The whole sha-bang started out with a Tag Team match that some may have even questioned as to why this match was on the card, however, I believe this match was entertaining in it's own right. A great way to start out Wrestlemania. Carlito was funny, Masters actually may have had his best match. Kane and Big Show won, which is a huge help to get us in the mood for whats to come at the big show.. No pun intended. Score - 3/5.
The ladder match was filled with talent, filled with high hopes, and could have been a real kick ass match. It was.. just that. Tons of bumps. Some of the same, but in Ladder matches, these bumps just can't get old. Especially when Flair is the one taking the bump. Finlay had some cool moves. Matt Hardy showed he still has talent to wrestle.. in gimmick matches. That other black guy was cool, but didn't really notice too much out of him. RVD and Shelton had a great move list. The running up the ladder flip over the rope deal was great. The Chair/Dropkick from RVD was awesome. His splash could have been better, but it's the thought that counts. This match was great, and the ending was much more. The springboard to the ladder from Shelton wow'ed me. Then RVD knocking them over the top rope and see'ing Matt Hardy hit his head on the apron owned. RVD won. Great match. Score - 5/5.
I might be out of order now. So just bare with me.
JBL defeated Chris Benoit, and I frankly don't give a shit. Even if Benoit would have won, I still wouldn't care. Seriously. JBL doing the whole Eddie thing was cool, but it got old after .. I don't know.. maybe the 300th time he did it. Stop trying to take heat, if you don't get it in the first place, it's because people took a piss break during the match. The match was good, but just had no interest spark. An alright ending, I guess thats how an ending has to go with JBL in the match. I'll give this match a good score, just had no interest. Score - 3/5. Pretty good score.
Womens Championship match. Trish vs James. Well. Guess what? This match was absolute shit. Two women shall never wrestle. Ever. It was a huge waste of time. James did rub up on Trishs *Whoo-Hoo* and licked her fingers.. I liked that. I'll give this match a low score, just because of the botched ending, women wrestling, and I was out of Capri-suns. Score - 2/5.
Boogeyman and Booker T can't carry a match to save their lives. The match was alright, but this score is going to be good only due to the promo before it. Seriously. Million dollar man. Snitski? Goldust. Seriously. This was amazing. The promo actually made me laugh/mark at the same time. Score - 4/5.
Edge vs Foley was classic. I think Foley just might have his defining Wrestlemania moment, even better than his one time main event. Edge deserves some props for going through some of the stuff. Not as much as I'd like to prop him, but the match was still a blast to watch. I don't do it much, but during this match I'd say "WOW" or "OH SHIT". This was a blood match. Pure fighting as well. It was good. Great match, with an alright ending. Could have been a better ending than that. Edge won. Foley came back to show that he's always willing to come out of retirement, and push some guys that can't get over for some reason. Score - 4/5. Great match.
Hall of Fame thing was great. I'll just give this plus 2 points. Just because it was cool. Eddie owned.
Undertaker vs Mark Henry? Well.. let's see. This match was pure shit. Seriously. Don't even try to say "well.. it was alright". Because it wasn't. It was less than alright. Pretty sad for the Undertaker who has to keep fighting guys that just can't look good against him. Wtf is Mark Henry doing anyway? Get the fuck out of the business. Score - 1/5.
HBK vs Vince was good. Seemed shorter than what I wanted to see. Spirit Squad came in and made asses of themselves. Of course. Shane came out and looked funny. The match was entertaining then it took a turn.. a turn for the fuckin' better!! The chair shots. The trash can shots. The ladder and the table. And of course the huge elbow drop. It was all worth it. I was looking for Bret Hart, but I'm not letting that take away from the score. Score - 4/5.
Playboy Match? Lame. score - 2/5.. It took up time that Rey, Angle and Orton couldhave used.. now lets get onto that match.
I liked how Rey own. Seriously. I'm not a Rey pusher at all. Seriously. I think he shouldn't have been in the match. But he was. So I have to score it accordingly. The first, I think, three minutes was great. Maybe even five minutes. The Orton dropkick to Mysterio in midair was great. The whole reversal deal was awesome. The german suplex to Orton, to Mysterio was great. I liked how they'd take one man out of the ring to keep the momentum up. It was a cool idea. Angle still shows no signs of letting up at all. The match seemed short. Mysterio botched the turnbuckle deal, and the kick was enough to save it. Not dogging that though, that was just an accident. Mysterio did good. Orton did good too with the RKO's and what not. The match just seemed rushed, and the ending was too lame. This match could have been on Smackdown. Score - 3/5. Good job to Rey winning though. I was totally into it at the end.. then it ended. . 3/5.
HHH vs Cena.. Uhm this match was crap. This match could have been on RAW. Seriously. The match it'sself was good, but not a main event type match at Wrestlemania. It didn't have the suspense. It didn't have the characters to be a great Wrestlemania match. It didn't seem rushed, and the entrances we're classic. Just didn't feel it. Maybe because of the crowd being entertaining more than the match. The ending was fuckin stupid too. HHH tapped? Fuck that. Cena isn't a submissionist. Good job guys, you know how to ruin a Wrestlemania. ha. Score - 3/5.
Final score was 36/55. Thats 65%. Which seems weird, because WrestleMania I thought was better than a D+. I'd score it a high C+. Owell, numbers don't lie.
It was a good Wrestlemania though, not the best in recent years, but whatever. Jim Ross announcing. The four man commentary in the ladder match was great. Styles announcing the Edge/Foley fight. Hall of Fame was good. Goldust and Million Dollar man was funny. It was worth my fifty bucks for the one night of wrestling I watch a year. Still > than watchng TNA all year long.
