stacy
No Marina, it’s not a bad time, just had to go back home for a couple of days, it’s nothing really; I don’t want to bother you with it so close to your big event tomorrow.
Marina
No, its fine. I can handle it. But what's going on? Tayla came by my hotel room back in Ireland at one AM saying that I needed to talk to you about something? I'm sure it's serious and making sure you're okay is more important to me than what's going on tomorrow right now.
Stacy
Tayla spoke to you? Just to tell you I needed to talk to you? At one in the morning? That seems a bit much if she just wanted to tell you that, she could have texted you that. Are you sure that’s all she wanted to talk to you about?
Marina
Yeah, you're not the only one that finds it odd. She did talk about how she's in love with this "Steven" and how she's very nervous about telling "him". And she was asking me all these sorts of questions about love and how it feels to be in love among other things. It was a bit odd for me, especially at that hour. She seemed sober to me, so who knows.
She’s in love with a guy called Steven? Who the Hell is Steven? Where did she meet him? Why hasn’t she mentioned him to me at all? This is the last thing I need right now, first the death of my brother and now the woman I love is slipping away from me because she’s in love with someone else.
Stacy
Oh, I see…I didn’t even know she had met someone…
Marina
I'm just as confused as you are quite frankly…
Stacy
I must say, that’s kind of made me feel even worse than I already was…
I wipe away the new tears forming in my eyes with a white handkerchief as I play with the folded piece of paper in my other hand. The contents written on this folded piece of paper will only make things even worse, I want to read what it says, I really do, but at the same time, I don’t want to read what it says.
Stacy
I don’t know what to do Marina, my life is Hell right now, the fact you’re around to help me get through it all is probably the only reason why I’m not six feet underground like my parents…and now…my brother…
Marina
Your brother?
She has a shocked expression on her face.
Marina
Paul's dead? I...I don't know what to say other than....
She takes a deep breath as the reality hits her a bit.
Marina
I'm really sorry about your loss. Oh my God, I can relate to you having gone through it with my father four years ago.
Stacy
Now you know why I had to go back home, and why I’m in this dress…it was the drugs that did it Marina…that’s why on Slam and on Wednesday Night I was out to break that bitch’s neck! She got him hooked back onto the stuff…
I begin to feel the anger building inside of me as I think about the Hell I’ve been through.
Stacy
He got clean when he heard about our parents passing away; he wanted to get out of prison as quickly as he could so he could be there for me. We barely got the chance to catch up and spend some quality time together before she kidnapped him…
Marina
Maybe this is why Tayla told me to come talk to you. Wow, everything makes sense to me now.
Even Marina is starting to get a bit angry and she hardly knew him.
Marina
A murderer as the WCF People's Champion....
She briefly clenches her fists for a few seconds.
Marina
I honestly feel like I'm going to be sick just thinking about it. Putting it all into perspective, I'm completely disgusted by all of this.
She pauses to calm down.
Marina
But, I'm going to contain myself before I go off. I know this is a sensitive situation and I don't want to upset you right now.
Stacy
I don’t think anything can upset me even more than I already am right now…except maybe for this…
I hold up the folded piece of paper I’ve had in my hand since the funeral.
Marina
What is that?
Stacy
It’s a letter from Paul, to me, it was found in his room where they found his body…I have a feeling he knew this time around he wasn’t going to make it and probably knew he didn’t have long left. I want to read it, but at the same time, I don’t.
Marina
Stacy, listen. I understand this is all hard for you right now, but you can't let it detract you from what's important. You got that huge match at XIII coming up and you're overwhelmed by so much. This is going to sound a bit crazy, but I think for your sake, you should read it. Hopefully, it would provide you some kind of closure.
I look down at the letter before looking back up at Marina, she’s right, I know she’s right. I need to read this, I need to straighten myself out, I need to straighten my life out so I can focus on furthering my wrestling career.
Stacy
You’re right; I’ll read it later tonight in private. Then I’ll get myself straightened out ready for my match tomorrow on your show, I don’t think I told you that I managed to get in touch with an old nemesis from my past, she’s retired from professional wrestling now but she agreed to come to this one night thing to wrestle against me, her name is Tori Carter, she’s actually the younger sister of Chase Michaels’ on and off girlfriend, Aeryn.
Marina
That’s cool, I can't wait to see it. Perhaps you can let out some of this pent up emotion and send a strong message to Pantheon. We both know you need some kind of momentum boost after Wednesday Night.
Stacy
Yeah I know, can’t believe I wasted that opportunity, but that’s in past now and I have to think about the future and the future is showing Pantheon what I’m capable of in that ring and showing Bobby Cairo that he didn’t make a mistake when he picked me to be on his team.
I stand to my feet and place the letter from Paul on my bedside table before walking back over to Marina and wrapping my arms around her.
Stacy
Thank you Marina, I’m very lucky to have you as a friend. I’ll let you get back to your day, I need some alone time, to read the letter and all, and I also need to speak to Tayla. If you see her on your way out, can you let her know I wish to speak to her?
Marina
Sure, that's never a problem, I'll let her know when I see her. And listen, anytime, alright? I've always been one to return loyalty to those that have given it to me.
I smile and nod before walking her to my hotel room door; I open it and let her leave.
Stacy
I’ll see you tomorrow…
Marina nods before she leaves down the corridor and I close the door behind me as the scene fades.

The scene re-opens as I have just awoken from a small power nap due to being exhausted from a near twenty-two hour flight from San Diego to Bangkok. After a week of Hell, losing my brother and failing to re-capture the People’s Championship, the last few days have helped rejuvenate me. Last night’s special seven year anniversary show for Marina was a success; I defeated one of my oldest rivals in an epic contest that proved that if Tori ever felt like coming back to professional wrestling, she could still do it. But the icing on the cake of last night’s event was finally getting some revenge on that bitch, Gabriella for all the shit she’s said about me since she’s come back into Marina’ life. Still dressed in my clothes from the flight, a black Nightwish Imaginaerum T-shirt and a pair of dark blue denim jeans, I swing my legs over the side of the bed and get to my feet. The moment my feet touch the soft carpet, I hear a knock at my hotel room door, so I leave my bedroom and make my way over to the front door and open it to find WCF Interviewer, Hank Brown standing there dressed in his typical dark grey suit, white shirt, red tie and a pair of black polished leather shoes.
Stacy
Hank, what are you doing here? I thought you would be over in Hong Kong getting ready for Slam.
Hank
I’m going there in a couple of days, I’ve been asked to pop over here to Thailand to see if I can get a few words from everyone involved in XIII.
Stacy
So I’m guessing you’re here for an interview then?
Hank
If that’s okay with you? I know that you’ve just had a pretty long flight so we can do it some other time if you’d like…
Stacy
No it’s fine, come on in, we can do the interview here…
Hank
Great…
I step aside and allow Hank to enter the room, I close the door behind me and make my way to the kitchen area as Hank sits down in the lounge area and takes a small tape recorder out of his blazer pocket and sets it on the table.
Stacy
Would you like a drink Hank?
Hank
Water please if that’s okay…
Stacy
No problem…
I make my way over to the large silver coloured fridge freezer and open the fridge part of it and take two bottles of water out of it before closing the door behind me. I make my way over to where Hank is sitting and place one of the bottles of water down on the table in front of him before I take a seat opposite him. I take my silver electronic cigarette filled with Dr. Pepper flavoured liquid out of my pocket, press the button five times to activate it before taking a draw of it allowing the nicotine to flow through my body and giving me the buzz that I crave before I exhale, allowing the vapour to leave my mouth.
Hank
Thanks for the water…
He grabs the bottle of water and unscrews the cap, taking a swig as I take another draw of my e-cig.
Hank
What’s that you’ve got there Stacy?
Stacy
It’s a liquid electronic cigarette, you can get different flavoured liquid to put into them and it’s basically got the nicotine but not all the tar and carcinogenics. After my brother died, I made a lifestyle change and decided that I want to stay as healthy as possible and live as long as possible, so I decided to start on these.
Hank
Well good for you Stacy, I hope it works out well for you…
Stacy
Thanks! So shall we get started?
I take a drink from my bottle of water as Hank nods in agreement before he presses the record button on the tape recorder.
Hank
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of the WCF Galaxy, WCF Interviewer, Hank Brown here with the former WCF People’s Champion, Stacy Jones. Thank you for joining me for this WCF.com Exclusive…
Stacy
Pleasure is all mine Hank…
Hank
I’d like to start with your match last week, a milestone match for you here in your WCF career with it being the twenty fifth match you’ve had for the company. The match was a Six Person Tag Team match that saw you team up with Jeff Purse and Johnny Reb to take on the team of Waylon Cash and The Seraphim, Seifer and Chelsea Black Armstrong, three quarters of the group S-PAC. You saw that match end in a victory for you, just not the way you wanted it to go as it was a disqualification victory after Logan got involved and swung a steel chair meant for Jeff Purse, however Purse ducked the shot and you were hit instead…care to comment?
Stacy
Hank, ever since I first began my wrestling career in 2009, I have always fought a fair fight; I have always gone into every single match I have ever had, planning on picking up the victory in a clean fashion. The way I see it Hank…and I know there are some people in wrestling who think the same way as I do and there are some that don’t…but the way I see it is if you feel the need to cheat your way to a victory, then you’re just admitting to yourself, your opponent and every single wrestling fan who watches you, that you aren’t good enough to win without cheating. That’s not the way I operate, I strive to be the very best I can possibly be and I always go into every single match set on getting the victory without taking the easy way out. With what happened last week in my match, it wasn’t the fact that Logan used a chair on me that pissed me off, it’s the fact that he got involved in my business and not to mention, he felt like he deserved thanks from me for him handing me a victory. Ever since I fucking started wrestling, I have never been handed anything, I have worked for everything I have ever achieved and I am not going to thank some prick for handing me a victory that I didn’t want him to hand to me!
Hank
Well staying on topic with last week, you and your tag team partner, Marina Valdivia had yet another physical confrontation with the former Tag Team Champions, the Shadow Demons and it didn’t exactly end well for either of you as you were both left out cold courtesy of the former champions, how do you feel about what happened?
Stacy
Still a bit sore in all honesty Hank, but that attack from the Shadow Demons just proves that they finally acknowledge that The Trinity are a threat to them…and they fucking should! If those two fools think that the beating they gave us last week is going to stop us, then they couldn’t be any further from the truth. They may have knocked us down, but we will continue to get back up time after time…
Hank
Also last week, you were announced along with Odin Balfore, Natural ICE Beckman and Dr. Remus Micayle by Bobby Cairo as part of Team Thickness to take on Pantheon at this month’s XIII event in a War Games match. What are your thoughts on your team mates, your opponents, the match and your chances?
Stacy
Well Hank, I feel really happy over being selected by Bobby Cairo to be on this team, it shows that there are some people in this company who recognize that I’m a talented wrestler. Cairo and Odin Balfore are arguably the greatest tag team that’s ever stepped foot into this company, Dr. Remus Micayle is a former United States Champion and one half of the current Tag Team Champions and Natural ICE Beckman is the current United States Champion. We may have different outlooks on why we want to be involved in this match, I’m pretty much the only one on this team I think who doesn’t hate the fact that Pantheon are always at the top and the reason why I wanted to be part of this match was because I wanted to show the entirety of the WCF that I am more than capable of hanging with the best in this business…
I take a swig of my water along with another drag of my e-cig.
Stacy
You see Hank, I don’t hate Pantheon for being at the top and yeah of course it’s disappointing that the same guys are always at the top, but they’re at the top because they’re that damn good. If you don’t want them at the top, you’ve got to take them down and take their place; you’ve got to prove that you deserve to be in their place at the top, that’s what this business is all about. I’m going to take a famous quote and change it a little, a quote said by one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, to be the best, you’ve got to beat the best.
Hank takes another swig of his water, nodding in agreement.
Stacy
The match itself, well it’s going to be interesting, it’s something I’ve never been a part of, but then again, a lot of things happening at this event is something new to me. It’s going to be one Hell of a challenge, but a challenge that I’m ready for nonetheless and I hope Corey Black, Jeff Purse, Steve Orbit, Jonny Fly and Jayson Price know that I am ready for this challenge. I plan on proving my worth to Bobby Cairo, I plan on proving that he didn’t make a mistake picking me to be a member of Team Thickness, I plan on proving that I am the future of this business and that one day I will become the World Heavyweight Champion!
Hank
Well Stacy, thank you for this but I’m afraid we’re out of time…good luck at XIII and once again, thanks for joining me for this WCF.com Exclusive.
Stacy
Thank you Hank and you’re welcome…
Hank presses the stop button on the tape recorder and we continue chatting away to one another as the scene fades.
