Concern over Brent

There is unrest over the well being of 'The Shine' Brent Alpine following last night's Explosion PPV.

'Alpine just wasn't his usual self. He's normally bubbly and infuriatingly confident. But last night he was gloomy, anxious and jittery' a source revealed.

After losing by total knockout to Chelsea Black Armstrong in a match where he looked decidedly off colour, Alpine slipped away from the building with everyone none the wiser. Concerned by his head injuries during the match, officials repeatedly tried calling him to partake in a mandatory concussion test. However, Alpine's phone was off and he has not been seen or heard from since.

Even more out of character, he left his beloved teacup pig manager Percy Micro at the United Center unattended.

Speculation is spreading backstage and people are trying to work out if signs had been there for the last few weeks. The consensus, though, is that this meltdown has come totally out the blue. It is thought that the prospect of being three matches away from the World Title had been getting to Brent. This might explain his continual obsession with the TV Title. It is considered Alpine's 'safe haven' away from the pressure that the upper midcard and main event scenes bring.

WCF bookers were hoping to push Alpine to a top program leading to potentially a main event run this Summer. However, many are now wondering if he has the mental strength to carry such a big role. Even beyond that, there is genuine worry for his state of mind and the change of demeanor was so severe that it is feared that he might be self destructive and at severe health risk.

It is hoped that Brent will continue his promising WCF career but, with the Australian rookie so hard to read, many are banding about suggestions that he will imminently terminate his contract... or worse.

48 hours have passed with no sign of Brent Alpine and he has now officially been declared a missing person. Several media outlets are beginning to pick up on this story.

An anonymous friend of Alpine's, who spoke to him hours before the Pay Per View, is said to be deeply alarmed by how Brent seemed. This friend has reportedly berated WCF management for being passive in their efforts to locate the former TV Champion. WCF's attitude, understandably, is that the wrestling business is an emotionally draining industry and, if a search party were to be sent for every superstar who went AWOL for 2 days, there would be manhunts pretty much weekly.

For those who were wondering, Percy Micro was claimed from WCF officials by members of Sequitus who are keen to play down their teammate's absence and not prematurely provoke a media frenzy. It is also claimed that not a single utterance has passed through Percy's electrolarynx since Brent left the arena.

News just in since this article was started! Police have received claims that Alpine was spotted with Elvis Presley, Tupac Shakur, Notorious BIG and Alf in a kebab shop in Nuremberg, Germany last night. This lead is only half heartedly being followed up.

A week has passed and Brent Alpine has still not been found. Evidence of his whereabouts seems to be disappearing with each passing day while concern is obviously rising.

We spoke with a top ranking official at WCF and he was somewhat relaxed about the situation. He feels that Alpine is just taking advantage, albeit unprofessionally, of the WCF's current post-Explosion break. He wants Alpine to be booked in a match for the next Slam because he feels such an obligation will encourage the proud Brent to emerge from the shadows to compete.

We will wait to see if Alpine is booked on the Slam card or not.

15 days missing.

Brent's mother Madison is convinced The Shine has passed away. She said 'it's not in his nature not to have contacted me in 2 weeks'. Equally worrying, his manager Percy Micro claimed on Slam that he too has now given up hope that Alpine will return. As Micro has been keeping Brent under close surveillance for months now, this admission will have naturally spread some fear.

WCF officials are trying to be calm while doing all they can to help police investigations. A top official told me the following -

'Brent Alpine is just going through a dip in morale following his loss to Chelsea Black Armstrong at Explosion. We believe he's simply clearing his head and will be back to active duty when he's back motivated. What better way to get him motivated than booking him in a compelling fourway on Slam where he can earn a US Title shot?'

Some members of the booking team are high on Alpine's step brother 'The Vulture' Dallas Culture and believe that, while extremely raw, he has similar potential to the former TV Champion. He covered for Alpine in Sequitus' win over Redneck Nation on Sunday and is fully prepared and keen to do so again on Sunday if required.

Speaking of Sequitus, they were not available for comment. It is thought they will give their views on Alpine's status during the week (assuming he doesn't return by then).
