From a reply I just made to the Recap Show thingy by Buzz --
= = = = = = = =
[NOTE: Ok... the [ i ] / italics tags are fucked up. Every time I use brakets to close off a sentence, if it begins with an 'i', it screws up the whole thing. It'll erase the sentence, and put everything after the brackets in italics. Other tags also do stuff like that. Seth said he couldn't fix it, so I'm hoping maybe someone else can. I originally posted the following, but the sentence that begins with 'I have someone in mind' was erased. And the rest was put into italics. Then, I tried to edit it and fix it... but ProBoards crashed for a bit. Sooo... I'm REALLY hoping the tags can be fixed. By someone. Pleasie-please? ... Maybe ModDeuce? Could you fix something like that? ... :^( Anywayz, here's the post, re-posted, with the fixes I had to put in place... aka, a space between the bracket and the 'I' >.< ]
= = = = = = = =
Sooo... yeah. Would love it if someone could fix that, cuz it's gonna make roleplaying difficult... thanks to anyone who may have an idea...

I have someone in mind and something otherwise
I usually, if I want to use any HTML, is press the green reply button and just highlight what I want to be HTMLized and thats that. However, for the sake of seeing if this works or not, I did type the whole bracket shit up top there to see if it worked for me.

And it worked for me...so maybe you are doing it wrong? Its [*i] minus the * to start the tag and [/i*] minus the * to close it.

I've also worked out that if you want something coloured and in italic or bold you don't need the [/ color] at the end of the sentence

No.
That's not what I'm asking.
I'll write something like this --
[ I am raYne and this is JackAss.]
And without the space between 'I' and the bracket... EVERYTHING is italicized.
That's what I'm getting at. That makes it where I can't put words in brackets.
Cuz, even if the word is 'in', or 'it' or even other words like 'bryant' [the words will be bold] or 'umbrella' [the words will be underlined]... that's what happens.
The bracketed words will be erased. And everything else after that will be modified.
I don't want that. I wanna be able to use bracketed sentences normally.
I have no problem with using italics or whatever, but when I write sentences in brackets, I want them to appear. And not be erased. And for all of the other text NOT to be affected.
If that makes sense.

That's my point. This is what I wrote :
[ i am testing this out] hhh
Only without the space.
That is my problem.

Then don't do that. Use parenthesis.

I've always used brackets instead of parentheses. It's a lot easier for me... was just hoping maybe someone would manage to come up with something. But ok...

it just must be how the HTML works on this forum dude. Just...make sure none of your bracketed sentences start with the letter i.

Perhaps try () or {}

The thing is, I use brackets because it's much easier for me when I'm writing a long roleplay.
And not using the letter 'i' at the start of the sentence... no. That's even worse than using parentheses, which I may have to resort to...
Between this, not being able to change the timezone, and a whole host of other problems... I SERIOUSLY hate the new ProBoards. >.<

Yeah we've been dealing with this issue for a while. Pretty sure it's proboards and it can't be fixed.
I used to use brackets in my descriptive parts of my RPs but I stopped using them altogether.
I used to do [...I went to the store] instead of just using the I to avoid it. That's a trick I learned from Polar Phantasm.

Thank you, Mack, I might try something along those lines. I also realized it's the same with the 'a' tag, as, when I start a bracketed sentence with one, it removes all formatting after that part. And I found this out on my own forum, where I'm really the only member, but it's the one where you saw my WSE shows I wrote. So, yip, it's a ProBoards problem. I reiterate-- I HATE the new ProBoards. With a fiery passion >.<
