Moments after the conclusion of WCF Wednesday Night on January 1st, 2014, WCF.com caught up with Jonny Fly in his locker room backstage. After Fly and Steve Orbit agreed to a "rubber match" in their ongoing feud at One 2014, we reached out to Fly for his first comments regarding the match.
"Fly: I've wrestled a long time, in a lot of big matches. Even with that said, my match against Orbit at One two weeks ago may have been the greatest match I've ever participated in. It was an instant classic, and I think we seen that in the response from the fans. I'm looking forward to doing it again next year.
One is the biggest show this company holds. It's the only suitable event to host a rematch of this magnitude. Let me be clear about this one more time though; I'm better than Steve Orbit. I will beat him again and I will do it again on this company's greatest stage. I'll say this one last time; Orbit's win at Explosion 2013 was a fluke. At the end, I always win. For Steve Orbit, I'll prove that one more time."
It's a long time between now and One. There's sure to be a lot more said about this rematch by both superstars in the months to come.

In the morning after Ultimate Showdown, WCF.com caught up with Jonny Fly at his home for his thoughts on his stablemate Steve Orbit's loss to Natural 'ICE' Beckman. Still recovering from the attack last week by Steeltoe Joe, Fly shared his thoughts on the Showdown match, Orbit's reign, and the World Title itself.
"Fly: It's somewhat unceremonious for Orbit. He deserved better than this. The man was in midst of a historic World Title reign, and had to try to sift through nine other 'lesser' champions to retain. Yet, he went out there and fuckin' shined. I can say this from experience, being 'THE MAN' for so long tends to wear on you. Beckman and the other competitors had it easy. They had little to lose. They were fresh. They weren't busting up this company's best talent for the last five months, like Orbit.
Fly: However, from my own self-centered perspective, this could be a good thing. Steve Orbit's ALWAYS hungry, that's what makes him so damn good. I'm the same way. Now, the two of us, we can combine that hunger with a tangible goal. We can have a singular focus. Something that is going to make the next five months more important than the last five. Orbit and I have a rematch scheduled for One, and it just wouldn't the same if the World Title isn't on the line when that match takes place. He won't truly be able to earn his revenge from last year if the stakes aren't the same, and one of us isn't the World Champion.
Fly: You guys tell Steve this for me, forget Beckman. He has a long way to go to be the next Steve Orbit. The focus is Jonny Fly versus Steve Orbit at One. We have to get our hands on that belt before then. It's a competition, just like it always is between us. ...go!"
