Some people have wondered whatever happened to the WCF Commissioner, Eric Price. Having been appointed as commissioner shortly after Seth Lerch regained the WCF, he threw his weight around his first few weeks in office but has not been seen on WCF Programming for nearly two months leading some to wonder if he is still with the WCF, if he is the commissioner still, or if he has resigned and/or been fired. Ever since the WAR match last year and his 2nd place finish for a second year in a row, there have been rumors swirling that Eric Price simply has not been happy with his role in the company and has been looking for other opportunities.
Some have pointed to Jonny Fly as the source of Eric Price's displeasure as he never received a one on one match after nearly beating him during the WAR match. These same sources have said that Eric Price's hatred for Jonny Fly is never-ending and he carries a great bitterness over the fact that he beat him at WAR and will not let it go with it being his mission to completely dismantle Jonny Fly as both a wrestler and a human being.
Some have pointed to Sarah Twilight as the source of Eric Price's displeasure as he was not able to beat her at One despite both putting on a hell of a match that she only barely won that night with both competitors being stretchered out of the arena. These sources claim that he despised the fact that the company put her over him and that he deserved the spotlight far over her with his reasoning being that without him, she would have been nothing.
Some have even pointed to Steve Orbit as the source Eric Price's displeasure as he felt that Orbit stole the awards that rightfully belonged to him last year. These sources claim that Eric Price's long World Title reign should have received far more recognition than Steve Orbit's short ride at the top and that the yearly WCF awards were nothing but a charade slanted and tainted as a popularity contest rather than a true show of greatness.
The rumor mill being what it is, we at WCF.com decided to catch up with the commissioner and ask him directly why he has not been on television recently. He had this to say:
"I've heard all these crazy rumors out there, that Caliban pissed me off, that Fly pissed me off, Orbit, Twilight, so many names ... I think one person even thought Adam Young pissed me off to no end and that's why I left. Let me clarify right now, I am still in the WCF and I am still its commissioner. I've simply been taking care of my job as the Commissioner of the WCF and handling my backstage role as best I can trying to deal with the day to day operations such as match making, contract disputes, etc. I haven't been on television simply because I don't see the need for me take up air time just to talk; when I return to television, believe me, it'll be because I have something important to address. I'm not mad at anyone nor do I have some secret hatred or bitterness at anyone. Fact is there's only one person responsible for both my successes and failures and that's me and I have to own up to both and have tried to do so as of late as best I can.
I learned from my last tenure as owner that when you try to put your hand in everything, you end up helping no one. If Seth Lerch and Joey Nitro want to antagonize everyone and make enemies left and right, that's their business. I will simply do my job and try to be as fair as possible. I used to preach about fair leadership, now I actually practice it. If someone wants me to help settle a dispute or address a concern they have, I'll be more than happy to but other than that, I'm enjoying my new role and hope to continue to do so."
When asked if he ever planned to return to the ring, he had this to say:
"I'm as healthy and fit as ever. My injuries since One and what not have all healed up and I feel great. Ring return? We'll see, for now I'm happy in my backstage role. Never say never in this business."
