WCF.com reports that wrestler Popo Morientes Blanco, better known as Morientes, went back for a quick visit to Spain in order to check up on his younger brother Iker, whom as many of the viewers know, was brutally attacked on national television by a group of masked hoodlums. We here at Wrestling Championship Federation express our well-wishes to Iker, and wish him well in his recovery. We conducted an interview over Skype, and below lies a rough transcript.
WCF: First things first, how is your younger brother?
Morientes: Iker is hurt. Bad. From what I heard, both of his hands were broken in three different areas, and eight ribs were fractured. His larynx was swollen shut, but thank goodness nothing was crushed there. He's going to be in the hospital for quite a while, but if nothing goes wrong, he's expected to make a full recovery in four to five months.
WCF: That's great to hear, and we certainly hope he's going to all right. Do you think this will affect your match two weeks from now at the PPV?
Morientes: I presume you are talking about the Barbed Wire Massacre match Gravedigger and I are going to participate in, because you know, I have two matches. According to Jonny Fly, I have no proof that he was the one behind the attack, and even so, he can't be punished because Iker isn't a WCF employee. I have no issue with that, because at Asesinato De Mayo, I'm going to make him wish Fly had grew a pair instead. Suffice it to say that it's going to be bloody, and I'm going to make sure he's going to spill more than what I'm going to.
WCF: And what about your other match? The Trios Cup finals where Rebellion takes on Pantheon?
Morientes: Look, like it or not, my main focus in on Gravedigger, and by God I am going to make him pay. But I'll be sure to train up for the Trios Cup as well. Rebellion are by far the underdogs in this match, but you just take a look. I'm sure that we'll be able to surprise them and perhaps even show them a thing or two. Corey Black, Jonny Fly, and Jeff Purse are one cohesive unit, but we are too. Despite what happened with John Gable last week... I'm sure that we are professional enough to take this in stride and give all that we got in order to come up with the W.
WCF: Very firm words. Thank you for your time Morientes. Good luck on Sunday, and best wishes to Iker once again.
Morientes: No worries. See you in Mexico.
As always, we'll bring you the latest news when we get any updates.
