~~The scene is once again the press conference setting. As promised the press has again come together for the second press conference to announce that Lance Ryan has indeed joined WCF and will be making his in ring debut in the very near future. At the last press conference Lance showed some of his old spark. He showed the cockiness, and the brashness that made him so successful in the past. He went as far as to put the entire roster on notice that he would be coming to take on each and every one of them, and had his eyes squarely set on the prize, that prize being to again ride high at the top of the business.
This time, unlike last time, there is nobody seated at the table around the podium. The reporters come to a hush as “No More Sorrow” blares through the room, and Lance Ryan comes out from a room that is off to the side. He is dressed in his ring gear, blue tights that say his name down the side, and are wrapped in barbed wire designs. His shirt says “The Canadian Icon” and has a Canadian Flag underneath. His hair is again tied back into a ponytail and he is without sunglasses this time. He walks up to the podium and waits for the music to fade out.~~
Again, thank you all for coming out to see the man that is fixing to once again change the face of the wrestling business and turn the entire industry upside down. As I stated at the last press conference, I have officially signed the dotted line on a contract with WCF and will be inside that ring very soon. What I plan to do now is take questions for the next twenty minutes. I will take any and all questions, and will appreciate when you use your print, and use a segment to describe to the wrestling fans around the world about the impact that my return will bring. The floor is yours.
Reporter 1:
Lance, the last time that we saw you in a wrestling ring was February 9th of last year. You were fighting Silvermane in the third round of the Roughkut Invitational Tournament. The match was a great one, and Silvermane edged you out in a toughly contested match. At that point in time, we were led to believe that that would in fact be your last match. What has changed your mind?
Well, at that time, I too was under the impression that I had wrestled my last match in the industry. I had family commitments, I had nagging injuries, and essentially I had lost my passion for the business. Rather than stick around and just be another member of a roster, I decided that it was time to walk away. Since then a lot has changed. I will not drag my personal life into the situation, but what I will say is that I have healed, and I have regained my passion for the business. Basically, I had to decide if I could get back into the business without wrestling. I had to figure out if I could do something backstage, or manage other wrestlers…and the conclusion that I came to is that I could not be around the ring, without being in the ring. That is why I am back.
Reporter 2:
There is no doubt that you have been in this business for many years. Ten years, and thirteen world championships speak for themselves. But after a layout of nearly two years, do you actually believe that you can get back into this and go with the young superstars that are on the rise?
If I didn’t think that I could pull this off, I wouldn’t be here. Simple as that. I have been an upper echelon for star for my entire career, and if I didn’t feel that I could run at that level, I wouldn’t be coming back to the ring. The fact of the matter is this, I have been watching these WCF wrestlers, and I know that I am better than the vast majority of the workers in this company. I know that there is nobody on this roster that I can not go toe to toe with, and have a decent chance of coming out on top. There is nobody in this company that I fear, nobody that I feel is in my league when I am at the top of my game. Before you ask, yes, I am at the top of my game, I feel better than I have felt in years. I feel like I have added on at least five years to my career, and I plan to keep adding world titles to my collection within that time frame.
Reporter 3:
The last time that we saw you in an actual federation, you were fighting in a World Title Match. You were the World Champion, and you aligned yourself with one of your opponents in a Triple Threat Match, that man…
RECKLESS JACK! Many of you know the history here. Reckless Jack turned his back on me like the yellow bellied coward that he is. He showed the entire world that he cannot be trusted and that he does not know smart business when he sees it! Reckless Jack is the lowest type of scum that you find in this business. He is in fact the kind of man that made me decide to get out of the business. I have no respect for Reckless Jack, and no respect for anyone that follows in his footsteps. Reckless Jack, I recommend that you stay clear of me, I don’t want to see you in the ring with me, I don’t want to see you backstage…just stay out of my way, because if I do in fact see you I will not be held responsible for my actions!
Reporter 3:
I was actually just going to ask if there was any coincidence that you and RJ will again find yourselves together in WCF.
No. If you need to ask something that is that ridiculous, then you do not know who I am. I do not guide my career based on the past, I guide myself based on the future. To suggest that Reckless Jack is a reason why I came to WCF is absurd. Reckless Jack just knows how to get his name in lights. He likes to suck the life out of careers and steal the spotlight from true superstars. I would be satisfied to never see Reckless Jack again, so that is not why I am in WCF. I am in fact in WCF so that I can be a part of the best damn company in the sport today.
Reporter 4:
But, the fact of the matter is that Reckless Jack….
Is this press conference about Reckless Jack? Does Reckless Jack play any major roll in the history of my illustrious career? Has Reckless Jack done anything that actually matters?
Reporter 5:
Well, as stated, he did end your last run as champion. So I think that…
~~At this Lance loses his cool. He pulls the ponytail out of his hair and throws the podium over.~~
Reckless Jack is not Lance Ryan! We are here to talk about the return of a legend, not the continuing career of a worthless piece of crap. Talk about Creeping Death, talk about Cairo, talk about Vice…but for the love of Christ, Reckless Jack does not need publicity, he has not earned it, nor does he deserve it! In fact, I am finished with this, you people are just like the fans that show up to watch the shows, you are not worthy of my time, of my talent or of my charisma. I am better than everyone in this room, and if you don’t want to do things my way, you won’t get any more of my time.
~~As has been characteristic of him in his career, Lance has seemingly lost his composure and let his emotions get the better of him. He storms off the stage and leaves the room.~~
~~Questions remain, how will Lance fair in his first match? Will he and Reckless Jack cross paths? Does Lance have what it takes to again climb to the top of the business? Can he control his emotions?~~
~~The scene fades out leaving everyone pondering what the future has in store for Lance Ryan~~
